To those that have submitted their passport and travel insurance and are yet to receive it back, I advise you to visit the office of the courier company you used, the Embassy has sent my package to them( FedEx) and they kept my Visa and original documents in their office, so i had to go there today with my receipt and collect my package.

Please where is Lagos is their head office?

Congrats bro... what time did you take your passport to the embassy? [Qquote author=ubsilas post=71082399]On the 46th day, my Assurance Mail (AM) arrived. Sincerely it was not funny, I was always refreshing my mail morning and night.
For whatever reason it took that long, I don't know but to the glory of God it came which is the most important thing right now.

From someone that never believed that it was possible to get a Visa without the help of an agent or agency, I pour out my heartfelt gratitude to everyone on this platform that made it possible for us to scale through the numerous hurdles without being found wanting. God bless you all.

The plan for masters had always been next year, and I was looking at Canada and US. But going through their nairaland forum to see how they were dashing people rejection sha, I had to do a U-turn grin...until someone advised people there to stop killing themselves and wasting money but to try Germany, that a good number of courses are taught in English (information that I didn't have before), then I decided to check for my course in Germany via DAAD, and behold I found the course though in a Private University but with a cheaper tuition compared to Canada and USA.
This was in April. So that was when my running around started, with the loads of info here it was so smooth and timely, except waiting for AM sha. Even though enrollment and lectures resumed today, I was able to get extension till the end of the month.

U are not the first to encounter this. Many people have had such experience which also happened to me.
Definitely German embassy has sent ur documents to ur Auslander büro and there might be many applications on queue. It doesn't take them time to approve visa. For example during my time, i called on the alien office on Wednesday and was told that they 've not received my documents. I called back on Friday and was told that they 've just approved it.

I'm sure u will hear from them before the enrolment deadline .

Congratulations in advance grin

Thank you for your kinds words and the reason to keep hoping.

Hello guys...
I am in a very delicate situation and I need help from anyone who can offer any information that maybe of help.
Thanks to all the info here and they have been helpful.
I had my interview on 26th July and it went smooth no hitches, I even funded before interview to avoid any delay.
Out of curiosity I sent a mail to the alien authority in Germany last 2 weeks to enquire about my VISA but I was told my documents have not arrived Germany which was a surprise to me because it already 4 weeks.
I sent a message to embassy here in Lagos and they told me the alien authority should have received my documents as they had already sent it to them. I thought maybe the documents are on the way or something. I sent another mail last week but I was told it has not still arrived, so I mailed the embassy in Lagos to understand what is happening but I received a kind auto-reply message directing to visit the site to check info concerning VISA. Did the same this week but received the same auto-reply. I tried calling the embassy severally, it went into voicemail and call will end.

The Admission Director of my school called the alien authority to find out about my Visa and was told the same thing that my documents haven't arrived Germany and that she doubts I will make it in time. School resumes on Monday 3rd September for induction and official enrollment is 10th September.
I should have been in Germany this week or at most next week.

Please I need help on what to do cos at the moment I have ran out of ideas and its devastating.

6. Do as you just advised yourself now. Input your school details and post code.

9. Input studies. We all going there to take up part time jobs but we don't have to make it that easy for them to reject us na.

13. If SL ain't ready by then, input BA there. You can always present SL whenever it's ready. Be hasty about it making it available though.

Hope that helps

Hello guys, I did my interview today, this nairaland forum has been of great help to a lot of us, I want to appreciate everyone. So my transcript...

I got to the embassy at 5:30am, I was the second person on the queue. Since I stay very far from VI I had to lodge. God bless the person that informed us of the lodge at Bonny Camp, that place is preferable for me cos I left my lodge at 5:15 and in 15 minutes time I was at the embassy on foot trekking. The name of the lodge I stayed is 'Sappers Lodge', I used the 7k. Please I will advise that in order to secure the room, try and book early cos they have very few of those rooms and they are always booked out.

So back to the event of the day, because of what I learnt here I ignored all those people at d park trying to get money for one thing or the other, I just went in with my envelope of documents.

Oga Paulinus arrived at 6am, carried out his usual arrangement by this time we were up 20 on the queue. At 7am He called people for students visa to come in and announced to us how to arrange or documents according how he calls it. Please I will advice that with a paper clip you should attach your original to your 2 photocopies so that it will be easier to arrange. While I was there, Oga Paulinus sent 2 guys to the back because they were slow in arranging their documents, just be calm and follow his instructions, ignore his shouting and be focused because if u r allow it get to you, you will be destabilized.

At 7:15, those of us that our documents were arranged were called in for interview, I was praying not to get the lady everyone complains about even though I had prepared. So I entered the and lo and behold it was the dark guy, I first of smiled:

V.O.: Can I have your documents please?

V.O.: What course and you going for and where is it located? Which state?

V.O.: When did you finish school and what have you been doing since you left school?

V.O.: Can I have your Visa fee of N27000

V.O.: Private or Public School?

V.O.: Have you funded your Blocked Account? With how.much

V.O: How much is your tuition?

V.O.: Have you paid any amount to the school?

V.O.: Who is your sponsor?

V.O.: Why this course?

V.O.: Why Germany and not US, UK or any other English speaking country?

V.O.: What's your plan after your study?

V.O.: Tell.me key facts about Germany and please be specific

V.O.: Your bachelor's thesis?

V.O.: That will be all, we will communicate to you via mail, he gave me back my passport and the receipt of payment

In my mind I was so that's it, I just thank my God as I was walking out of the Embassy, even the guys at the security we're surprised that it was fast, the guy we entered together was still being fired questions by the lady... I left the embassy at 7:45, feeling so relieved.
I give God all the glory. Once again guys, thank you very much for your help and support.

I am not surprised, only if you know how long i have been preparing for this interview, its not a matter of being a genius or not, i booked my visa appointment since April and i have been following this thread silently since the beginning of this year. The answers i quoted in my transcripts were truthfully the answers i gave and it was for the benefit of those who may need more facts during their interview, whats so special about my responses when you can easily get them online too.

Only if you knew how long i have waited for that interview, and for your information, i could not apply for visa interview last bcs according to the embassy last year, the consulate general was already booked out, it was painful and i didn't give up but instead, i went to Goethe Institut to register for A1 to aid my visa application despite my work schedule , just to improve on myself.

and yes i really prepared for the interview, some of my answers were paraphrased but the were my candid answers. It is not your fault though and i could have ignored you. Now i see why some people don't really like giving their transcripts or just giving brief ones.

Please dont let the guy's response discourage. the Dammy guy is just being a nuisance and seeking attention. I sincerely appreciate the fact that you shared your transcripts, i have gotten some pointers for myself sef. Congratulations in advance.

One of the most anticipated gists is here, people refer to it as transcript, so i did my interview this week. Here is my experience.

Arrived at the embassy at 5:30am for my interview scheduled for 7 am. I met a man who is the opposite of Mr Paulinus or what is that his name again sef, i don't know this man's name but from his character and approach, he is a direct opposite of Mr Paulinus. I was the first person out about 5 visa applicants and he helped all of us one after the other in arranging the documents through his calm instructions.
By 7:10 am, they sent us inside for interview:

The moment i was invited inside by the V.O, my heart pounded small but my other parts of the body remained sounded.

V.O: Your documents
Me: here please

VO: Your visa fee of 27k
me: i quickly removed 500 naira from the 27,500 i was holding sharply (no time).

VO: Your school of admission?
me: Technical university of Berlin

VO: When did you graduate?
me: 2013
"The VO was using one small address system and it was hard for me to hear him once, i kept saying pardon!!!

VO: what have you been doing after graduation?
Me: After my graduation, i proceeded to the Nigerian Law school and was called to bar in 2014, since then, i have been a practicing lawyer.

Vo: Have you funded?
me: Yes

Vo: How much did you fund?
me: 8640 euro

Vo: who funded it for you?
me: (for my mind abi this guy think say i be yahoo boy), My elder brother funded it for me

Vo: what does he do?
me:He is businessman

VO: what is the name of masters program? and Why this course?
me: Masters in European and International Energy Law and Bla bla bla

VO: Did you learn German?
Me: Yes, i learnt the A1 level at Goethe Institut in Lagos late last year eventhough the language of instruction for my course is English Language.

V.O: Where is language certificate?
Me: its part of the documents i handed over you sir

VO: Tell me key facts about Germany
me: Germany has an estimated population of over 82million people according to 2015 report of which 59.4% of this population practice christian faith, 34.4% of this population are those people who doesn't identify with any religion and 5.5% of this population practice islamic faiths and teachings. Germany is a technologically and economically advanced country with high importation and exportation, the political system of Germany is federal, parliamentary and democratic system of government, the president is the head of state and the chancellor is the head of government. The president performs ceremonial functions a little like that of the queen of England and the chancellor carries out executive functions. In the area of education, Germany has quality education and they take pride in it, that is why germany has the highest number of noble prize winners and the first winner of this prestigious award is a German called Wilhem Roentgen who got the award in 1901 for his contribution to physics through the discovery of xray.
"i was surprised when the V.O still asked "is that all?
i quickly continued to add that Germany is home to the largest energy sector in the continental Europe and forerunner in the renewable energy deployment, at the moment, Germany is embarking on energy transition i.e. moving away from mainstream source of energy like thermol fossil fuel into full renewables such as wind energy, solar energy, biomass and biogas and all these sources will bring depletion of green house gas effect and will bring peace to global climate change.
The V.O was typing as i was given those responses.

VO: Tell me the name of the German President and Chancellor
me: Frank Walter and Angella Mekeil respectively.

Vo: What do you intend to do after your program?
me: to pack my load and come back,,,lol " my response was that, i have a plan to come back to Nigeria and initiate proposals and recommendations to various govermnent agencies responsible for energy in Nigeria on how we can also improve and have a formidable energy sector. (Eventhough na lie, who get time to come back here come dey suffer).

V.O: Thank you, we will get back to you and do you have any question.
me: (me that my leg was paining me since, question ko) lol. NO SIR!!!!

lol. Thanks man especially for the fact that you told us the actual answer you gave not the usual 'i answered'

Good evening guys

I just noticed that the German embassy guys just updated the 'Checklist for Students and Language Course Visa' document. The updated date (July, 2018) is also clearly stated on top of the checklist, no much difference with the former though, but the most outstanding difference there is that motivation letter is boldly stated HANDWRITTEN. So i guess typewritten motivation letter will no longer be accepted.

Be informed guys!

U can confirm it via thier site

I just received my blocking confirmation from Fintiba this morning. ( I was expecting it on Monday, didn't know they send mails on weekends.)

I funded through Form A with Stanbic IBTC Bank on the 28th of May. They completed the transaction on Friday 8th of June(yesterday), almost 2 weeks after applying.

They charged me 426.7/Euro. and a service charge of approximately N33,000.

So, anyone looking at funding with Form A and is ok with the charges can go to their head office. It is located on the same street with the Germany embassy (Walter Carrington).

Will forward the Blocking confirmation to the embassy by Monday. Anyone with the right Email address should please assist me with it.

Congratulations!
Thanks for the info!

Perhaps you didn't explain well to them. Form A can also be used to pay Living expenses which is what the blocked account is for.
But, you will need an official breakdown of the leaving expenses signed and stamped by your school for the bank to process it for you.

Has the funds been deducted from your account for the Form A schools fees payment you made??

Hmm na wa, my school had sent me a signed document stating the official breakdown of the living expenses thing, but what they said in Zenith Bank is that Form A for school purposes has provision for only TUITION, like i went to both branches and they said the same thing.

No, they havent yet, it is only the Form A processing charge of N5k that has been deducted.

Go to Zenith bank, Ikeja just before the bridge. I went to confirm. They asked which country and how much, and told me it's possible. Form A. I haven't actualized it though.

If it is the one at Oba Akran, please this info is wrong. i spent my whole day there today trying to explain to them but i was told its not possible using Form A except u open a domiciliary account, then do a direct transfer to your account, even at that you still have to source for euros from the black market to fund the domiciliary account before u can transfer.

My issue is not even with the form A, i used form A (Zenith Bank) today to pay my admission fees but they said Form A cant be used for blocked account because the account i am funding bears my name. Well next stop now is Union Bank, HQ as suggested here by someone.

Since you have already gotten admission but need to still send certified documents, you can use your admission letter.
