Its a country of rule of law and 98% of its people also value neat places and civilized way of living .

Try neglect your overgrown lawn, discard trash anywhere you'll be visited and fined or if you live in a dirty uncivilized manner your house will be condemned by city authorities very quick.Your kids might be taken away from your custody too.
This is what I have been trying to explain to some of them

The flooding in Lagos (don't know about Benue tho) is largely man made, due to many of its inhabitants behaving like animals

Throwing their rubbish in the canals, blocking the gutters, litter everywhere, even channelling their sewage (shit) into the gutter.

how will the water now pass?

Did we even build a bulwark, or a reservoir to try to store as much water as it can when the downpour comes? in addition to clearing the canals and drainage?

THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.

When a man has a good car it attracts more ladies to him. When a lady has a good car it repels guys away from her. This is the world we live in.

A teenage boy impregnates his teenage girlfriend. The girl drops out of school, the boy continues his education. This is the world we live in.

A guy catches his girlfriend with another guy, he fights his girlfriend. A lady catches her guy with another lady, she fights the other lady. This is the world we live in.

The older a man becomes, the higher the number of ladies available for him. The older a lady becomes the fewer the number of guys available for her. This is the world we live in.

A 76 year old man can still marry a 26 year old lady. A 36 year old lady is tagged too old to get married. This is the world we live in.

A man divorces his wife today and the next day he is dating other ladies. Six months later he is married. While the divorced woman is is labeled a divorcee and remains single six years later. This is the world we live in.

A married man is caught in bed with another woman, his wife is asked to forgive him and move on. A married woman is caught in bed with another man, the husband asks her to leave his house. This is the world we live in.

A man gets transferred by his company to another state, the entire family relocates with him. The woman gets transferred to another state, she goes alone or resigns from the job. This is the world we live in.‎

If a man rises to be the CEO of the company, he got there by hard work and determination. If a woman rises to be the CEO of the company, she is suspected to get there by sleeping with the Board members. This is the world we live in.

Facts like these make some ladies angry at the world and channeling the anger towards men. For me, that is not the right card to play. Understanding the world you live in should help you play a better game. Playing a better game involves answering the following questions.‎

What can you change?
What can you avoid?
What can you live with?‎

You may not be able to stop the rain from falling but you can carry an umbrella with you. That is what personal leadership is about.
All you listed up there is not exactly the case anymore.

These things keep weakening as the decades go by

More and more women are walking away from toxic marriages
More and more women are remarrying after divorce

And families too also relocate when the woman gets a better job elsewhere too, especially when the money is very good, while in my own case, while growing up, we had to stay put while my father was working elsewhere

my point is...

My little advice , it better you sit down and form your own note/jotter by yourself reason been dat it easlier for your to revise what you have written down in your own language or d way you understand. Also, by jotting them down urself, you are indirectly read as well. I know it is stressful and time consuming but it pays at the long run One more clue for Psaf is dat, make sure you go through the question and answer in d pack, from chapter one to d last chapter cause they repeat these questions with little or no changes. Dont joke with chapter 4, 10, 13, 21 to 29. Questions do come out from the above listed chapter. And dont forget to read that their Ipsas. Thanks.

You're not the brightest of the bunch it appears.

Texas is larger than the entire South of Nigeria. Badagry is four times larger than Freetown. If 1000 people died in Freetown that's not large enough to be a county in Texas, yet less than 50 died in Texas, then it really tells a lot about how much you value lives.

And talking about the worth of damage is a moot point because Nigeria's entire budget is less than $30b (let's not talk about Sierra Leone). You can't lose what you don't have. And it's not like they can relocate buildings and critical infrastructure which make up the bulk of damages.

There have been floods in many parts of Nigeria this year because of the rains and poor drainages. It was the same case last year and the year before. It'd be the same next year. And when reasonable people complain, people like you who see suffering as an acceptable way of living would look for silly excuses to justify the pitiable negligence exhibited by the government.

Later, you'll call their ineptitude, "the little people do." They'll inflate contracts and still under-deliver or outrightly neglect the project, people die as a result, and you explain it away as "the little people do"? Your reasoning is a public hazard.

Even beavers build dams in time to protect their homes from flooding, yet you call yourself a human being after typing the trash you so effortlessly spew. If a beaver is smarter than you are, you need help.

A people surely deserve the leaders they get.

I was wrong to call your comments patriotic, they are disgusting.

Ass-licking?!

You do know that floods, occasioned by limited slides are an annual occurrence in Freetown during the rainy season, right?

10+ people (official numbers) died in 2015 from the floods. The Met Agency forecasts for this year were gloomy prior to the mudslide, and no one needs a soothsayer to predict that a mudslide can happen in Freetown. It's below sea level and surrounded by "heavily forested mountain ranges." Combine that with poor urban development and debilitating infrastructure, and it wasn't a matter of if, but when.

The Netherlands has dunes to protect from coastal flooding because of their low sea level. That's called preparing for the inevitable.

Over here we hope on a Sky Daddy to protect our myopic a$$, when we have what it takes to preempt disasters and do the needful to at least curtail the adverse effects... Yet you have the effrontery to call objective criticism ass-licking...

Tomorrow, you'd head to a Western embassy looking for visa.

If one country have a class structure such as 6-3-3-4 as we have in Nigeria and another country have it, that does't mean they've copied system of education. This's just how class is structured, it doesn't have anything to do with knowledge acquisition. In fact, even if the whole world have the same class structure that's not a problem.

You still don't understand it. The difference is in using your own language to CREATE knowledge and to ACQUIRE knowledge. As long as they study in different languages, that's what make the difference. Each would then go on to discover what they wish to discover in their own way. A linguist was recently interviewed on BBC world service, they were talking about endangered languages going to extinction and the interviewer asked him something along the line of "why should the languages not be allowed to go into extinction?". And he replied "when a language goes into extinction you lose that cultures unique way of solving problem". That's very true!.
Still does not change the fact that Japan copied the German system verbatim grin

For you to understand this doesn't take "a one liner" to explain.

All I can tell you is go and research why the following countries rejected western education; Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia.

However, if I must say further, people like Achebe you mentioned, though he's Igbo, but upon all his literary achievements, he did not add any single word to Igbo lexicon. William Shakespeare added over 2,000 words to his own English language. Achebe would've done the same to his own Igbo language, if he acquired his knowledge in Igbo language. In the true meaning of the word education, such an Igbo writer should've help us coin meaning of words such as; square, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, pyramid, website, home page, e.t.c. We have no meaning for these words, yet we have literary giants beautifying white man's language. He should have been an inspiration to Igbo language first, not English language, because English wasn't his language. All his exploits were to advance the language of white people.

The same thing applies when we study physics and chemistry. In fact, its worse in the sciences. Everything we study is chemistry is white man's opinion about chemistry. We don't add any new knowledge to it. Physics the same.

If you still don't understand it, this's how a white man himself put it to me "Everything around you. Your career, weather engineering, Social Sciences, Arts, Medicine, Your Car, House, Clothes, phone. Everything, I mean everything is a product of white man's Ingenuity".

Your most intelligent black professor is a product of white man's education. All the theories and Formulas he will encounter as a student were all developed by a white man. So please, what can you do without us?".

He had the audacity to say such to me because he understands we're being fooled with what they fed us as education during colonialism. He understands that knowledge is only knowledge, if they say so. He understands they create knowledge and that all we can do in Africa is copy and paste. Yet, the saddest part is that while white people understands the damage and how western education mess up our minds, but we the so called educated Africans don't!.

Read the link on my signature for details.

Also see the documentary below for how Britain brainwashed native Canadians and how they compelled Britain to close down all schools used to brainwash them, and to pay them compensation for fooling them in the name of giving them education.

This topic isn't about language. But, if I must respond, I'll tell you those people in villages don't make the law and they don't control education.

Education is controlled by those who can speak the languages of the master. So, even if a villager in one African nation discover how to solve Nigeria's electricity problem, for instance, and he/she gets discovered, he/she would still have to pass through the master's system of education a.k.a indoctrination where he/she would unlearn what he/she already know and would begin to learn anew how and what white people have to say about that piece of technology. And that's because we have outsourced knowledge creation to white people, and must fold our hands to wait for them to discover what we have to "copy and Paste" in Africa, thinking that's what education is about.
So what exactly is your problem with the education structure we inherited?

Remember that education produced Awojobi, Achebe, And many other great minds in Africa

If we are to learn science, we have Physics and Chemistry in our inherited system

So if that inherited system built them, why can't it build us?

Please no long story, so I read up fast

There's nothing stupid about what she said. How could she be stupid when yourself have pointed out countries using vices in their interest?

You may or may not know it, but what you pointed out there was exactly the same thing Europeans did in Africa and all their other colonies, including in Ghana where that woman come from!.

Africans should go and learn history, including European history, and when they do they'll realize Europeans themselves weren't civilized as at the time they were all over Africa claiming they brought us civilization. Please take note that when you hear of European missionaries and the other invaders, they were not educated people, not even upright people.

The invaders were of the lowest cadre in European societies who themselves were not educated or wealthy. These included carpenters, laborers, peasants, e.t.c. Anybody willing to travel to a colony was qualified, including criminals. In fact, most of the invaders were convicted criminals released from prison, they were unwanted in Europe and had to be pushed down to Africa, the Americas, USA, Australia, South Africa, e.t.c where their services were needed. European governments needed do so because their acts of savagery was needed in the colonies.

Below, I'll discuss one case in Ghana.............just one case out of many.

Britain and France dethroned all African kings and sent many to exile. They then looted their palaces stealing everything of value, and took many to slavery.

In 1896, the British exiled king Prempeh I of Ashanti kingdom for refusing to offer them 50,000 ounces of gold at once, even as the king was begging them he can pay in installments starting with an initial 680 ounces down payment. The British took the 680 initial deposit from him and reneged from the agreement. Finally, the head of the British expedition ordered king Prempeh to vacate his seat and to sit on the floor. When king Prempeh sat on the floor, he sat on Prempeh's official seat and started verbally abusing the king, the Ashanti kingdom, and black people in general with all sorts of derogatory words. When he was done abusing the king, he asked the king to come forward to kiss his boots (his right and left foot) and the king did so. After humiliating the king in the presence of the whole village, he sent him to exile to Seychelles.

King Prempeh in his palace kissing the shoes of British invaders in 1896

Note that king Prempeh did not owe Britain any gold as he didn’t have any business with them; rather, the British heard his official seat was made of real gold, they got jealous and wanted some of the gold. When Prempeh refused to give them gold, they threatened him to provide gold or have his kingdom invaded. The king under fear of exile signed he would provide the gold, but he didn’t have all of the gold at once.

So, that's how white people used their own criminals to their advantage. What do we Africans do? We thank white people for colonizing us and for giving us fake education about what happened.

There's an article here and part of it contain details to some of these things. See http://www.africason.com/2017/03/open-letter-to-african-kings.html
I've started reading your article up, and It's an interesting one, even tho as usual, I don't always agree with everything

But its interesting still.

The key reason why Africa is still like this, is not entirely because of the reinventing, but because Africans has largely been an unserious people for centuries

Over the course of my life, I have visited some villages in Africa where it's as if the colonialists never came there, their language and way of life is still the same; yet it's the same story.

We just need to get up and get serious

And God forbid, reinstating the tyrant traditional African leaders will be disastrous for Africa.

The world has done away with such system, that one is gone FOREVER

Nigeria I tell you is in her last days.
It's a shame, but look at it from this angle....

Do we as a people have real love amongst each other as a people?

It is because they all show love (whether it is real or not is debatable) and help themselves in disasters like this, that is why the world also shows sympathy to them as well.
When you show yourselves love, others show you same, as it resonates

However in our corner of the world, we show it brazenly that we don't like each other (not all of us tho, but a good number of them) so how can the world even care about us.

If a disaster strikes, how mAny of our elite (stars, athletes, politicians etc) do fundraisers to help the affected,?
Even if fund raisers are done, there is the mistrust that, due to the corrupt nature of an average Nigerian (and other Africans too, see what happened in Sierra Leone during the ebola crisis, black man inhumanity to his fellow black man undecided) there is the fear that such money could also be stolen, in part, or all of it.

How many stations in Nigeria show extensive coverage of disaster in Nigeria?

How many churches, with their evil and thieving billionaire pastorrs living la vida loca open shelter homes to take care of victims when disaster strike?
