FrankNetter: How I overcame Homophobia
Believe it or not, Nigeria(ns) are one of the most homophobic people on the planet, I was not an exception. I was most homophobic; not until I left Nigeria. Working at a fast paced job, where you meet different persons with different personalities, you would come across some weird stuff. You come across gay people, people with tattoos covering every inch of their skin, piercings on every part of their bodies (including tongue and _nipples ). I had not encountered any gay person up close and personal until one dude was employed at the store where I work. Being naturally observant, I noticed the boy was different. Being Nigerian, I noticed he is gay and thus, my nigerianness kicked in, I avoided him, I saw him as sub-human and I would cringe at the mere sight of him. I did not see anything wrong in what I was doing. Funny enough, there was also a bisexual lady working at the store at the same time and I was relating well with her On one occasion, during the normal "down-time" discussions (when work is slow), someone brought up the topic of sexuality, in my characteristic curiosity, I jokingly asked the girl why she's attracted to girls, she said she was led to lesbianism out of the urge to explore, that when she was little, her cousin would playfully start kissing and touching her, and they would trib and she would "get off" and feel happy. I threw the same question at the boy, I asked him why he likes guys, he said he was born that way, that right from when he was little, he had always loved girly things, he had always felt attracted to guys. .
It was then it hit me, it was right there it dawned on me. I asked myself why I was hating this boy? Did he do anything to me? Did he commit any crime towards me? no be my prick or yansh he dey use. My hatred and animosity towards this boy was irrelevant, I could hate from now till next year and it wouldn't change anything.
From then, I made a conscious decision not to hate on gay people. Highest, if I'm in public and I see a PDA between two guys (which is very common) and I feel disgusted or find it uncomfortable, the least I can do is look the other way or leave that vicinity. It's their business what two grownups decide to do with their genitals.
Slowly, I started seeing the dude as a normal person, I started relating with the dude like everyone else in the store. Slowly, I'm unlearning my homophobia. It's good to know that you are not homophobic anymore. But many guys are hypocrites tho If you hate homo, hate it in its entirety, not you liking lesbians, and some mumu fellaa even wanting to have a "party" with them But hate gays and even want to kill them. |

Even after decades of your animal brothers killing my people in the north ( i lost 4 cousins in Kaduna ALONE) shops looted, and even more killings, religious intolerance by your backward thinking people, we still don't hate you. After that mumu guy declared quit notice and threatened my people, we still do not care you But I never saw one aboki come out to tackle this. When I was in the choir, there were about two people then who did all the composition and writing and everything and assigned the parts to the other members. You obviously do not know how band music works. So because Peter sang a part now means he wrote it? Peter did the kidogo verse himself. Anyways sha, he has left Both jude and Paul alone, and disentangled himself from most of the assets they used to own together They can have what is left to themselves. |

You obviously do not know how band music works. So because Peter sang a part now means he wrote it? Peter wrote Alingo Peter wrote other songs.. But as Peter always complained when they had the first disagreements, Jude was picking Paul's songs and sidelining most of the songs Peter did. In every album, it was like 75% Paul song. And Peter did not like that. |

BluntBoy: People can be funny sha. The Psquare we have listened to all these years was Paul. The songs and style of delivery were Paul's. In short, Psquare was basically Paul singing. To tell him to sound different from Psquare is telling him to sound different from himself. Musically, he was Psquare. So what you guys are saying is that Peter never wrote songs throughout their 18 years together for p square? Mumu people everywhere; D So he was just playing while Paul was writing and singing Then when it's time, Peter will just come, do a lip sync and that's all. Ridiculous. Listen to their songs, do their voice even sound the same Listen to kidogo, listen to Peter's part. Anyways, you guys can believe what you want, it's a free world |

I'm a regular visitor to the south and I only eat fish and eggs as part of my protein diet. Even you is saying this Who eats donkey meat in the South? Is that what they are telling you up there? Many of those into meat business here are aboki people like you, so what's the big deal? If you don't want to eat pork, or dog meat, it's fine. Before you realise that this man is an agent of darkness sent to destroy souls and draw then away from God the better. Remember God is not an author of confusion but he has brought confusion in the minds of Christians and some Christian babes have fallen for it. It is very shameful that those of you who support him have never opened your mouth to preach Jesus to another person. Ii think he should sell this wrist watch and give same to the poor since pastors being rich is only from tithe and offerings. Most psstorrs in Nigeria are raw criminals. Don't set your standard on another man's. Don't mind the mumu people saying that Puff Daddy shows off big time. Networth=$830m Donald Trump is a show off Networth = more than 2.7 billion There are more like that, but I will not post here. pansophist: The notion that Africans sold themselves into slavery is a eurocentric doctrine that aims to share the blame and make it seems like the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade are merely transactions that both parties agree to. Instead of unquestionably accepting such notion as a gospel truth, an ordinary curiosity and analyzation will show that it is a historical lie that is still being taught to people worldwide.
If truly, Africans sold themselves into slavery, why is such notion only preached in eurocentric books? why are there no pieces of evidence from the participating African tribes such as linguistic, fairy tales, slaves hosting sites, paintings, etc showing these? Put in mind that slave trade exists for about 300 years. It is impossible for the evidence of such a massive historical event to be reduced to claims that Africans sold each other.
In the book ''How Europe Underdeveloped Africa'', the author described how the white author of a book on the slave trade admitted that he was encouraged by other scholars to blame the slave trade solely on the Africans. This narrative helps to lessen European guilt by making Africans seem just as or even more guilty of being involved in the slave trade.
The holocaust even if fewer in numbers compared to the slave trade and shorter in time span, the evidence documenting its existence is overwhelming such as words of mouth, survivors, extermination camps, pictures etc. To believe that Africans actually sold themselves into slavery, a transaction that they loosed from is wrong. And if we actually did, you would imagine the kind of hate that exists between us to be able to sell off over hundred million people of our kind. Don't expect the guilty to tell you the truth, use your common sense. There is a reason why a lot of Igbo people hate Arochukwu people, because of the role they played in selling us out. This is the one I heard direct from my great grand mother shortly before she died. I also visited the museum in Ouidah, and it is well documented that the kings supported the slave trade, as long as they were collecting their share from the Dutch. What they used to pay the kings are still in the museum, go there and see for yourself. |

pansophist: Can you supplement this claim with verifiable evidence? The guy you quoted is right Even as an Igbo man, i know the infamous role the Aro confederacy played in selling us out to the British and the Dutch The Dahomey king was complicit as well, as he was collecting his own cut from the deal. When they came raiding Abeokuta, it was to carry them as slaves Just few did not get involved. Back then, Igbo land was a thick equatorial forest, with dangerous things in between, you really think the slave traders will just come in like that without help |

donniemc: Did you even read what i wrote
The averagely successful programmer in America makes $120,000 per year (before taxes)
The averagely successful programmer in Nigeria makes about about $20,000 per year (7.5 million)
Meanwhile,
The averagely successful Android / iPhone/ios programmer anywhere in the world makes close to $400,000 per year
That's 3 times more than what an averagely successful programmer makes in America!.
The moral lesson here is to try and publish as many Android / Ios app you can as a programmer which would in turn increase your chances of becoming an averagely successful Android/ ios Programmer so that you can earn $400,000 per year!.
Unfortunately, Nigeria has only a handful of Android / ios programmers (less than 100). majority of the programmers in Nigeria are web programmers!(at least 99.6%).They code with languages like Php(Laravel), Asp.net, node.js et.c....these web languages can help you get a few freelance jobs but ultimately you would not make as much money as even an average mediocre Android developer.
This is why developers in Nigeria are struggling!!. And that is why in my previous post i suggested that anyone considering to learn programming should just learn Android /ios programming (kotlin or swift).
Believe me, there are Flashlight apps on the Google Play Store that make more than $3,000 per day
Here is a link to one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peacock.flashlight
Nothing, Absolutely nothing stops you from creating one yourself!. infact you can even just buy the source code to one flashlight app and publish it on the Playstore. Here is a link to pruchase the source code:
https://www.chupamobile.com/android-full-applications/android-flashlight-app-962
Again, Am an Android programmer,I dropped out of school, i have over 60 apps on the Play store. I make quite a lot on the play store!. I wont trade my Nigerian driver's license for an America citizenship!! Good for you. |
