damola91: Hi everyone, earlier in the year I got my student visa(thanks to this thread ) but I couldn't go because registration had ended before I got the visa. I got in touch with the HOD and he told me to come over in January and submit application for re-admission. So, hopefully I'll be going by January. You will need a paper indicating your accomodation (either a letter from someone indicating you will stay with him/her or a hotel reservation), your passport, yellow fever vaccination, admission letter and your passport. I think that is all. Anybody else thinks he needs any other thing? On BTA, forget dollars. If anybody asks you for BTA at the airport, tell them you have ATM and will withdraw at the machine. For that, you may hold your recent bank balance. There should not be any problem with that. Happy New Year guys. |
elume2020: Hi all, Let me give my own appreciation to every comments made. I read through many comment while applying for my study permit and the information gathered here were indeed helpful.........Nice summary. Only little snag is not all the Bureau de Change at the airport change Naira. A friend was stuck 3 weeks ago. But for that, you can withdraw with your ATM card. Like you said, thumbs up to the partons of this site. They helped us a lot. How come you stay in Auckland Park and are in DFC campus? That's far man. Cheers, all the best. |
julianauche19: Please can anyone that filled a SAQA form guide me on how to fill mine? Am finding it difficult to understand somethings in the form and i dobt want to make mistakes. Thanks.Which parts are difficult for you? julianauche19: Also please can u guys suggest cheap tuition schs for my honours and MSC degrees? I studied electrical electronics engineering but wud love to continue in information technology. ThanksYou will have to check the schools websites and go through their tuition fees. The word cheap is relative. What I call expensive may be cheap for you. |
herigift: it is not visiting, i have a study permit and would like my kids to accompany me and was advised on this forum to apply for accompany visa forr them after getting my own study permit, pls want type of medical aids is applicable to them, i used ingwe, samtol4: Bros u don't need medical aid for those kids dey re not coming to study .medical aids are for students@Herigift, I remember asking someone (married with children) who got here before me about your case and the person told me about the medical aid thing. However, @samtol4 says you do not need it. @samtol4 COULD be right. I will try to call the office in charge after the holidays and clarify once and for all. Why not also try calling the embassy to confirm. They should also be able to help. So sorry if I misled you. Cheers and all the best. Merry christmas y'all. |
herigift: pls Guys, does a applicant (Minor) for accompany visa need a medical aid? i want to apply for accompany visa for my 2 kids, i already have a medical aids, i dont know if the children too needs one or they are covered with mine? thanksIf it is visiting, none of you need. If it is long term, you all need. |
adewumigloria: Hello Nairalanders, pls does anyone have any information about accomodation at Kwazulu-Natal in Durban. School is on session already so university accomodation is almost impossible. I would appreciate any useful information pls. aupcy@yahoo.com:School CANNOT be on session now dear. All schools are CLOSED at the moment. Your school will open on the 2nd of January. Confirm from here http://registrar.ukzn.ac.za/Sessional-Dates-2014/Nelson-R-Mandela-School-of-Medicine.aspx However, selection for accommodation would have closed since around September or October. Both of you should try sending a mail to the International Office asking them if they COULD pick you up at the airport and give you accommodation for a few days while you secure accommodation. Let's hope someone responds (cos of the school closure). Cheers and all the best. |
jamescyril: Hi peeps , I need Ɣ☺ur help. I have someone who needs to send ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ visit letter to south africa and she is a citizen. How does she go about the letter? Is it from the embassy she needs to visit or pls jst give ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ a directive.I answered option 2 already. For option 1, check my conversation with Seyetee starting from here https://www.nairaland.com/944102/general-south-africa-visa-enquiries/71#20190167. Read all through our conversation before asking further questions please. Cheers and all the best. |
herigift: pls what are the days and time for application for accompanying visa at the vfs office in abuja, and all other necessary documents. thanksAs long as the embassy is not closed and there is no public holidays, you can apply anytime. They usually handle the first 200 applicants everyday. |
jamescyril: Hi brothers and sis, pls I need Ɣ☺ur help. Pls is there anyone here who has gotten his or her south african visiting visa or tourist visa, 3 months multiple entry, using an Α̅gent? Pls..I need such wit genuity..and would pay all money when м̣̣̥̇̊Ɣ visa is out...@ the rate of 120k-130k. Pls help ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ and Godbless Ɣ☺u.While this forum discourages the use of agents, I personally know someone who used an agent and got his visa in 3 days. He is in the republic at the moment and told me his story himself. He paid 130k. He got a 3 months multiple entry visiting visa. I WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE NAME NOR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT ANY AGENT AS THOSE ARE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED HERE. |
enitin: Hi, good morning everyone in this forum. I have two questions I will like to ask here. Pls if your visa is already expired, can that kind of person still have the oppurtunity to apply for spouse visa or work permit? Pls I need your advice. You can always apply for any type of visa that you qualify for. |
aupcy@yahoo.com:I mean the price they gave you are very high for that area. You should be able to get cheaper accommodations in that same location. There is nothing you can do about the campus accommodation but the off-campus accommodation department can link you up with a few landlords in the area. Cheers. |
tosol: Hi Friends,I used ErrandEx in those days after doing some research. They seem cheaper to me. I paid 10,900. Not sure what the price is now. |
Sassy_p: @TYPOP pls if i want to book and make reservations for my hotel and ticket for application for visa how do i go about it?should i pay for it or just do the book on hold for d ticket and hotel reservation...pls tell me how its done.thanksFor airline booking, check the appropriate links below. The last two should help you. For hotel reservation, instructions differ per hotel. Most will tell you to pay for one night to confirm your reservation and pay once you arrive. You will need to find out the policies of the hotel you have in mind. | Visa costs | Application duration | Sponsor information | Repatriation fees | Certification | Airline's book-on-hold & medical report | Book-on-hold
opsy4real1: Good job Typop but is police report now necessary for tourist/visit visa? Is it a new development cos I got my visas without it.That was a mistake. No police report. I apologise. |
aupcy@yahoo.com: tosol: Hi,I'm also goin to Wits. I was given the same price for accommdatn(Int'l House).I'm already negotiating for off campus residence around R2500 per month, but still struggling with getting the original copy of saqua cert.Well, can u chek dis www.aengus.co.zaThat price is VERY high for that area. You can get accommodation for between 2000 and 3000 depending on how large you want to live. I'll however advise you just get any accommodation for now and then get here and go find yourself a decent accommodation. Rent is done on a monthly basis unless you commit yourself to your school. So, get any accommodation, pay for the first one month and then within that one month, get another. I'll advise you come early so you can settle the accommodation things before your colleagues get to school. A lot of people will be looking for houses at this time so prices may be non negotiable. Cheers and all the best. |
tosol: Hi,I'm also goin to Wits. I was given the same price for accommdatn(Int'l House).I'm already negotiating for off campus residence around R2500 per month, but still struggling with getting the original copy of saqua cert.Well, can u chek dis www.aengus.co.zaSorry on your SAQA issues. Abuja would have been the place to go. I never heard of an interim certificate though. How did you go about it? |
aupcy@yahoo.com:Congrats. |
herigift: thanks to God, i got my study permit today. also i appreciate guys in this forum for your advice, help and information. i pray that of my spouse and kids will be successful too.Congrats and all the best to your family. |
Dmt1981: Hello all,The application process is the same. Duration depends on how lucky you are. |
adewumigloria: @Tosol, I presented my SAQA certificate at the emabassy, but someone on this thread said he got his without SAQA. He said the Lagos office asked for it but that its not necessary at the abuja office and I think someone confirmed it too. @Typop can shed more light on this.Abuja does not ask for SAQA. If you give them, they won't reject it. |
adewumigloria: Pls hurry and go get your permit. I applied for mine on the 4th of November and just got it yesterday, after six long weeks. I actually went there on friday last week and after the lady checked she asked me to come by 3 yesterday. when I got there it was ready. Stop callling in order not to be discouraged. Just go there.Congratulations. |
eighty7: Pls all, I plan to study in SA, can I get a graduate job after completion? All things are possible. |
seyetee: much appreciation typop Got it! But u 4got to inform how they should structure deir self introductory letters or they need just one to be written by only d hubby?Let one of them apply as the main applicant and the other as accompanying dependant. The one applying need to write a letter indicating that the other will accompany him. THey should submit their applications at the same time. Please note that they will both need most of the documentations required for one person including police report. They will also be guided at VFS and if their application has issues, the applications won't be collected until the issues are resolved. |
Sassy_p: @TYPOP can i ask pls ask what documents i'l need to apply for a visiting visa from Tanzania as i am currently studying at uni of dar es salaam...i also hold a valid residence permit here in tanzania...kindly list out the documents needed to get a visiting visa....from how to make the hotel reservation to flight booking and all...just give me a like a list of what to do and how to go bout it....thanksWhile I would have loved to help, it is important to note that the requirements for visa application vary per country of residence. You will have to go to the SA High Commission in Tanzania and find out what are required of you. Let them know you are a Nigerian with a residence permit in Tanzania because visa requirement for Nigerians are different for citizens of SADC (of which Tanzania is one). You could also post your question here and see how people in Tanzania can help. https://www.nairaland.com/1147682/welcome-tanzania Cheers and all the best. |
phone: Tnx for ur reply, do u get some work to do as u study,hw easy is dt?I'm not saying you may not get work but don't plan to get work. If you now get it, it becomes an advantage. But there are available minor jobs you can get. As per sponsor, trust for God's favour. It's also a possibility. |
tosol: Pls,friends I need ur advice. I personally contacted Momentum Clinic by sending e-mail for the cost of medical aid for 12months.I was given the estimate of R4188. A well known person to me in south africa said he wud assist wit the payment and demanded I pay 82k naira in his nigeria acct. When I converted I felt it ought not to have bin more dan 70k.It's too expensive. If you trust the guy, you can go ahead and send the money. But I suggest you ask momentum to send their banking details and wire the money directly from Naija. That is a big possibility. |
seyetee: thank you very much typop, i get your message. is scanned documents acceptable at the embassy or I should send to them by post? also is JUST invitation letter and just the P.R enough? do I not need send passport page , my work I.D card and bills? I wanna ensure it goes smooth with their application. and also do they submit in just one package?,Scanned documents are acceptable at the embassy. No need to post. Since you have your PR, your passport is really useless now in SA. You only need it outside SA now. You PR is a stronger document than your passport & ID card. No need for bills as well unless you plan to sponsor them in which case you indicate that in the letter of IV and add your banking statement to back it up. Cheers and all the best. | Visa costs | Application duration | Sponsor information | Repatriation fees | Certification | Airline's book-on-hold & medical report | Book-on-hold
Admin, please help me. I need to use those links as my signature but it's not accepting all of them. How can I go about this? Is there a limit to the number of characters? Here is the signature I want: | Visa costs | Application duration | Sponsor information | Repatriation fees | Certification | Airline's book-on-hold & medical report | Book-on-hold | Thanks. |
Ok guys. Now I have to include a signature for myself. Don't be mad if you see the following at the end of all my posts. Some questions don't need to be repeated. That's why I'm using this signature. ijapa888: (1) How does book on hold work?1. I assume you've been to the website of the airline already. I explained how book on hold works earlier. Please search through my posts. You will see it though it may take some time. 2 & 3. Yes, it will be cancelled. Don't worry about it. Just use it like that. That's all the embassy need. I still wonder why they do that thing. 4. Yes you can combine more than one account. If both are yours, fine. If one is not yours, let the owner write a letter that he/she wants to sponsor your trip and make a photocopy of the person's ID card. 5. The amount should be there when making your application. After that, still keep some amount. Though not the same amount as at when you got the statement. The embassy calls the bank to verify some of the time. 6. NO, you do not. Cheers and all the best. |
