The last reasonable IGP Nigeria had was Tafa Balogun, since then it has been politicized and police used to enable crime than fight it.

The truth is that only 4 Nigerian Airports are viable and make profit . The profit they make is spread and used to sustain the other 20 -30 Airports. 70% of people use Lagos Airport and the truth is that profit from Lagos Airport alone is used to sustain more than half of all other Airports. So tell me why it should not be well funded. If you keep sucking it dry without major renovation then we all are in problem. This is the first major renovation in almost 40 years so why should any dumb head complain. That Airport must be well funded,modernized and totally remodelled . North brings only 10% of our GDP yet they take more than half of the sharings and yet they complain.

Buhari fully constructed the Lagos to Ibadan railway. He also completed Warri to Itakpe line. Within that period, there was no railway completed in North. Note that Abuja to Kaduna railway achieved 90% completion during GEJ. It was towards the tail end of Buhari's admin that they began Kano to Kaduna and Kano to Maradi rail lines.

This particular road is one reason why I insist that Tinubu's hurriedly-packed Lagos-Calabar road is not a feasible project. The Bodo Bonny road has been under construction for at least a decade by a good contractor. Yet it's not completed. And it'sless than 50km! And it has reportedly gulped more than 300 million Dollars! With all these, how do you handle a 700km road?

I have been to these places and I sometimes wonder who they expect to drive on this huge wide roads and bridges when the population is so few and largely fishermen with subsistence and free-oil money indulgent lifestyle. Is government going to be giving them free vehicles too ni?

Tinubu is selling this light rail propaganda to the north because of the outrage over FG's funding of the Lagos light rail. All wrongs are wrong. I don't think Kaduna and Kano even need light rail at this moment. Heck, 150b can't get you a light rail.

This idea of North vs South development is nauseating and it's Tinubu's handling that's aggravating the situation. It's not fair to prioritize everything about Lagos and leave other regions crying for projects. There are terrible roads across all regions yet he chooses to pick so called super highways that will take two decades to complete. As it stands today, there's no good road linking the nation's top cities Abuja and Lagos. How does that make sense? To add insult to injury, the roads from Lagos/Abuja to the oil-rich Niger Delta is in a terrible state. How can this be justified?

Yes, Buhari's appointment was lopsided and favoring the north. But that's just at face value. Because the appointments went to the three northern zones. Infact, Buhari's north west wasn't as favored compared to the north east. But the situation today is that major appointments are truncated to the south west. What we expect is at least a fairness for the SS and SE.

I just hope that the federal fire service are not trying to push themselves into the oil and gas sector. The entire value chain of the sector has regulators NUPRC and NMDPRA under whose purview safety(not just fire) falls. Let the FFS focus on regulating fire safety in states ensuring that the fire services have the right manning and training.

What I expected from the responses here is everyone to look at the projects in their region and validate what the minister claims. As for my north west region, most of these projects are either on paper or moving at a very slow pace. If the FG can do a 30km section of the coastal road, let them show us even a 10km stretch of the so-called Akwanga-Gombe and Sokoto-Badagry roads.

I don't believe most of these statistics. A lot of these indices for developing countries are cooked by propagandists and lobbyists. They use the data to source for funds for NGOs from generous donors or creditors. I have seen instances where millions was injected to fight opened defecation, but the highest they do is to build some blocks of toilets mostly substandard and not sustainable. I know of a place where hundreds of such toilets were built but they were never put to use. The equipment have been carted away by looters

This is more of a political statement than reality. The FETO are bitter rivals of the current Turkish government because they were accused of sponsoring a coup.
Part of the people been accused to be part of FETO in Nigeria are the owners of Nigerian Tulip International School. Some years back, diplomatic pressure from Turkey to Nigeria forced them to change the 'Turkish' in their name to 'Tulip'. The Turkish government were even pushing for the closure of the schools and other businesses. Nigeria has applied a lot of wisdom in handling the issue. I see no reason why an entity such NTIC which has been of immense contribution to Nigeria's private educational landscape should be closed down. Let Turkey free us abeg

I suspect propaganda here because Uba Sani govt is known to be adept at that. It was Elrufai that restored the sanctity of public facilities especially hospitals, clinics and schools. One of his first moves was to evict some houses constructed within a boarding secondary school I think in Zaria. During Elrufai, you dare not build anything attached to a school fence, a departure from the rife practise of building shops along such structures. Today, Uba Sani has allocated green areas including sections of public schools to his cronies. Elrufai himself sold government properties but it was well advertised in the dailies. But Uba's case is discreet and covered with propaganda.

Yes, military training instills discipline and patriotism. But I'm at loss how such people who have gone through the rigorous training turn out to be some of the most unpatriotic and corrupt elements in government. In the last decade, only few service chiefs finished their tenure scandal-free. Where is the patriotism is someone who's well paid till his death still goes ahead to steal billions!
