Kylekent59: Why do Doctors and nurses wear the mask?
Now let us do an example
You and I are sitting in front of a Covid-19 infected person.
I am on my mask, while you are not on your mask.
While he was talk, he coughs directly at us.
You inhale the contaminated air which have some droplets containing the virus
I inhale the contaminated air which have some droplets of the virus
My mask will definitely protect me. what about you??
Illiteracy is not only a disease but a failure.
Just because you don't have money to get a mask doesn't mean you should come online to give people false information so as to suit your mind. What of the droplets entering your eyes or is the mask still protecting the eyes? |

OP and the poster below him did a wonderful job to explain this clearly but in my own opinion, I now believe they are saying the same thing. I dont know if christians believe in Muhammed existence but both believe in Jesus existence and his supremacy... OP as you said that the prayers start with la ilaha illa Allah There is no god but Allah Then why adding the last part and mentioning Prophet Muhammed? Muhammadun rasool-Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah That's the same reason why Christians add Christ to their prayers too... |

Kylekent59:

These pictures of your are marvellous. Explore is one of the man I respect so much on Nairaland. His post are educative, simple, well analyse, and most important back up with pictures of different view.
Nice one.
Now I wanna comment based on what I have seen.
The Nigerian style says a lot about our country. If you observe the second pic ( The one Nigerian police men are monitoring a church) , you will find out that we are not ready in this country. The should lead and control by showing examples like wearing a mask, putting on hand gloves,..etc. It is a good thing they maintain a distance of 1 meter.
How could they carry out the monitoring without using protective materials like; hand gloves, nose mask, hand sanitizers, B bags... etc.
If one person has it in that limited space and coughs in the air, then they all are at a very big risk of contracting the virus.
Observe the other ones, like the Ghanaians. See how coordinated they are; by putting on their mask, wearing their hand gloves, and also in B bags - in the third, fourth and fifth pics to be precise
These people are more coordinated than us.
We use paint to shape a square on the ground so as to ensure social distance, but over there, they use circular foot-mats with labels - in the sixth and seventh pic compared to the 12th pic to be precise
It is now clear that an oil producing country[Nigeria] doesn't have what it take to tackle Corona virus. Our leaders have bastardized the country.
Let us learn from that supermarket : in the first pic.
We can fight this virus with the little things we have. The greatest thing we have now is our "brains "
We don't have to wait for our failed governments to come and fight it for us.
If you own a nose mask, start putting it on as from today. Forget and don't give a am about what people say.
When you pass by and they chant, '' corona corolla,'' don't mind them, but tell them you are passing a message.
Finally, I don't even want to criticise because I know the country I am in. In one of the pictures explorer uploaded, I see a hand sanitizer glued to a tree, that's very good, but I think that can't work in Nigeria - in the 15th pic to be precise
When you do such, be ready to see it stolen when you look the other way after you might have tied it to a tree.
I just hope and pray we all combat this virus and take the decision on social distance very seriously.
Good a.m to you all. My heart melted with this write up, You summarised it all, We play with everything in this country, We are not the serious type or should I say we are criminally minded that we dont always do the right thing in this country... I weep for my country! How can we fight this Coronavirus that is already here with us if we dont apply the right measures that countries above us applied... Imagine police men that came to raid a church because of not abiding by the rules of combating this virus failing the rules too, no handgloves, no face mask, nothing nothing... Our problem in this country is that our leaders has deceived us enough that we now believe every story coming from them to be deceit. 50% of Nigerians or above still have not believed that this virus is real because they dont have time to surf the net. Nobody should tell me that those agberos will comply to carrying only one person, if that will be the case, then know that government is opening taxi business for the bus drivers because the masses sitting at home without any other source of income will be paying through their noses to survive... Some will even take this as business opportunity... How do we handle this? I WEEP FOR MY COUNTRY... |

Suggestions, advice, talks and opinions are welcome on this topic...
Doctors, microbiologists, pharmacists, biochemist, nurses and all health workers even others can still contribute and educate us on what we the masses dont know about this problem.
If you see the rate this virus has been causing economic meltdown all over the world, my people una go marvel...
Italy, France, UK, UAE, US, South Korea, Iran, China and a lot of functional countries has been on lock down for a long time now, which is the first time I am witnessing such a thing since I was born.
Is this the end of the world? Wont this displace a lot of people? Wont there be food shortage in the world? What of the world economy nkor? Wont a lot of people go back to the village because of this?
We as businessmen can not get visas this days to go for our businesses and as long as we can not get Visa to the country of our choice, business will be near dead...

Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by uchman(m): 5:53pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
afelouz: Hello everyone,
About three weeks ago, we welcomed our son and I immediately kick start the PR process.
I had to wait and do all this stuff so I can write a comprehensive post and I hope someone will find it helpful..
We had our baby in Sao Paulo, I don’t know if the process is different in another state.
Immediately after the birth of the baby, we were given a document that I took to the Cartorio to register my baby and get the original birth certificate of the new born.
A few days later, I proceeded with the baby’s RG registration at Paupa Tempo, (RG is the citizenship card of the Brazilian child and you need to make an appointment before going to Paupa Tempo), baby’s picture was captured and we were given a date to come and pick up the RG card.
With those two documents, I can now process the PR for my family and also apply for the baby’s International passport.
Below is a list of documents needed to process the PR.
Online application form confirmation page Photocopy of all passport pages Child birth certificate Child RG Birth cert translation ( embassy) Police report translation ( embassy) Original Police report cert in English applicant CPF Payment of 168.13 reais, 204.77 reais each or the PR application A lot of declaracao (declaration) such as:- Declaraco de endereco electrónico e demais meios de contato Certidao estadual de criminais Certidao de distribuição Declaracao de residencia Declaracao de manutenção Prove or address in Brazil ( bill) 2 passport photo
As for the baby’s international passport, documents needed are:-
The Brazilian child birth certificate. The Brazilian child RG Parents international passport, 5x7 passport photograph of the Brazilian child Online application form Some declaração (declaration) Payment of 257.25 reais (Both parents must be present)
After getting all the documents in order, we went to police federal and submitted the PR application. We now have our protocols while waiting for the actual CRNM card... We applied for the baby’s passport also and still waiting to pick it up.
Now, the process is not so easy as stated here, in fact, I got frustrated and misplaced my phone in the process. Despite reading the requirements here on this thread and having someone who has gone through the PR process here in Sao Paulo who helped me with the list of documents needed, yet, they didn’t collect our application. We went to Policia federal about 4 times before getting the complete documents. If you meet Mr ‘A’ today and he says you only need one documents and everything is good and you go with the requested documents and meet another person, that person will ask for another thing.
The language is a big barrier so Its better to get a sworn translator or anyone who can speak Portuguese to make things easy… they won’t read whatever you translated with your phone at Policia federal and most of all these places
NOTE - The PR application now takes less than two months In Sao Paulo, in fact, my friends who applied around ending of January got the CRMN card first week in March, that’s about a month.
As for the Nigerian visa for the baby, I'm still waiting for the baby’s passport and making enquiries. As soon as I am done with that, I will revert.
We didn’t get to extend our visas as the timing was right and we applied before our 3 months entry stamp expires.
I'm still gathering information on the provisional citizenship. hopefully, I can apply for my daughter before leaving Brazil If I get her CRNM card on time.
Also, If I remember any additional information regarding the PR process, I will come back and share….
Thank you all and good luck to those waiting to get their visas. Nawa oooh! To be a man is not a day job |
Travel › Re: My America Journey... by uchman(m): 11:47am On Mar 16, 2020 |
alaborvik: I am writing this to let people back home know the reality of living in America. Before I left Nigeria I was working with MTN in Lagos and earning over 125k before tax. Though traveling out has always been on my mind but I didn't take it that serious. A friend told me about a seminar a traveling agent was putting together and he convinced me to raise the 300,000 naira needed to "try my luck" as he puts it. I gave him an upfront payment of 50k with an agreement to pay the balance if I am issued a visa. To my greatest surprise I went for the interview and the whole thing took less than 5 minutes. I was issued the visa after about only three questions. I didn't even had time to tender my resignation as I boarded a flight less than 10 days after picking up my passport. I traveled to America in 2015 with very high expectation. Even from the minute I touched down in New Jersey I started having doubts. My friend who agreed to accommodate me starting showing a strange attitude towards me less than 24 hrs in his house. He made life hell for me and I was forced to leave. He helped me with the connection to rent my own apartment using another person's name. I did all kind of jobs using people's document. I started seeing the desperation of Nigerians living here, even those with green card. I ran into a friend who won the visa lottery around 2011 and to be greatest surprised he was asking me money. He was sharing an apartment with a guy who came here 11 years ago.
My people America is not easy. When I visited Atlanta I found out most of my friends we attended LASU together were mainly into fraud and act as pickers for people. I was tempted to join them but I can't live a life of crime as it never ends well. Things got so bad for me and I had no option but to get married to an akata girl so I can upgrade my status. I pay the rent without her contributing a dime. She even invites her family members to come eat my food and sleep in the house. I am now a slave to this girl because of green card. Most blacks in America are very lazy and unproductive. I have many begged me for money to pay for their phones. Everyday I regret ever coming here, most of my co-workers back in MTN have visited on vacation and gone back to continue their career in Nigeria. Anytime they inform me they are coming I change my whats app number. My life was far better back in Nigeria. If only MTN will agree to take me back I will be on the next available flight back home. The bills here in America is crazy, and most people are left with just 100 dollars at the end of the month. Americans are not rich, in America 20 dollars is God. I wanted to make this long but hopeful I will share more light soon as the comments starts coming in. Thanks my dear readers Why dont you have a skill? Ok, let's forget skill... Why dont you want to go into Business? You think money grows on tree? No brother! You must be doing something before money will come out from it... While doing that petty job that pays $2000 or less, Why not invest some part into business. A lot of things are not expensive in US like Used cars, used auto parts and others... Move out and enquire from guys that send cars and car parts to Nigeria how they do it. Maybe you want to carry big money at once or you are just lazy to move around and ask question. 50% or more of guys in US deals on used cars and auto parts... You want to go back to MTN and be earning 125k... Hilarious |

seyithug: Boss, you don talk am finish. I love your analysis. Well detailed. Indeed, even if it's 500k traded off between the affordable luxury models and the Corolla, it's better to buy that comfort and luxury. The Corolla is overrated, in my opinion, and even the 300k+ difference, as analyzed, in its favor is simply because it is in high demand. The car shouldn't be more than N1.2million, like most of the cars in its category, going by @amdman's fair TLC prices . The Corolla's high demand is fuelled by the fuel efficiency stereotype. And, with more users of a car model, comes availability of replacement parts in the spares market. It's not rocket science, just demand and supply.
The Toyota Prius model remains the most fuel efficient Toyota of all time, year-on-year. Yet, you won't see many of it on Nigeria's roads. Why? If Nigerians love fuel efficiency so much, why aren't they buying the Toyota Prius?
In my opinion, the Corolla-or-nothing mentality is poverty-induced. Some people are not poor, but they are also cautious about displaying any signs of (enjoying) wealth. They can afford a 2010 Camry Hybrid with thumbstart ignition (which has similar or better fuel efficiency than the 2003-2007 Corolla), but they're afraid to spend or enjoy money or look rich, not just for family or friends that may come to them with financial requests, not because of 'village people', but because they have a poverty mentality. 'Shebi car is car. Make e just carry us from point A to B', they say. They're afraid that the money will finish soon, or that they will die sooner than later, because they 'dared to enjoy life'. Nobody is pursuing them, they're the ones, deliberately, limiting themselves. When you, eventually, realize that this life is actually too short to make shitty Corolla choices, you'd adjust your mentality, and buy what you know that you'd love driving, a car model you'd love to be seen in/that can go places, and can still afford to maintain. No be say you go buy your Corolla kon dey admire person wey dey drive Nissan Rouge, Infiniti, Honda Pilot, Ford Edge, Acura MDX, Honda CrossTour and the likes, and you still need to park your Corolla some miles away from an event, make e no be like say na Uber you carry come. People don't even desire to take pictures in/with your car. Because.... Fuel efficiency and spare parts. LMAO.
Eleda mi o ni je ki n make stupid choices, laye mi. Ase. Amin. Amen. Stop addressing Corolla as stupid, the money wey we use buy am no be here... It's all about choice as you said... Some choose comfort... some choose efficient... Dont expect a trader to be running around daily with big cars... Imagine the scenario |

Even, i am sure China as a whole will experience very low application this period because people will be boycotting them because of this Coronavirus issue. That means, the few or us who will be bold enough to apply will stand a very high chance of getting in.
People dont even know that China has been able to curb the virus to a large extent. The pattern of the disease have been understood and there are no new cases now, only that most suspected cases are fast becoming confirmed cases. Plus, people are getting cured even.

OlakunmiSMELTD: Thanks for the advice. About starting business and watching it grow. It is never a fact that 100% of people must do business or good in business, some are best in education or working alone. So no matter what business you open for them. Forget it , it will collapse. I have 5years experience in sales and marketing. So am talking from experience.
People talk about Starting business, I just laughed. 60% of business man and woman in Nigeria run business on loans . Businesses requires grace of God, capital, good location and government help. My brother Nigeria government is not helping.
Secondly, for those who are not good in business, and want to travel for job hunting. Please let make sure we have a good working experience like he says, Authenticate your certificate. Read all the pages again, pick some better information And travel to take a step. I have some years of experience in drink production company, well known production company in Nigeria
A good sales experience that I can't work with your company and not see impact in one month.
But Nigeria company will still be paying you 60k, 80k with this Lagos Expenses. But if you re earning more than 120k above, think well before traveling.
So, if you think it worth going and want to take the risk. Take the step, even life itself is a risk.
You talk about Canada express, my brother. Do you think Canada express na 1milion? Or just a month process.
My advice is you can use Dubai as a stepping stone, while hustling in Dubai, be trying other shengen countries through study channel like Germany, Finland , Malta etc. Rather than sitting down in one place and having the fear of failing . You can do all this process online yourself There are free or low tuition fees in most of the Shengen countries
Best of luck You are the man... |
