PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Sex is a human activity that men and women engage in.

The invitation if true goes to show how stupid and myopic the FG is. The 'lifeless' comments is just a private discussion, which Trump can deny anyway there's nothing formal about it.
Even if Trump afiirms it, what can the FG do?
Ask Trump to apologize or what?
Send the US ambassador away from Nigeria?
Close the US embassy?
Impose sanctions on the US?
Impose higher tariffs on US goods coming into Nigeria?

What can Buhari do?
No mind them

"" Give honor to whom it's due, dasall ""

Where is the honour in closing down over 5 ports in eastern nigeria n allowing only Lagos ports to import n export products to and from a nation of over 150 million peoplehuh

Most parts of sapele port has been converted to a naval base.

Onne port was converted to a naval base by Obasanjo.

Burutu port is moribund, courtesy of Dem dem.

warri port is moribund.

Calabar port is inactive.

Onitsha river port has been left to rot.

"" Lagos is just blessed to be positioned where they are ""

This is a very stupid statement n can only come from someone who missed education n attended only schooling.
the geographic position of Lagos is one of its biggest advantages
Being a former fct ialso added to it's advantages

Lagos being Lagos is not about the ports, that's what you guys don't get

you sound like one of my uncles who keep shouting that "Nigeria is keeping us down" bullcrap

reviving the ports will nit scratch Lagos much really because you think up to 20% of the population in Lagos will just move eastward because of the ports?
you are tripping
Kano is up north, has access to no port, yet more populous and prosperous than any state in the South minus Lagos

So go find another excuse

This assertion is debatable, and holds no water imo.

The fact is Nigerian leaders are very lazy and self serving hence they always tow the path of least resistance; focusing on HERE, NOW and the PRESENT ; just like in this Lagos Ports case.

For them, Lagos is easier to manage. It is safe and free from restiveness. Lagos also has the population to consume the highest chunks of imports, hence nearness to the market.

This is synonymous with what happens with Kano, where all the imports through the Northern Nigeria borders first goes before it’s offloaded into the markets and then transported back to the border towns as sales orders. These are purely business decisions by concerned stakeholders.

Most of our leaders are not known for long term vision or diversification. Awolowo- yes. Others I’m not too sure...

Those nations that are doing well today had great leaders with far reaching visions. They were very fortunate!
exactly my point

the NPA is not ready to invest a lot of money to upgrade some of the other ports, after all that are all there to steal

So they use the functional one they met on ground, and milk it.

Lagos is the nerve centre of Nigeria, and the conurbation should have spread into ogun state as well, but just like every where in black Africa, the leaders don't think long term at all.

There should have been multiple routes between Lagos and Ogun States, and even within Lagos, most of the goodies shouldn't have been concentrates on a small island

Lack of planning killed this country

Nah, California aren't same with the Lagos case. Lagos economy is bigger than that of many African countries because other ports in Nigeria were all closed forcefully to allow only Lagos ports to be active.

If Nigeria opens calabar, rivers, delta n anambra ports today, Lagos revenue will crash within a few weeks
you have come with this baseless argument again undecided

Did they tell you that the ports are not working in the delta?

Even if all the ports work up to fill capacity, Lagos revenues will not still take a dive too much, because the FG collects the revenues from the ports.

Lagos is just blessed to be positioned where they are, that's all, and with the advantage of being former fct too, and attracting top talent from across Nigeria and even some other countries in Africa

Give honor to whom it's due, dasall

WHY CAN'T WE NIGERIANS SHUN EVIL?
Ghanaians, Togolese and Liberians were in our land from the '80s to 2000s, yet they were not known for crime.

Why do we Nigerians therefore gravitate towards crime; this hustler mindset of jungle-like dog-eat-dog of making money fast and quick at the detriment of fellow men, will not land us on good shores.

RappersNigerians, let's fix our lives- M.I

Our society is to blame for all these mess (at least to an extent)

When we have put enormous pressure on ourselves to "make it at all costs" and the "if you no get money hide your face " mentality plus making people feel worthless for not having a pile of cash to even those who have managed to have a pile of cash oppressing those without the cash.

All these things that our people do culminated into the desperation we see.

I have stayed in other African countries in the past, and volunteered in others

I have not seen people desperate for money and fast life in Africa like Nigerians

A strong currency does not necessarily mean a strong economy. It can make sense for an economy to have a weak currency. I personally believe a country like Nigeria does not need a strong Naira, provided it gets to full production capacity.
Japan and South Korea are developed economies, and are where Nigeria will not be in 50 years today

Yet their currencies are weak
Business › Re: When The Naira Was Stronger Than US Dollar (Throwback) by Ugosample(m): 9:08am On Aug 28, 2018
4Play:
It was the "strength" of the Naira that was its weakness. When the Naira exchange rate is stable despite high inflation - as in the 1970s - it makes our economy uncompetitive and acts like a subsidy of importation. Such a real exchange rate appreciation (inflation adjusted appreciation) is disastrous for the tradable goods sector.

Think of a groundnut exporter in the 1970s whose input costs are rising as labour, transport and fuel become more expensive. Unless the currency depreciates, his business revenues in Naira will stay the same. This will make it impossible to continue to operate such a business. This is effectively what helped crush our non-oil sector.
At last, somebody with sense

Nigerians are quick to compare Nigeria with US.

I hope they are learning. California is only one of 50 states in US.

Nigerians prefer welfare State than being proactive. Begging and solicitations have been elevated to an art forgetting that no nation or people ever begged themselves to prosperity.
