Ikemefuna44: Yorubas are treacherous. I have lived and dealt with them all my life. They will betray you at the slightest opportunity. More so, they are cowardly. Trust Yorubas at your peril.
GO back to your hole. There was never a time money crom the North was used to develop to lay the foundation of oil infrastructure in the south.
Susu888: Just sit back nd watch us take it. When money from the north was used to lay the foundation for the oil infrastructure in the south we didn't hear pim! Its a single fucking country , the north shared its wealth with the south nd we shall collect our fair share from the south's cake as well. Nonsense nd stinginess
NCNC was not created by Macauley but by a group of Nigerians which included Macauley.
MetaPhysical: Ok, so straight and direct to the point, this morning I am going to write about political fortune...or misfortune....of Ibos in Nigeria, with its impacts for 2023.
Good morning my people!
First and foremost, let us acknowledge the Yorubas and their gratuitous influence in modelling, shaping and uplifting Ibos in the political history of Nigeria. I say this because in the history of political activism in Nigeria and partisan politicking, Yoruba is the vanguard of social and economic progress in this Nation, whether in the 1800s, the 1900s or the 2000s. Colonialism came to Nigeria through the bombardment of Lagos in the war of agidingbi in 1851. By 1951 Lagos had become the hotbed of political activism and a host to many economic migrants who had come to Lagos to earn a living. Many of them later followed in the footsteps of Yoruba activists who pioneered liberty forums and political action groups that demanded representation in the administration of government. Migrants created ethnic social groups to represent their town affairs in Lagos. Towards independence, many of them ended joining political platforms pioneered by Yorubas. One of such examples is the entry of Ibo town union into NCNC, which was created by Herbert Macauley, a Yoruba. The entry was facilitated by Nnamdi Azikiwe, an Ibo, who later joined NCNC and succeeded Herbertt Macauley after death. On becoming its President Nnamdi Azikiwe turned the erstwhile national party into an Ibo party. Hence the first political party in East was NCNC. Prior to NCNC Ibo had never formed a political platform party for government representation. Their successes in NCNC, while it lasted, is owed to the pioneering work of Yoruba political activism in Lagos and Ibadan. When Yorubas in NCNC realized that their party had lost its nationalism under Azikiwe, and had progressively been turned into an Ibo party they departed, one after the other. Soon after Yoruba departure from NCNC its fortunes changed, the party withered, and could no longer secure the many successes it had before. NCNC became a subordinate partner to NPC, with whom it went into alliance to form government. This was reflected symbolically in the position given to Azikiwe as President of Nigeria, while NPC man, Balewa, held the reins of power in the Pime Ministership.
After the war, in 1979, Azikiwe returned with a new party called NPP. The party came third behind NPN in popular and electoral votes. UPN, a Yoruba party, scored the highest count. NPP had a struggle winning in its own region in East, whereas the Yoruba UPN won every state in West and Bendel and many legislative seats across the nation. UPN victory was challenged in court that its win was not spread across the nation, hence the case of 2/3rd coverage. UPN victory at the polls was overturned and NPN was declared winner. Immediately after, Azikiwe announced a alliance with NPN. Thus NPN/NPP formed ruling government while UPN was opposition government. Inspite of the experience as a ruling government twice, East had nothing to show before or after. Meanwhile Yoruba was the opposition party in both the first and second republic and it was very successful in establishing many social programs and developments in West. One of its legacies that survived till today and doing extremely well is Oodua Investment Corporation. The participation of Ibo in rulership in first and second republic was a misfortune because Ibo gained nothing out of it beside symbolism. North built an oil refinery, created a Northern Development Corporation, created newsprint, and many other tangible assets. Till today East has no development corporation, whether govt sponsored like in North or self-sponsored like in West. While North developed industrial complexes in Kaduna and Kano, and West created industrial townships in its region, the only prominent industrial complex in East was located in Port Harcourt. What has Ibo gained in its political partnership with North in our first two republics? Symbolism. thats all...and even that symbolism was subordinated to North as the default ruler.
Since we started this new phase beginning 1999, PDP has enjoyed unwavering and committed loyalty and surrogateship from Ibo. Yet it continues year after year to secure Ibo alliance and guarantees without offering any substantial gain in return. When is PDP going to make an Ibo the uncontested candidate in a presidential election? By uncontested I mean there will be no primary held. Unanimously declare an Iboman the PDP flag bearer.
I must say that Ibo people themselves are not political jet-setters. If they were the ongoing events in Edo State will play out differently. I must highlight this with precision.
It is obvious that Atiku has been overbearing in PDP. He has activated political groups, he has dispatched PDP governors to engage and bring success to Edo. So we can say Atiku is the helmsman in PDP. Well, in comparison, Atiku has not given to PDP half of what Ibo has committed in money, time, sacrifice. Atiku has not shown interest in 2023 race and he has not endorsed the Ibo aspiration for the position....in fact he has been silent on the matter. So why is Atiku so passionate about Edo win for PDP? Because it adds credit to his sagacity and reinforces belief in his capacity as party leader....a father! If Ibo people are sincere about 2023 presidency, Edo should be their battle...a testing ground. An Iboman should be the one directing affairs of what must happen to get victory for Obaseki. The more PDP wins in SS, SE, the better the chance of an Iboman winning 2023, therefore Ibo has a far more burden of success to win it for PDP than Atiku does. Atiku has defected between parties so many times there is no assurance he will not again defect if he sees better opportunity elsewhere.
Atiku, a Fulani, is at the helm of a party largely cemented with commitments in East, and eyeing forward to a nomination that rightly belongs in South and to the Ibos, meanwhile in APC, Tinubu is also at the helm of affairs. Where is Ibo helmsman, and what party is he leading? We can't find him!
So tell me how an Iboman is going to be candidate for PDP or APC in 2023 when Atiku is already showing moves for PDP in Edo and Tinubu is receiving visiting APC caretaker committees freshly appointed by the president. Where is Iboman?
Sammy07: lol, why must I be scared when I know the person that hand over South to North, When I know those that organized the first coup, when I know the person that starts the end of regional government, when I know those that usually votes the North instead of south (Except 1999 even tho, he was a Fulani puppet)
My point remains.
What must be done to unite south lies in 2023. The investments of both regions in different parties. Igbo in PDP Yoruba In Apc. if the political parties don't field it like this then forget it.
See cowards. You won't fight for youe freedom and you won't allow tbose who seek their freedom from subjugation. You don't see the unfairness in using state violencen on peaceful demand of political subjugation.
kuuljay: Why not send your boys to defend your land oh! I forgot they are in Lagos threatening tinubu
pazienza: "With the war ended, and as a Commissioner in Rivers State, I soon found that the Rivers State for which I had fought did not end my nightmare. In the first place, oil money from Ogoni country (as well as Ijaw country) was being carted away to Lagos, leaving the Ogoni illiterate and backward. This is anti-federalism".
The war involved the three major ethnic groups: Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani. Two out of the 3 majority ethnic groups aligned to fight the one of the ethnic group.
Between the Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani who was the real winner and loser of the Nigeria-Biafra War?
T9ksy: @ bolded.............................and so it was the "function of Nigeria to worry about the idiotic shenanigans " of Lt. col Ojukwu a year later and (gladly), he Oju-Iku was dealt with like a common criminal that he is.
The main differences between the two are: 1, whilst Boro's struggle for freedom accrued few dozens of lives, ojukwu's impishness cost millions of lives, and
2. whilst Boro was captured and humiliated incidentally by the bearded monster from NNewi, ojukwu suffered no physical damage to his being (or his immediate family) and he actually fled to exile with suitcases full to the brim with proceeds from the Bank of biafra which was ostensibly created to finance Ojukwu's war of freedom(sic).
See your miserable life. You are more worried by the violent statement of Kanu even though he has never killed anyone or taken arms than the Fulani terrorists that has killed and massacres thousands of people - including women and children.TUFIAKWA!
MinorityOpinion: Below are the violence inciting statements Nnamdi Kanu allegedly made;
1. "...When we speak, the Zoo trembles, that is what happens when a cattle rearing terrorist and paedophile is your ruler."
2. "If you find anybody in your village asking after Radio Biafra kill the baboon Awusa Fulani or Yoruba bastard. Let them keep searching as we keep tweeting for #Biafra."
3. "Buhari is a shameless Paedophile and rapist."
4. "Buhari is a Terrorist he should be killed."
5. "Nigeria is a zoo and everybody living in that Godforsaken zoo deserves to die."
6. "Kumuyi should be stoned and dealt with thoroughly if he comes to Aba for his planned crusade."
7. "The imbecilic Goodluck Jonathan is a disgrace to humanity and deserves to be skinned alive for handing over to an Hausa goat."
8. "By the time we finish dealing with the animals in the zoo, there'll be none left to tell the story."
9. "We are assembling weapons and we need some more money to thoroughly equip our military to enable us unleash mayhem on Nigeria."
10. "Niger Deltans are cowards; we know what to do to them. Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Cross Rivers State are our territory and anybody who tries to oppose us will be crushed."
11. "Buhari married his wife after raping her several times, the records are there."
12. "No Ibo man should attend any Church where the pastor is a Yoruba man, they are criminals and fools."
13. "Nigeria should prepare for war, we are coming to annihilate you, my secret service are already studying the zoo and strategising."

Seeiously you think Yoruba will win 2023 Presidency
DenreleDave: Ok.. Don't worry...after yoruba win the 2023 election, we will consider Hausa igbo in 2031.igbo for vp oooo. Not president.... My, is that okay.
See your selective amnesia and blissful ignorance in full display on social media You acrobarically jumped from Zik to Ojukwu - an interregnum of almost 25 years- without mentioning that Ojukwu fought a 30-month war to prevent Arewa hegemony at its embryonic stage while Yoruba under the Awolowos leadership fought against Ojukwu and to use your words ,sucked "Gowon's dick' to enthrone Hausa-Fulani domination of Nigeria.
JAMO84: Azikiwe sold you to your Fulani slave masters. Ojukwu also sucked Shagari's d!ck after he returned from hiding. Don't ever in your life blame Yoruba for the calamities your ancestors brought upon you
SmartProf: Very surprising. Plants should be built where there is proximity to the major raw materials, so why is the southeast not the proper location for this project? For whatever false justifications we get later, I hope the south is watching how to handle power whenever they clinch the slot of president. One southerner did clinch being president and without remarkable projects in the south, almost immediately began building Almajiri schools for northerners, and gave them so many juicy appointments just to appease the north for re-election support. Yet he was booted out to continue his second term and beyond in Otuoke
Go back to the hole from where you crawled out. There is no ambiguity about the definition and content of restructuring in a multi-ethnic and multi- entity like Nigeria except the confusion in your head who is self-inflicted.
dayumite: To me, I think restructuring will only happen in this country when we get the true definition of restructuring. When we talk of restructuring, it's obvious we are talking of the system. Now which of the system are we talking about, is it the political system or educational system or judicial system or economical system and so on. So when we talk of restructuring in this country, we have to be specific.
Ndigbo-obsessed but blind to the interest and future of your ethnic nationality? You spend more time vomiting verbiage on Ndigbo issue than issues that will determine the survival of your ethnic nationality. What a waste of time, energy and intellect
First, the agitation for Biafra precedes " when power change hand" assertion. MASSOB has been in existence since the 90s.
Second, there is no correlation between the agitation of IPOB or what you term as "hate" with your so-called "but when power change hand"
Reason? The average Nigerian, regardless of his ethnicity, has never benefited from Nigerian Presidency. In a dysfunctional society like Nigeria, political position - elected or appointed - only benefits a select lucky few - the appointee , immediate family and hangers on. It does not benefit the grassroots. All we have from almost 6 decades of post-colonial self-esteem government unbridled misgovernance. If this were the case, northerners would have being enjoying the best economic condition and Ndigbo, the worst.
But the reverse is the case. All we've from almost 6 decades of post-colonial self-government is unbridled misgovernance
Only structural/institutional/systematic change benefits the large society and unborn future generations. That's why majority of Igbos represented by IPOB/Kanu are fighting for restructuring/fiscal federalism or outright separation. And that's the reason why Yorubas like Tinubu, Fashola and co. advocated for the same issues when they were in opposition.
So your hypothesis:
"When things were rosy, you were loving one Nigeria with the Hausas but when power change hand, na when you hate Nigeria"
is a false hypothesis. It is not supported by empirical evidence.
Talking about hate, how do you define hate?
Is calling for restructuring hate? Is asking for a referendum to decide who wants to remain or quit Nigeria hate? Is criticizing a civilian administration hate? Is calling Nigeria a zoo hate?
What actually is your parameter of being a hater.
You need to be unambiguous with your words and concepts to make semblance of meaning.
MinorityOpinion: When things were rosy, you were loving one Nigeria with the Hausas but when power change hand, na when you hate Nigeria. You should be ashamed!
JAMO84: Useless write up. When we voted Jonathan in 2011 and he abandoned us for Igbo and Hausa, you people were happy that he was marginalizing the Yoruba, after we destroyed him, you began to cry like egbere
That money alone is worth a COUNTRY'S national budget.moreover it's animals like Invictus Obi and hushpupi that makes things difficult for Nigerians at the airport.before you even open your mouth, just being a Nigerian they're already on the alert perceiving you as a criminal ,419 or thief and I wouldn't blame them.
Let me just go Yoruba, awon Nigerians tibaleje Gann.both the educated and uneducated it's sad
Thelimitbreaker: Don't mind them, the fear of Tinubu is the beginning of everlasting wailing. Wetin Tinubu do them... The same reason why they hated Awolowo unto this day. Any reputable leader from the south west is their headache
How is Kanu attacking Yorubas? How many Yorubas have been killed by Igbos in igbo land, Yoruba land or Hausa/Fulani land? How Yoruba have been killed by Northerners? Specifically, how many Yoruba leaders have been killed by Igbos compared to Northerners?
You more worried by Kanu's verbal insults than Arewa North historical killings of Yoruba in Nigeria(When to look beyond Kanu's insults, he's telling Yoruba of Nigeria to stand up and fight for their liberation from Areas North hegemony)
You Ndigbo-obsessed but Yoruba issue/Yoruba interest/Yoruba future lethargic. What a tragedy?
llakes4real: Tell that to Nnamdi Kanu and others who are actively attacking us.
What would we gain? Yoruba is not Igbo enemy. It was a tragedy that you aligned with the North to fight Biafra. Ndigbo have always being safer in Yoruba land Ghandi Hausa/Fulani land.
llakes4real: Liar!!! We know you guys are waiting to do your own back!
