Hi, I got a dell inspiron 15 3521 laptop that all the USB port stop working.

I have updated the drivers and chipset still not working.

I have reinstall window 10, still not working.

Gurus what can I do

Is it that it doesn't show any sign of light or when you connect any external device like phone it only charge it but can't recognise it for you to transfer files?

If there's no sign of power then it can be fix but if there's a sign of power but not communicating with external device,I'll suggest you use it like that because the PCH is faulty.

I created a bootable USB drive and tried to install a new operating system, it successfully loads but when it gets to the point of picking the partition to install it, it shows no drive found, asking me to load a drive what is the solution? 1. Have you confirmed that the HDD or SSD is properly connected to it connector?


2. Is it a 10th/11th gen laptop? If yes you need to install a particular drive inside the flash drive,load the driver and install it before you can see the partition.

Fault : shutdown after 5sec

This mobo was brought in for repair, according to the engr it powers on but does not display to screen.
.I believe he must have done his own troubleshooting before concluding,so I didn't bother to test it.

I reprogram the BIOS chip but problem persist, after checking,I noticed it powers on and shutdown after some seconds.
Voltages were available on the coils, there's no short and processor was getting a little heat.

I check the DC to DC section and notice voltage on source of Q7151 was missing,I run a jumper wire from pin 1 to pin 4 to force switch the voltage.

After this ,processor was heating and mobo display fine.

I noticed the anti spam bot always ban me for using a certain word,I've been banned severally whenever I post that kind of issue here,so I'll omit the word in any of my post.

I selected 64bit during installation but it still failed after the first restart during the installation it shows THE CPU DOESN'T SUPPORT 64BIT ....an error message that it doesn't support 64bit

I have tried windows 8.1 64bit ...it is the same error that the system doesn't support 64bit

It is not a mini laptop, I know how to perform the installation via cd and also bootable flash. ..but it still giving me error that the system doesn't suuport 64bit...but if I try 32 bit it will go successfully

Just just select 64bit instead of 32bit that's all.

Btw do you have the iso file with bootable flash or do you have the CD plate?
