Go to your bank to update your correct email on your BVN. I had the same issue too but was rectified by my back and was able to receive OTP.

N.B make sure you go to the bank branch of the bank where you registered for your BVN. All the best.

Jobs are not really available for Nigerians as it used to be before. I know someone who just relocated on partnership visa and no job yet. It's been 4 months now

Relocating with personal visas or residents, most times don't give edge over job hunting.
Companies prefer you to be on their Visa, so you will be 100% loyal.

Don't complicate issue for yourself.
UK require a valid international passport not minding 6 months validity we all know.
You can use it for the process and renew it in UK by December.
