samysmoothfresh: From your write up, here are
A) Reasons why you should not quit the relationship
1) you love her.
2) you just recovered from a messy relationship and she somehow found a way to break through the barriers you must have set round your heart which means she's prolly special or has something in common with you.
B) Reasons why you should quit the realtionship
1) she doesnt accept her faults and sometimes you have to apologise even when she's wrong..........................she's proud!!
2) she keeps late night, go to concerts at 12am with friends who according to you aren't "presentable"....................she's a slay queen and prolly a wild rebellious one too!!.
3) she puts her friends first before you notwithstanding the fact that you guys who are supposedly in a relationship havent seen in a long while...........................she's insensitive and a member of the "hoes before niggas" gang!!
4) she keeps secrets and claim to "forget to tell you"......................she's not to be trusted!!.
5) she keeps and move with friend who arent "presentable" and by presentable i assume you mean they dress indecently.......................theres a 65% chance her friends are runz girls and an 85% chance she herself is a coded runz girl!!!.
OP, i'm asking you, should you quit the relationship?
yes or no? twale baba *hands in the air* your papa born better pikin |

he! he! Thanks for the suggestion punishments is punishment you have to start from day 1 He breaks a cup, he is not getting another one in a while, nor using cups When you use what Yoruba people call "Abo"" for two good weeks the chikd will know better than to break cups You break the bulb in ur room, you all will be in darkness for a while (scare them a lil bit too, next time, they will be careful You did not do your chores No goodies for you plus extra punishments You did not wake up in time to wash the car young man you are TREKKING TO SCHOOL You pick a fight on the street (my God! you are FINISHED!) The list is endless tho I'm just giving specific examples, and one has to be flexible about this The way I wrote it up there is not law, just an illustration Just make sure that bad behaviours do not go unpunished FROM DAY 1 |

Mizwisdom: When you beat your child in Nig. can he or she call the police on u? when you do it abroad is it a possibility or not? So how can you say moral standards are the same? thsts not a good compass to measure morality in my opinion There are disciplined, as well as useless children aplenty in the west There are disciplined and useless kids in Africa too So as a parent, the onus is in you to raise your kids well And parents that are good examples and are role models are more likely to raise good kids than the "do as I say not as I do" parents |

toboy: great points there! I haven't been in Nigeria lately, so you definitely know better as to how things are changing. However, it is also important to look into some of the points raised by individuals abroad too, cuz they know how it feels here too. I followed up the news with drug abuse in Nigeria. Correct me if I am wrong but it was Codein abuse with one of the cough medicine. When I complain of drugs here I mean cocain, Lysergic acid diethylamide, mushroom, edibles. etc.. Up to you to weigh which is more dangerous. Flogging and bruatality is not a sign of proper upbringing. I agree. Just for learning sake, what other suggestion would you recommend for proper upbringing? For homosexuality and cross dressing, Its because the Nigerian society does not tolerate such they hide in shame for something that is not their fault to begin. I think its better for those individuals to migrate to other places where they are accepted, if they can. Actions have consequences That's the best way to raise a kid..... From the beginning, every time! a child does wrong, make it clear that he has done wrong (reprimand) etc and let them face the consequences of their actions That way, the child will better I don't rule out flogging completely tho, as long as it is at a young age, and its done in a humane and not animalistic way. To me, flogging should be for SERIOUS OFFENCES but flogging day and night, all the time, for whatever is not the best |

There are others, but just check that one out now now and see. People like him won't be bold 20 years back I'm very sure of that So NIGERIA is basically the same baby mama, gangs (they call it cult here) drug abuse, 419, etc etc |

African moral standard are higher.
why do you try so hard just to defend developed countries. you are basically jut obsessed with the western materialism and consumerism, Africa has higher moral standards? ? This guy must be a joker With so much dishonesty and confusion, pretence and hypocrisy, you really think Africa is a better moral pedestal? You are tripping The first lie / training of dishonesty a lot of African parents instilk in their kids is.... you want to know it ? justwise: You just jumped to a completely different topic which got nothing to do with your previous post.
If you like raise your child in a church a bad child will be a bad child, days are gone when moral standard is higher in Africa, infact kids are more likely to be abused or raped in Africa with little or nothing to be done about it than in the west. I read his comment and I was laughing hard to myself Africa don cast in that regard too What you think you are 'saving" your child from in the west is abundant in Nigeria Who would have thought 20 years ago that many Nigerians IN Nigeria will come out as homosexual and a cross dresser Today, it's rampant as for drug abuse, it's equally rampant (worse in the north tho) The wild life common amongst youths in the west is same in Nigeria So how do you think a child raised in Nigeria will automatically be better off JUST because he/she was raised in Nigeria Wherever you are, install proper values and manners and leave the rest... Flogging and brutality is not a sign of prpoee upbringing, especially if the youth still is a degenerate |

danthamccoy: And their reasons are wrong. There are lots of people who are legitimately wealthy in this country. I will not agree 100% tho with "lots of people" Most people who are wealthy in Nigeria have dipped their hands into one shady thing or the other Take that from me. Though the room to succeed without doing shady stuff is there, the room is narrow. You will most likely bribe, cheat, counterfeit, front for someone, run powder business (if you know what I mean) amongst others (getting a contract from the gov't, running a smuggling racket, etc) The main room to succeed in Nigeria is if you have carved a niche for yourself on the cyberspace, and a few other millennial opportunities Apart from that, good luck to you. that's me being realistic You really think you can pull N500m just like that I laugh |

Mothermarie: We can't even compare Nigeria to Liberia. If u live within the capital, u might still have a feel of civilization, but aside the capital, all other places are far from civilization. They still live in d stone age, and that is the Truth. But the good news is USD to Liberia dollar is 1: 156, so u can see it is still better than naija exchange rate. If u can get something doing, earning in USD can b d best thing that will happen to you.if u have a vocational work, or have money to manufactur product, a teacher or doctor. U can fall in.
Governmt owned universities is free for Liberians. They only use that to encourage them cos they finish sec schl.poverty level is high, so schl is d last thing on anyone s mind.lastly I wanto strongly discourage you to go for univ here. The curriculum are outdated and might not b acceptable elsewhere. A gigantic $hithole from the airport to the roads to the people.... Liberians are even looking for ways to come and hustle in Nigeria and Ghana sef And they often thought I was this "big man" from Nigeria they don't know we are just managing the truth is that Nigeria is a $hithole; but less of a $hithoke than many many many African countries Countries witg better living and prospects than Nigeria in Africa are not more than 10 |
