nextstep: How many of his contemporaries are actively building a USD $15 Billion project, with confirmed work on the ground, and a solid commitment from all stakeholders? If somebody like Innoson was building something of this scale, and didn't get the same level of support, then we can compare and contrast.
Of course, CBN's commitment is a result of lobbying and requests, just like in other part of the world. I don't think the Fed in the US, or Bank of China will just support a random business without lobbying, phone calls, and visits. If his contemporaries don't ask, they won't get, and it's up to them to complain that they are not getting the level of support they need.
CBN has said simply: you bring this type of investment - which obviously needs a ton of forex - and we're here to help. It's a sign to other investors, local and foreign; to Dangote's suppliers in Europe, India, and Asia; to members of the foreign press; to shareholders in Dangote locally and abroad; and especially to naysayers in European and American industrial communities whose business would suffer because of this refinery: this project is not going to fail, and the Government has the facility to support it. You have a point.... But scratch this part "European and American industrial communities whose business would suffer because of this refinery" That is not going to happen Win win it shall be for both parties 650k barrels is not enough to cause ripples to foreign suppliers in bulk. if we are talking 5m barrels then that's a big deal |

vioment: You do well chairman. Try harder over there. Nigeria is a dream killer, mediocre praisers, cult infested, evil thought filler, very dirty and combustion fume infested air space. The worst part is that we are not even trying to right our wrongs. The only thing that Nigeria has going for it is music and movies - whereby both of those are being challenged daily; our movies have nice story lines but either the sound, the lightning, the background music, is messing it up; but atleast they try; which is what a collective nigeria is not doing.
We have turned to loud mouths, heavy and minute to minute liars, fake egos, we dress clean in very dirty surroundings, tribalism is rampant, religious sidings are there, etc No respect for nigerians in nigeria. I still believe it can turn around but honestly it is a hopeless get rich quick place. Nigerians don't read books anymore outside of internet post. Get rich quick to oppress is what we prefer. hmmm how does this relate to the topic tho |

Debra911: Well that's ur theory & u believed it cos you've seen it work out. But on my side Two of my beautiful friends who lived such lifestyles married rich good men,but are barren now(just 4yrs)& thanks to God one of them gave birth last year June, but this baby has bin on oxygen & after an ECG, it was found out that d baby had mycocardiac infarction. But thank God d babe survived it all,it was a narrow escape, but the husband spent hell of money. while d other the other hasn't gotten a child, like I know places she visits without her husband's knowledge just to get d fruit of d womb. The husband s so caring but d mother inlaw s head ache, and as I'm talking to u now, despite how loving the husband was ,he still had the guts to impregnate another lady outside & bring into d house and was telling my friend that he already paid d girl that after one year , d girl would go and d baby become theirs. This arrangement was between d mother inlaw & d husband, my friend has no choice but to deal with it. Now see how complicated the whole thing is. But this my friends husband s so rich and many ppl see her has blessed but never knew wat she's going through. The story goes on&on. I can't convince u on ur already believed fact based on ur experience, this s wat I believe in &It has been working for me, I never lived such life ,I'm a med student and my fiance s so blessed. I wouldn't say my life s so good than my friends, just like u initially said, wisdom s needed but its good u allow ppl see d bitter truth about life, what goes around will surely come round, if not now but later years and after years, the truth will surely stem up. Its a pity good men fall into victim, but who are we to blame, since the guy already promised to love her both in good health & bad, he has to carry his cross and love her to d end, that's d marriage oath. That's my own philosophy of life and I don't regret any of dem There are so many good girks who got married and are barren too My aunt married as a virgin decades upon decades ago And did not have her 1st child until after 12/13 years to my cousin Was it her fault ? NO I think you all in Nigeria need to get something straight life is NOT mathematics with certain answers There are so many possible results. One can be a runs girl and get killed One can live a rough life and it ends well for them One can live a good life and life shows that person pepper One can also be good and be blessed beyond measure. but in naija It's one dimensional thinking All good girks will end well (no matter what) And all "bad" girls will end badly. (regardless) it is mentality like this that has made so many girlsin nija be disillusioned and discontented because it was drummed in their head that they are ENTITLED to good menjust because they are good life no be like that o |

lonelydora: CBN, if you need a witness, i will volunteer myself. I have been a victim of this many times.
They intentionally load the counterfeits into their ATM. I almost sued for one bank (name withheld) for this. I withdrew from their ATM and went inside to pay for some services which required me to show the bank teller used in paying.
Surprisingly, the lady brought out about 5 counterfeit notes from the bundle. I told her i withdrew it from their ATM, she refused to take it. Omo, i raised hell inside the bank and demanded they should provide the video evidence unless I'm heading straight to my lawyers. Na so, the bank manager came out and was begging i should take it easy. He saw how serious i was and knew i was telling the truth. That's what saved my day.
