CAPSLOCKED: MEANING YOU WILL BLAME ME IF I GIVE YOUR FAMILY A DIME? HAHAHA JUST THINK.
WHETHER 1 NAIRA OR 1 MILLION NAIRA IT MAKES NO SENSE PAYING TO MARRY YOUR PARTNER.
SOME IGBOS CLAIM THE HUGE PAYMENT IS USUALLY TO APPRECIATE THE GIRLS FAMILY FOR RAISING THEIR OWN DAUGHTER. SO I'M WONDERING WHO GETS TO PAY THE MAN'S FAMILY FOR RAISING HIM?
THIS IS NONSENSE. I totally agree. even tho I am an igbo man myself, I don't fancy that concept of "huge, mighty bride price" or even bride price itself. But its not a crime so I have no problem with those who do it. But as for me, and my family, we are not paying 10 kobo, neither will we accept 10k for our daughter's. But the rest can do as they like |

abbey621: I agree, in all honesty proper discipline should be a mixture of positive and negative reinforcement. I do tolerate an occassional ass whooping or spanking when the act is more than outrageous especially with boys. I'm just worried that the U.S is getting worse and worse each day! As much as Nigeria is a shithole I cannot imagine myself living forever abroad, I cannot imagine my kids marrying an akata or white woman or even worse end up as collateral damage in this gun and drug infested nation. May God help us all! yea yea I was in Nigeria this past December, and with what I saw, I don't ever think I'm going to ever live in that country again. what ties me still to Nigeria are my parents when the inevitable happens to them... The connection between me and the country will be severely weakened. The world has gone bonkers, it's not just an American thing stealing of pants and increasing ritual killings and child rapes in Nigeria is just one side to the many ills plaguing NIGERIA |

abbey621: We have to be permissive because places like U.S are not only targetting physical abuse but emotional abuse. Kids are calling cops on their parents when yelled at or scolded. There is an enmancipation clause in some states where a 14 year old can move out and live on his or her own. Depending on the school, kids bear their minds to school counselors who in turn contacts child protective services and from there, say bye-bye to your kids. What I've seen that works is have those kids exposed to the Nigerian enviroment, I've seen parents bring their kids for summer holidays and have them spend few nights in darkness, heat and mosquito. The result is often miraculous, for example when a niece of my friend starts wasting food, we just play her videos of kids starving in Lagos from Youtube and she becomes sober, the guilt alone makes her behave for weeks. I'd rather not take my kids to NIGERIA That $hithole is a poisonous place for my kids to grow. ... But I have to say, seeing the shithole's state is enough to humble kids. in France ), French kids of African descent are threatened with being sent back to Africa "Je vais t'envoyer à l'Afrique" And the kid will go Like "Pardon Papa, Je ne veux pas aller en Afrique" So yes, it might work. But Like I said, Proper discipline is key, and living by example my nephews for example are well behaved kids. and they are not beaten like goats. Proper discipline and living by example once more is key. all those laws were put in place in response to the side effects of abuse of the old order of beating folks like goats |

dasparrow: @Post
I don't know her full story but if I am to go by my observation of how most Nigerians treat their kids, I would say I am not suprised. A lot of Nigerians are not fit to be parents. They think they can take their archaic, abusive parenting style to the western world and not get in trouble. Ha! exactly! You are to DISCIPLINE a child from day one, not brutalize The kid. we don't have discipline anymore, and that is the problem we are having GLOBALLY, Proper discipline (not what dumb Africans construe to be discipline, I.e. beating a kid like a goat) is key to raising grounded kids. children are beaten like goats in that godforsaken $hithole are they any better than kids in the west or in the Arab world ? |

abbey621: I live in the U.S and at times will spank my almost 3 year old when he does extremely naughty things, I've also witnessed many non African families in the U.S hat have done the same including one whooping her son right in front of his friends for smoking cigarette. The key here is not to overdo it, abscence of traditional disciplinary methods is exactly why many kids abroad are apoiled beyond repair. Not true in its entirety It's is lack of PROPER DISCIPLINE that is to blame for rotten kids in America, and even in Africa. Parents these days are TOO TOO PERMISSIVE Of their kids, and that is a recipe for disaster |

jumobi1: Nigerians hate each other so much that we refuse to be objective and reasonable. These allegations need to be investigated.
Take for example, I hire a worker but I can’t pay him because I spent all my money. If the following month I hire another worker and don’t pay, must it be concluded that I spent all my money? NO! Maybe I don’t like the job he did, maybe I dislike him for other reasons or maybe I spent all my money again.
The bottom line is that Nigerians have the constitutional right to vote. Any infringement on this right MUST not be justified based on the fact that the infringement is ethnic-group-neutral. Give everyone their PVC. INEC’s negligent or intentional inability to give every eligible person their request PVC should be enough to invalidate election results. It's very terrible if this allegation is true it then means that Nigerians in particular and Africans in general are incapable of being sensible |

ZIMDRILL: if you really deep in text you will understand were he coming from
african and asian culture, makes it as if you owe your parents to be born
they curse at you as if you were asked to be born against their will
african and asian culture parents talk to you as if they did you a favour to raise you whereas you are a product of their love making
they make it as if it was priviledge to feed you and send you to skol but its not, even animals in the wild take care of their young ones without being asked its natural, sending a child to skol is government requirement (law) in nearly every country in the world
but some parents sound as if you forced them to send you to skol they make it as if they had other plans on the money they used to send to skol but per laws its their responsibility and no one else
there is nothing wrong to look after parents, but parents we shouldnt sound as if it was someone's responsiblity when you are the biological parents
there is nothing like i sacrificed for you, aslong your are the bioligical parents it is your responsibility, you can not sacrifice on something you are meant to do anyway
the only people who are allowed to use word sacrifice are those who are looking after someone's kids I get the point too |

haryothosyn93: Some of the people here are fake. They are not what they claim to be, and some comments too are all childish. Not in all cases There is a paradigm shift in how younger Nigerians think and in the coming decades, marriage will increasingly become obsolete. Sad but that is the truth if not for "societal" And "family" pressure which is losing its grip over the younger Nigerians, marriage would have declined much more than it has that's just the truth except you are still living in the conservative bubble |
Romance › Re: Why Would You Want To Get Married? by Ugosample(m): 11:59am On Feb 06, 2019 |
mhisbliss: It all boils down to our societal values, norms and what people would think and say about you if you aren't married, especially if you're a girl, why pop out a baby or two or three for a man without him putting the ring on it and not expecting people to think you're a shameless baby factory who is just cohabiting with an unserious man who loves getting you pregnant?
So beneath all this "I don't care what people think about me" mantra everyone chants, is an insecure and timid person wishing he or she is really about that, lastly marriage gives you a kind of leverage, because in the face of society, you're legal and as a legal partner you kinda have a say when someone is in your turf, and you sometimes get compensation when it hit the rocks, example jeff bezos and his ex wife. societal value my black arse all these right wing conservatives sef |

The north has 19 states and the South has 17 states SW has 6 SS has 6 SE has 5
All Buhari needs is 25% of 19 Northern States and the 6 SW States. That's all. Any other one na jara.

Politics › Re: Looking At Sokoto, Jigawa, Zamfara And Kano 2015 Presidential Results by Ugosample(m): 9:56am On Feb 06, 2019 |
Jones4190: Do you know that if you remove 198, 248 votes that Buhari got in SE and add to Jonathan’s 2,464,906.00 votes, that Buhari still won the election 2,175,263 votes? Also, if you take the entire SS votes (418,590) to Buhari and give to Jonathan in addition to the entire SE votes to going to Jonathan, Buhari still won the election by 1,338,083 votes. What this means is that with the entire SS and SE voting Jonathan, Buhari would have still won the election by over 1.3m votes. Okay, you think Jonathan got no votes in the North? You are wrong. In NC he got 1,715,818 votes, in NW he got 1,339,709 votes and in NE he got 796,588 votes. So he got a total of 3,852,115 in the North and if those entire votes are given to PMB, he would have won the election with over 10m votes (19,277,036 vs. 9,001,047). Okay, you think the voting pattern would change this time as two Hausa-Fulani and Muslim brothers are running? I think so too. But the first point is that you that is NOT a Northerner should know that your vote is insignificant. The North and to some extent the SW will determine who will always be the President as far as politics remains a game of number. Okay, to that your thinking that the voting trend would change. Yes, Buhari will never, I repeat will never get only 7% of the votes cast in SE again. never! They can’t write results again. I am confident of 35% at least. And in SS, I am confident of 35% at least. 55% at least in SW. And in the North, Jonathan got 24% of the votes in 2015, I am confident that atiku cannot get more than 35% of the votes cast in Northern Nigeria. And in absolute figures, Buhari would win by over 3m. Anyway, the main issue here is that our votes in SE and SS can’t change anything if PMB gets 70% or more votes in the North and 55% or more votes in SW. Please stop making noise if you don’t have electoral value. what is this dunce saying if you subtract the margin Buhari used to win Jonathan in the SW in 2015 (about 600k) ; Buhari would still have won the election by more than 1.5m votes does that mean that the SW have no electoral value You dunces from the SW refuse to use your brain there is no such thing as a region without electorAl value in presidential election EVERY VOTE COUNTS |

SaiAtikuTill203: the first step towards progress in any democratic society is never to allow a failed government return to power. Even though I thought and knew Buhari was a higher evil than Jonathan, I was happy at Jonathan’s defeat, because it meant that Nigerians had learnt not to repeat failure. Whether or not the coming elections are rigged, Nigerians must once again show their power against an incumbent failure. This is a way to build up an ideology against bad governance and myopic leadership. It does not mean that I think Atiku is far better than Buhari, but I know that Buhari has done nothing that warrants his re-election.What conscience has buhari to ask Benue, Taraba, Niger, kogi, Zamfara, Adamawa, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa to vote for him after "deliberately" allowing fulani herdsmen to kill thousands of their people and rendering many homeless? Is it not shocking that over 73 people were killed in Benue in a day by people who are still in our midst? Why is Buhari protecting serial murderers like the fulani herdsmen? Why have we not seen any serious effort from the govt in arresting and prosecuting these mass murderers instead of asking Nigerians to submit their land for ranch or be killed? Is anything wrong with those supporting Buhari or are they part of the killer-herdsmen? Mr Buhari lacks the least of competence required to be a modern president. A good leader protects all his nationals including those who hate him but Mr Buhari is very strange. His ethnic and religious infantile chauvinism has polarised Nigeria the more. Nigerians on social media now wage rabid inter-tribal media wars instead of tackling the real issues threatening our existence. How would you expect people who were buying a bag of rice for 9k, a litre of fuel for N97 to buy them at 28k and 145 respectively, to be happy, to praise you and vote for you again? Have their brains been rewired?jubrin has rape nigeria first lady, the wife of the late mr buhari. interesting |
