Romance / Re: My Igbo Fiancy Introduce Her Lover As Brother For Two Years by UcheUwadi(m): 5:39am On Mar 25, 2010
Why do you have to mention her ethnicity? Was that all needed, or are you trying to insinuate that all Igbo women are like that?

Romance / Re: Wife Wins $9 Million From Husband's Mistress by UcheUwadi(m): 4:50am On Mar 25, 2010
Oh my! That should be a wake up call to all the mistresses in North Carolina. It doesn't surprise me that it was a southern state. The part of the U.S. with supposed conservative values.
Politics / Re: Quebec Is A Country Inside Canada, Watch Video. Yorubas Can Be A Country. by UcheUwadi(m): 8:21pm On Mar 24, 2010
9jaganja:

That's why Canada is a joke to us south of the boarder. Quebec is like Biafra. They also lost and since they lost to the Brit, they've been trying to leave Canada. But Quebecois are a bunch of jokes. They only threaten to leave when Stephen Harper doesn't do as they wish. Bunch of hypocrites. Canada is politically divided.

Not true, Canada is a very progressive country compared to the United States. That is why they have true universal health care, while the U.S. is only has the foundations for universal health care. And you are comparing apples with oranges. You cannot compare Quebec with Biafra. Why must Biafra always be mentioned when it is not the subject of discussion?

If you have never been to Canada, I feel that you have no right to speak ill of the country. You cannot talk about something you know nothing about.
Politics / Re: Have Nigerian Taxi Drivers Suddenly Become Rich Or Telling Fantastic Stories by UcheUwadi(m): 6:48am On Mar 24, 2010
I do not see how people could become wealthy driving a taxi in the United State unless they own a fleet of taxis and lease them out.

You can make enough money to get by, but become wealthy? I do not know about that. Now I do know some Nigerians who drive a taxi as a side job, but they also have a main job.

However, since the dollar is worth more than the naira, people could use it to build nice homes in Nigeria, but not in America where most people do not even own homes. The banks in America owns the home, while people pay mortgages.

What's prode got to do with it undecided

Pride in one's self. However, I did some valid points that people have made, with people stealing other people's identity. This is the world we live in these days unfortunately.
Politics / Re: Be Counted As Igbo In The U S 2010 Census Now On-going (deadline Is April 1) by UcheUwadi(m): 2:31am On Mar 24, 2010
Well I did my part and put Igbo on the U.S. Census without forgetting my Black American roots as well. As the saying goes, "I killed two birds with one stone." Nothing wrong for wanted to be counted in the United States. It brings more knowledge about the diversity of the nation.

I think all African ethnic groups in America should fill out their ethnicity on the U.S. census. I know the Caribbean Americans are doing something similar to this. They want to distance themselves from 'regular' Black Americans.

Since most whites in the United States see blacks as one people, this is further from the truth in which there are many layers to the black 'race.'
Politics / Re: Sharia Law - Nigeria - Is This Our Future ? by UcheUwadi(m): 2:22am On Mar 24, 2010
frosbel:

lol, who told you that, go and ask Iraqi, Syrian and middle eastern christians.

Or even better since you are a Christian not under Sharia, go to Saudi Arabia and steal a goat and see what will happen, lol. grin grin grin

True, most Muslims today do not practice what is preached in the Holy Qu'ran, but I am simply stating a fact. Sharia Law should never be applied to other 'people of the book.' Even the Prophet Mohammed, stated that Muslims should respect the traditions of others, since we all people of the book.

However, the nations that you mentioned, seem to marginalize their minority religious groups instead of accepting them and embracing diversity.
Sports / Re: Britain Deports Its Five Gold Medal Nigerian Hero by UcheUwadi(m): 12:03am On Mar 24, 2010
This doesn't make sense. What threat does this man pose, since he is in a wheel chair? I agree with the poster above me, with all the radical people living in that nation, they decide to deport a man who is harmless. What he did was careless, but give this man a break. He will not be able to receive the same treatment in Nigeria unfortunately, and that can mean life and death.
Politics / Re: Sharia Law - Nigeria - Is This Our Future ? by UcheUwadi(m): 5:36pm On Mar 23, 2010
Sharia Law has been outdated. It is still in its Middle Age phase. No one said that the Sharia Law should stay static. As society progresses, nothing remains the same. Laws must be updated, to keep up with the times.

However, Sharia Law should only impact Muslims. Not Christians or other non-believers. The Prophet Mohammed never intended for Muslim laws to be enforced on other people of the books since we have our own laws.
Politics / Re: Jonathan To Meet Obama In April by UcheUwadi(m): 5:24pm On Mar 23, 2010
I take it that he will be meeting him in Washington DC. Not too far from my place. Anyway, this is good I think. I wonder what they will discuss. Maybe oil and the religious violence in the Middle Belt.
Politics / Re: National President Of Arewa Youth Forum Warns Jonathan by UcheUwadi(m): 3:11pm On Mar 23, 2010
Interesting. I do have a problem with rotational presidencies. It should be man or woman with the best credential should get the job. What region you are from should not determine if you should become president.
Politics / Re: Split Nigeria: Gaddafi’s Comment Should Be Re-examined –peter Akinola by UcheUwadi(m): 4:50am On Mar 23, 2010
Of course it should be 're-examined.' There is no need to dismiss a possible solution to the many problems plaguing Nigeria.

All options should be on the table.

babaearly:

u talking about threadstarters?i see none of those tribalistic posts.except u havent found out where d tribal board is.

All you have to do is go through the different threads, and you see the post always turn tribalistic. It is like some of these people get pleasure, for mocking another group. It seems like Igbo vs. Yoruba or Everyone vs. Hausa-Fulani. We are all human.
Romance / Re: What Would You Do? by UcheUwadi(m): 3:56am On Mar 23, 2010
Tell the friend that you see him as a brother instead of a lover. If he is a real man, he should be able to take it. A lot of men actually become friends with a girl, because they want to be their lover. However, they fall into that buddy category in they can't leave that area.

Now guys are happy when an attractive female friend of theirs want to take it to the next level. Women on the other hand, are different. Once, you are in the buddy category, there is no leaving.

And if he can't handle it, then he is not worth being your friend.
Politics / Way Too Many Tribalistic Threads & Posts by UcheUwadi(m): 3:50am On Mar 23, 2010
As a person who just started posting in this discussion board, it sickens me that many people who post on these threads are tribalistic. I have seen at ignorant post insulting the Yoruba people, I have seen trash post which bash the Igbo people, and I have seen people attack the Hausa viciously. Come on people, some of you need to act your age.

Instead of looking for the differences among us, look for the commonalities.
Family / Re: Do I Have To Confess My Adultery To My Spouse? by UcheUwadi(m): 3:41am On Mar 23, 2010
If you must cheat and you are remorseful, take it to the grave. That is the best advice I could give you. What she don't know, wont hurt her.
Religion / Re: Women In Trousers: Heaven Or Hell by UcheUwadi(m): 3:34am On Mar 23, 2010
I never read that in my Bible. These preachers need to preach the word of God and stop with this inflammatory rhetoric and just preach the word of God!

Disgusting. What is the problem with people in this world? Some people need Jesus.

I am sorry, but I would leave that young lady if I was him. Was it by force, or was it willing?
Romance / Re: Whats Your Take On Casual Relationships? by UcheUwadi(m): 3:00am On Mar 23, 2010
Interesting concept. I do not believe in a 'casual' relation. Relationships should be taken seriously, since you are playing with a person's emotions. When dealing with someone's emotion's, you have to be very careful.
Politics / Re: Describe Nigeria In One Word? by UcheUwadi(m): 2:58am On Mar 23, 2010

However, with the way things are looking, my faith in Nigeria is not on solid ground. I will just take the wait and see approach.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Pledges Accelerated Diversification Scheme For Nigeria's Economy by UcheUwadi(m): 2:57am On Mar 23, 2010
This is very good news. Diversification of the economy is a must, because the oil that is beneath the ground will not last forever. An overreliance on one commodity leaves any country vulnerable to change in demand. This is Economics 101.
