If Goldie’s death will remind me of anything, let it remind me to speak kindly, to make the effort to say something good about everyone I encounter, even if I have to dig deep to find those words. Let her death remind me that while it is easier to be cruel than to be kind, it is infinitely more rewarding to bless someone with the words out of my mouth, to lift instead of to pull down. And then let me take it a step further, let those around me never doubt that they are important to me, let dem never doubt my appreciation nd my gratitude for them and for all that they do in my life. Let nothing be left unsaid that can be said. Life is too short. Every moment counts. Nobody knows tomorrow. Let's embrace eachother with love.

Nice one Op.

Let me drop this piece too.

Lessons to learn from Super Eagles victory over Cote D`Ivoire

1.Football pundits globally wrote the “Super Chickens” off
Morals: When the whole world have written you off remember your destiny lies in your hand

2.The Ivorian’s were more talented
Morals: Talent alone cannot give you result but passion for what you are doing and your determination to succeed.

3.The Ivorian’s have been together as a team for over five years
Morals: It is not how long that matters but how well

4.Seventeen players in the Nigeria team where making their first appearance in a major competition
Morals: To make a head way in any endeavour must not take decades the major determinants are your vision, set goals, pursuit of your ambition, determination and discipline.

5.Two home based players were included in the team, one of them was able to stop the number one rated team in Africa from doing damage in the defense, and the other scored arguably the best goal of the tournament so far.
Morals: No matter where you are domiciled your star can shine above others if only you have self-confidence, self-discipline and the belief that “I can make it”

No matter the negative happenings and developments in Nigeria, we can still make it with God on our side.

Foreign Affairs / Deadliest Sniper In US History Shot Dead by tyson55(m): 4:23am On Feb 04, 2013
Iraq veteran and ex-US Navy seal Chris Kyle, known as the deadliest sniper in US history, has been shot dead on a Texas shooting range, reports say.

His body was found at Rough Creek Lodge range on Saturday with that of another man. A suspect was arrested.

Mr Kyle, 38, wrote the 2012 bestseller American Sniper, about the psychology of a sniper, in which he said that he had killed more than 250 people.

He served four tours of duty in Iraq and was decorated for bravery.

The gunman opened fire at about 15:30 local time (21:30 GMT) then fled in a pick-up truck belonging to one of the victims, local media reported.

Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant said the motive for the killings was unclear, and was unable to explain how the two men were shot.

But he said a 25-year-old suspect was detained five hours later more than 70 miles (110 km) from the scene.

Scott McEwen, who co-authored the book with Kyle, said: "It just comes as a shock and it's staggering to think that after all Chris has been through, that this is how he meets his end, because there are so many ways he could have been killed."

'The Devil'

Mr Kyle, a former cowboy, is regarded as the most prolific sniper the US has ever seen.

Official Pentagon figures say he killed 160 people, but he estimated the total was 255.

According to army intelligence, he was nicknamed "The Devil" by Iraqi insurgents, who put a $20,000 (£13,000) bounty on his head.

He appeared to show little remorse for his victims.

"Every person I killed I strongly believe that they were bad," he told the BBC in an interview a year ago.

"When I do go face God there is going to be lots of things I will have to account for but killing any of those people is not one of them."

News Flash. Monkey defects to France with Irans newest jet. Cant wait for the photo of it being shot down. I just hope the monkey can get out before it hits the ground. cheesy

On a serious note, If it's a plane that can evade radar, fly at low altitude, carry weapons, engage enemy aircrafts and land at short airstrips, according to their Defense Minister Ahmad. This makes me wonder, does it actually get airborne...?
Sports / Nigeria Eyes Foreign Coach by tyson55(m): 11:35pm On Jan 28, 2013
The Nigeria Football Federation has finally agreed with the sports ministry on the need to hire a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles after the team struggled in their last two matches of the Nations Cup in South Africa.

The team play Ethiopia tomorrow at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg in a must win match if they want to avoid the indignity of crashing out in the first round. They currently have two points from two matches.

Sports Vanguard can confirm that the Nigeria Football Federation which shielded Keshi from pressures from the Sports Ministry to hire an expatriate coach has finally given their seal of approval to hire a world class coach who will tinker the team for the World Cup qualifiers in Brazil.

Very reliable sources here told Sports Vanguard that youthful Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi had been irritated by the performance of the Eagles in the Nations Cup, a situation he attributed to the technical incompetence of the technical crew.

Senate and House Committee chairmen were also said to be disappointed by the performance of the Eagles under Keshi.

"NFF have seen reason that it needs an expatriate to select the best players in the land devoid of sentiments and field the best players and make appropriate changes in a match situation".

I gathered that the NFF officials had queried Keshi's final list of players to the Nations Cup but kept their cool to avoid being accused of interference,"the minister reportedly said.

And after the two annoying draws against Burkina Faso and Zambia, the NFF changed gear to look for a coach who can lead Nigeria out of the current embarrassment in South Africa.

Questions have been asked on why Keshi dropped Chibuzor Okonkwo when he has no natural right back. "Why did he drop Kalu Uche, Nigeria's best player at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and came with a 'school boy' Obiora Nwankwo?

Why did he drop Raheem Lawal? Why is he leaving Ike Uche on the bench and allowing Ahmed Musa to roam around aimlessly on the pitch. Ike Uche remains top scorer at the qualifiers and scored a hat-trick in one of his friendlies in Faro? Yet he brings him in three minutes to the end of match", the source asked.

Keshi was also scored low with his changes which they said were not effective.

However, we gathered that Keshi raised issues over the rumours on foreign coach and NFF members, apparently to avoid confusion in camp now promptly denied it.

But the fact is that the call for a foreign coach was being made by the sports minister who now has backers because of the way Eagles have played so far.

"I don't think this is the time to talk about hiring a coach in the middle of a competition and with an important match at hand. The team are not bad as we have seen them improve with every match.

The match against Zambia was drawn because of a dubious penalty by Egyptian referee Grisha Ghead", a source from the Eagles fired back.

What's this thing about having only 1 exit, knowing they may have 1000 to 2000 people in there? It's a sad shame these people went to party and this happened.

All types of fireworks or machines that spew sparks should be banned from any indoor uses. I feel sad for the families and friends who lost loved ones because of stupidity. Unreal.

May the soul rest in peace!

Al-Qaeda, flush with men and arms from the defeated forces of Libya's Muammar Gaddafi aided by western powers roaming free across the region and acting as terrorists in the name of their idiotic jihad. Watch the scenario in Syria and learn: you put arms and knowledge in the hands of these fanatics and it's the old story. They that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.

Sports / Re: Lance Armstrong Admits To Using Performance Enhancing Drugs by tyson55(m): 9:23pm On Jan 15, 2013
For some of those who knew Lance Armstrong the best, his fall from grace amid doping allegations is no surprise at all. Lance Armstrong is the “Bernie Madoff” of the sporting world.  Armstrong played the world and the media for years while knowingly taking performance enhancing drugs.

Having said the above, a lot of things does not add up with USADA. I have read the USADA report and all I see are a bunch of other people who were actually caught doping by drug tests saying that Armstrong use the stuff in exchange for much lighter sentences. Many of those testifying were given the option of a lifetime ban from cycling, or testify against Armstrong and get a short suspension. The testimony in the report is largely bought and paid for. I simply do not buy that Armstrong outsmarted all the different organizations that did drug tests on him all those years when they were catching other riders regularly. Now they are trying to say that the entire drug testing program was a joke and that most of the top riders in that era were using performance enhancing drugs and that many of them were getting past the tests. I have seen some reports that claim that as many as 80-90% of the top 25 riders in the world were using PEDs at the time Armstrong was competing. If this is the case then the drug testing program that they spent many millions of dollars on was completely worthless. The only problem with this is that if it is true then you have to ask how did they manage to catch anyone. If the tests were that easy to beat why would anyone get caught. Doesn't the mere fact that they were catching riders point to the efficacy of the test - or were the riders who got caught just so stupid that they did not learn the tricks all the other riders supposedly knew about and shared with each other. I simply do not buy that Armstrong could have been using PEDs all that time and yet managed to pass all of the approximately 300 drug tests he was given over the period.
