Peeshaun:
Please I got an invite for work for 75 days (midddle of October till the end of December) but I applied for 90 days can this be an issue during processing.
It shouldn't be a problem. How many days before the job starts, how many days after? They may not give you all.

In your letter of introduction, please clearly state that you want a few days to get used to the country before work starts and a few days after the job to cool off.

Cheers and all the best.

Hello,
I invited someone over to sa and he was denied saying documents lacks credibility. He has travelled with me to sa last year and I wanted him to come again. D embassy didn't contact myself, hubby, or school were he was to receice training neither the accommodation he was going to stay in.
He is meant to come with visiting visa but on d letter it says ******** relative permit
He isn't my relatives. Is this an error on their part?
Can anyone shed light on this and what can bw done thanks
I was surprised to see the volume of posts after yours and yet there was no reply to your question. Let me attempt to answer.

You will need to explain further. They have seen at least one document they think is ingenuine in your docs. The person should ask for clarity. Which doc is ingenuine? That will help you further to know how to proceed. I'm sure there's a way out.

please sir i am a southafrica three months visa holder, sir what i want to know is that with the three months visa i am holding if i arrived in south africa can i equally travell to the next neighbouring country called botswana.
Your question is not clear. I'm assuming you hold a 3 month visa to SA. The big question is, on your visa page, what are the conditions written there? That will guide you as to how to proceed.

You must have activated your ATM card for online payments. If you haven't, go to your bank and let them activate it for you. They should teach you how to make payments online. Even if I tell you how, without activation from your bank, I doubt it will go through (unless your bank automatically activates all cards).

BTW, I may be wrong. It's been some time out of Naija. Things might have changed. Others will correct me if I'm wrong.

DrKit: Hello
I'm replying here for the 1st time. I want to apply for a visiting visa to SA today for a 5-day training today.
I need a clarification on the following:
1. Do i need to pay fro the flight reservation? I booked on hold with SA airways.
2. Do I need to obtain my statement of account from my bank? cos i printed it on my internet banking portal but it was stamped, signed and verified by the bank.

I intend traveling on the 18th, so please treat as urgent.

Thank you.
Hmmmmm, considering that they deny people with legitimate documents based on flimsy excuses, I would advise you get it from the bank.

Cheers.

ojodomo2000: @ TYPOP, Samtol4 and other nairalanders. Your contributions on this tread have been of immense help, and truth is u dont know what good you are doing to naija visa applicants (Thank you for your kind words). Now I still need your help. I was at the SA high commission in Abuja today to submit my application for a study visa (PhD @ Rhodes). The first question the lady asked me was "do you have SAQA". It then dawn on me that this no SAQA thing in ABJ is gone or no more (maybe they have started to check SAQA). I need to know how to go about this SAQA stuff bearing the following in mind:

Am I to send just certified copies of my credentials (at this level do I need to add my O'level)? Forget O Levels.
Are my transcripts required or just certified copies of certificates obtained? Certified copies of transcripts are also needed.
Can I do funds transfer through Form A or credit card (MC), if not, what other easier methods? You can use your ATM
Do I have to pay for the evaluation before sending the docs since proof of payment is required? No sir. Pay first, then attach proof of payment. Otherwise, you will have to pay another fee for reactivating your application after they suspend it due to lack of payments.
My replies are in your question, boldned.

Cheers.

Emasel: Pls does anyone have an idea, how much it will cost to post a document via courier from SA to Naija,my SAQA is ready but learnt SA postoffices are on strike.

Thanks!
Can you ask them to scan it to you so you can continue your processing? They will also give it to anybody you nominate so if you have a friend in Pretoria, you can see if he/she will be available to help you go to their office to pick it up.

Cheers.

Jesusculture: @Youngus, Sadly but honestly the Nigerian govt is notorious for its slow reaction time to urgent issues, examples from the chibok girls up untill the ebola case. Every state has got the right to protect its citizens both inside n outside regardless of the circumstance. I mean we talking about over 60 human beings who lost their lives under still to be established circumstance, surely u don't expect the SA govt to fold their arms and absolutely do no nothing . That singular act shows that the SA govt will do evrything by all means to ensure the safety of its citizens, sadly this cannot be said of Nigeria. Anyway RIP to the dead
True. Especially when Nigerian govt said "X" number of people died and SA knows that their citizens that died were "X+7". Maybe only SA citizens died.

May God help us.

harlyon: I landed at OR Tambo on friday and I was lucky that I wasn't deported.I noticed that Nigerians were closely scrutinised.I came in tru rwanda air.I noticed that other passengers were not checked closely like it was done to us with the Nigerian passport.4 nigerians were deported instantly.we were only 4 Nigerians that were allowed in. When it came to my turn I presented my passport and the guy said-"YOU NIGERIANS ARE HERE AGAIN TO CAUSE PROBLEMS AND DANCE SKELEWU WITH OUR LADIES"-i didn't say a word,,I jst stood there looking at him..he didn't ask me for proof of accomodation..he jst gazed at me then I greeted him in ZULU and he smiled and I walked past. THOSE GUYS ARE CRAZY O.THE LEVEL OF HATE TO NIGERIANS IS REALLY HIGH AND ITS NOT GOOD
LOL @Skelewu. Nice trick to greet in Zulu. They've been calling the hosts or hotels for some time now though (before the SCOAN accident).

Again, this is a warning to all. Use genuine documents before you come. SA WILL likely verify. Thanks for your insight as usual @Samtol4

Cheers.

Send me a private message. Let me be clear about this, I am about to pay for you and send the proof of payment to you. If you have any reservations about it, please don't bother to mail me. Also note that I WILL receive an alert on my GTB account before I transfer to you. After that, I will pay into their account directly and send the proof of payment to you. You can then add this to your documents and send to SAQA. Also, don't encourage your friends to contact me for their own payments. This is just a favour. That is why I am not sending an e-mail to you but saying what I have to say out here in the open.

Cheers.

Admin, no vex. I am however not advertising. If this is against the rules, kindly e-mail me.

I don't know what SARA is. I assume you meant SAQA. It should cost you between 10k and 20k, depending on the options you choose on the forms.

Donxavier: hello house,

It's a family situation that has brought me here, as I am not conversant with SA immigration rules. I believe I can get the help I need here. My sister eloped with a man to SA 14 days ago. She told me a lot of things that i find hard believing, hence why am here. Please help me separate the lies from fact.

1. She said she was given a 5 year visit visa from Nigeria? Can this be true? I just find this very hard to believe especially for a first time traveler.
2. She says the man she's with will change her visiting status to either a study permit or work permit or even refugee status...all of these with supposedly thousands of rand. I know this is Africa and corruption is everywhere but is it really possible thru backdoor means to convert your visiting visa to any of the other long term residency visas inside SA.

The man she's with owns his own business in SA.

please any one with an insight into all these?
1. 5 years visiting visa to SA? Not possible. I've never heard of it. But who knows . . . . ?
2.Only one of the options is possible. And with that one option, you may not see your sister in a VERY LONG time. It is the last option popularly called "Aduro" which you called "refugee status". Trust me, you don't want your sister to do that one. Every other option is already an illegality by law now in SA. It used to be legally possible earlier this year (to change you visiting permit to temporary permit {study and work}), not anymore.

chemenger: Thanks and can one use the scanned copy for visa processing in Lagos as you've earlier mentioned Lagos request for saqa?
Yes sir/ma, you may.

chemenger: Can this person in SA print out the scanned copies of the certified transcript, certificate and the international passport sent to him for SAQA instead of sending hard copy to him.
They asked for originals, not certified copies. I believe they have your certified copies already. Meanwhile, they are not asking for your international passport.

May I ask if you have applied already or you are just planning to apply? If you are just planning to apply, then certified copies will do. If they sent you a mail requesting for your originals, then you need to send those.

Cheers.

chemenger: Thanks so much, I want to know if SAQA would send evaluation certificate to me in naija and have them send a copy to wits university?
It depends on what you fill on your forms. If you asked them to send to both you and Wits (and paid for that service, of course), then the certificate will be sent to both. If you didn't pay any extra cost, they will post only to you.

I also know of people who ask them to send to addresses of people in SA as it is cheaper and faster. The ones in SA then scan it to them back home.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:00pm On Sep 13, 2014
Aboderinkay: I was asked to send my original documents to SAQA before eevaluation certificate will be issued. Please advice me
samtol4: Don't rush in sending your originals because they will still require your school to confirm through email or letter that you graduated from the school. Please compel your school to respond to Saqa's request by sending a letter or mail to confirm your results. .
It is not unusual for SAQA to ask for your originals. I know they asked for mine. However, what I did was send them to my supervisor who then sent someone to Pretoria to SAQA office so they may view it. The person then took the form back to my supervisor who kept it until I got there. So, if you know someone in SA that you trust to keep your originals, you may send them to him/her and pay them to go to Pretoria for you.

From their mail to me, if I didn't send the originals, my certificate would not be ready, despite confirmation from my school.

Cheers.

chemashie: I need help from experienced people on this thread, I got this mail while trying to source for information on application for accompanying Visa for my family..."In theory, according to the new laws, on a Study Visa your family cannot accompany you. You may qualify for a Critical Skills Work Visa. Please see attached and tell me if you agree that you fit into at least one Critical Skills category and also which Professional Body you would register with (compulsory)."
It seems I'm having problem with comprehension or what do you all think is happening? Does that mean my family can't join me on accompanying visa as a PhD student? I need help very fast!!!!
Boss, I had gotten all the links to reply you since yesterday but forgot to get back here.

I checked the new gazette.
Also, in the provisions for temporary residents (Pages 15 and 16), there is a clause for accompanying children and spouse (subsection 'd' and 'e')
Finally, on the forms to fill for student visa, there is also a space for the information and documents for your accompanying family. With all these evidences, you are allowed to bring in your family members.

Face the person who told you that it's impossible to get accompanying visa for your family with these evidences and see what he/she says.

Secondly, I've heard that you guys at SUN still have a lot of racist folks in your university. However, you should still go to your international office and tell them that not having your family is affecting your academics as you need them to give you moral, family, physical, emotional and sexual support. Just explain that you are at a point in your research where it is important for them to be with you if your academics will go in the right direction and see how they will support you.

Rukkky: Hi everyone, pls I need help concerning SAQA, I applied since may, they sent me a mail that my app is suspended that they are awaiting official response from the institution, this after I made the school send them original transcript. Some1 told me that I have to send my original waec result and undergrad cert, please is dis information true cos I'm not comfortable sending my original doc, pls what can I do to facilitate dis process. If any 1 has done saqa recently I need help pls.
If you were to send your originals, SAQA would send a mail to you that includes the text "in the meantime, please submit original documentation in respect of . . . . . ". If this is not stated in the mail SAQA sent to you, keep your originals with you.

Secondly, SAQA does not need your original WAEC. They will ask for a scratch card if they think there is a need for further verification.

Cheers.

kemkem30: Ok then. Thank u all
I know you have been answered well. I only want to add the reason for the answers. Usually, Post-Doc fellowships contracts last for at least a year. It will baffle the embassy that you have a post doc for 6 weeks. Since they are for more than 3 months and also for academic reasons, they usually apply for study permits. Hence, applying for a visitor's permit will kill it.

Like the bosses have said, let him re-apply for study permit. You may want to get a paid accommodation this time around, at least for a month. I'm sure Samtol4 can help with one and supply you with a lease agreement.

Cheers and all the best.

chemashie: The guy should have asked the secretary to the Registrar if they have received any letter or not by checking through the incoming (if received) mails and outgoing (if has been attended to by Registrar) mails. After confirming the receipt and dispatching of the mail at the Registrar's office, he should proceed to the Exams and Records where the information is expected to be supplied and sent back to SAQA. The guy will need to pay some fees at the exams and records before they can send back the report; if not, the mail will remain in the unit for as long as God knows. That is how a guy lost his admission in Finland waiting for school to reply not knowing that some fees are attached to the service.
In summary, he needs to check at Registrar's office first and proceed to the exams and records unit for the processing.
Thanks baba Rhodes. Will advise as you stated.

If there is an Arik or SAA stand there, yes, you may book it. You will need two flights, one local (from Waari to Lag) and the other international.

Otherwise, go online to apply and then pay at the bank, or send someone to go to Lagos.

Cheers.
