harlyon: Hello guys,I applied two weeks ago.I culdnt find dt slip(that reciept dt contains that number u could use to track it online).and also the day I submitted I didn't get any text like the one I got the time I applied in lagos some time ago which says that ur application has been received for processing. I want to ask if there is any way to check it
I think your best bet is to send an e-mail to them at info.zang@vfshelpline.com

Explain yourself, give your date of birth, date of application, place of application and ask for help with your receipt no. They may help out.

BTW, I assumed you applied for a tourist visa at VFS, hence the above info.

Cheers.

aekmanweb: Is this thread for people going to study in SA or general SA inquiries. Anyway, i like to confirm the update about getting SA Visa cos i learnt the High Commission only issue between 7 to 10 working days Visa to tourist. I have been there once, have two SA Visas the first (3)mnth Visa whch i didnt use, the second (6)mnth Visa whch i only spent 21days in SA. I am planning to go as a tourist once again, has there been any changes in application processes. Kindly feed me in peepz....thanks all.
As much as we would love to help you, we simply can't. To be of assistance to you, some info will be needed. When did you apply last and what processes did you go through? That way, guys can inform you if something is different or has changed.

Cheers.

Judging by the responses of people (except of course the comment before mine), statement of the OP is true. I ask, how can we (black people) be so dumb as to read a statement like this and not research it first? The first thing to do is to make a comment and curse! SMH.

LOL. I just saw the like and was curious to know what happened to the post I made years ago. Smart move.

Please note: I did not run away from the SA page. I've just not been on nairaland at all in the past few days. In fact, the only page I go to on NL is the SA page.

Ok. Find my answers in your questions. Cheers.

slumcat: typop, sorry I know this is off-topic but you've been away from the SA so I had to come disturb you here. its important please.
my questions:

1) I have my university statement of result (the university certificate is not ready yet) and my ssce certificate. will saqa accept these two for evaluation?... or are there other documents I must present for evaluation aside these?. You will need your transcript and certificate (to whom it may concern should do).

2) I'm currently awaiting my work permit and I have the receipt from home affairs (my passport is still with them too). can I apply for saqa or would my full permit be required?. You only need a certified photocopy of the passport. Surely, you should have that with you.

3)after saqa evaluation, will I still present/use my Nigerian qualifications, or will my saqa papers cover them?. For what purpose exactly?

4) will my birth certificate be required amongst the documents I must have if I go in search of a job (mainly teaching job)?. It depends on the organization.

5) I have a BSc in public administration (2:1) and I'm looking at getting a teaching job. any tips for me? e.g places where I have better chances, salary scale e.t.c. also what are my chances like (pls note that I am good at academics). Unfortunately, I know more about academics than career at this time.

6) what's the best medium to send documents from Nigeria? Any speed post service

please, please I'll appreciate your responses cuz NL is basically where I can find Nigerians who are intellects here... most naija people I find are hustlers/businessmen.

you dont have to all, I'll appreciate your tips in whatever quantity or perspective you give.
thanks.
Finally, let's continue the discussion on the SA page. I may not come back here.

Cheers and all the best.

yinchar: @Samtol4, please what did you meant by embassies in Lagos and Abuja are not collecting study permit application again?....Please kindly explain further when does that starts, because am going to Abuja on Thursday to submit my study permit application for my PhD programme. Thanks
PhDs can apply anytime. Go to the embassy and try explaining yourself to the staff inside. Please, don't let the security men turn you back.

Cheers.

yinksob002: Good day All,

I completed my application for postgraduate studies (2015) to Wits University and supplied all the required documents for more than Five weeks now. However, i am yet to receive an admission letter. I just want to know if it takes that long to receive an admission having supplied all the required documents (Hard and Soft copies).

Does anyone have a similar experience?

Thanks
The university was on holiday. They just resumed but are facing supplementary exams at the moment. They should be able to attend to you by the end of the month.

Cheers.

lovelydamsel: Yes dear its a post graduate program 'm after.just wanted to be sure.thank you
Jesusculture: @ lovelydamsel, most SA universities require a minimum of 60% aggregate for both Honours n Postgrad programs. Alternatively verify the admission requirements for your desired university on the website. Goodluck
What 60% means is a 3.0 CGPA after graduation (for universities using 5.0).

Unless you have loads of money, consider other universities before WITS. They are damn expensive.

Emasel: Please,I just want to confirm if I can still secure admission for masters in SA for the 2014/2015 academic session.I've not gotten my SAQA evaluated certificates but I intend starting it once I can be clarified of this.
No sir, you can't, for 2014. The 2014 session is nearly over. Second semester is starting soon. However, you may still be able to secure for 2015. But you must act VERY fast. Admission closes by September before which you must finish SAQA and put in your application.

Cheers and all the best.

opsy4real1: Thank you Samtol for the information, so he is fine to apply for the visa only with the offer letter and Sace? Just the 2 mentioned docs from s.a? Also what other docs does he need to support with here?
samtol4: @opyreal.1.yellow fever card 2.letter of employment 3.Sace registration.4.flight booking since he is applying from Nigeria 5.Bank statement of sponsor/his own.6medical report and radiological report 7.police report 8.proof of residence .9.Saqa 10.all his academic certificates
I think when Sam said police report, he meant police report both from Naija and SA as well since your friend has stayed for some time in SA.

Cheers.

Lstar4real: pls I need update on availability of teaching job in SA....like Maths. Chemistry and physics
They are available. You will need to apply for the job and get it from Nigeria though to get a work permit. Or you come in with a visitor's visa, secure the job and then go back to naija to apply for the work permit. Meanwhile, to get the job without work permit is not that easy. You need favor.

huhmuhyehmi: Ok.. now i get it smiley Thanks. but one more thing do you know if SAQA will accept a copy of proof of payment showing all the payment detail even if not original? or do i have to get the originals proof postd to me by the person paying for me so i can post it to them? like is it compulsory that i sent the original payment proof huh
They will pay for you from the internet and send the file to you. You can print as many as possible. There is no original. And it's acceptable.

Do you have a budget or no limits? Are you willing to pay for all the days at once or what's the plan? There are reasons for asking.

huhmuhyehmi: ok...you mean I can just pay in Naira and have it converted to the rand by d bank and send to saqa probably via a Dom account? Or I have to do it through someone who is based in southafrica and have d person scan d payment receipt to me?
I meant you can get someone who is in SA and has a naira acct. Send the money to someone his naira acct, he pays for you via EFT and sends the proof of payment to you.

huhmuhyehmi: bro it looks like nairaland has done some ish on the post or maybe it's my account...nothing related to answer to my request is being displayed..pls help me repost it...
Thanks
TYPOP: You can pay to someone's naira account and they transfer to SAQA for you. They will then send the proof of payment to you and you include that in your documentation. That's one way to go about it and I know it works.
But you have to first fill in your form and identify how much you are to pay so it's easy for both parties.

macsika: thank you very much for replying. i've done some research and narrowed my choice to UNiversity of capetown, University of stellenbosch and University of pretoria but capetown is where i want more. So what should i start doing now and how do i apply.
The first thing will be getting your certificates certified in a court in Nigeria. Then check HESA's procedures and apply. Get the documentation needed from their website.

macsika: Hello everyone

I just finished writting my waec, and my father has agreed to let me school in SA. Pls i would like everyone to help me with this decision
1 which school is the best to study medicine and surgery and which city is more environmentally friendly with good accomodation.

2 how and when should i begin this, should i look for an agent(if an agent is necessary, can you please connect me to the right one.. With contact especiall in pH).

3 Is their degree recognise in ghana and nigeria and how is their schooling system.

Pls don't tell to go back and read other post because i tried and none really answered my question. I'm looking forward to getting opinions from everyone. Thank you so much.
Congratulations on finishing your WAEC.

I am not doing Medicine and Surgery. I wouldn't know which school is best. Maybe others will help you out on that.

On a lot of ranking sites, SA schools rank highly in Africa. Surely, that says a lot about their educational standards. Schooling system here is a lot better than at home or in Ghana.

You don't need any agent. You should be able to get your admission yourself. We'll be here to guide you all the way. However, you have a lot to do yourself by browsing and reading info from the internet.

Depending on where you applied, it is not too late. Don't forget that December was a festive period. Why not call them. Also, you cannot track online since it is a study permit.

Cheers and all the best.
