timijoseph01: Davido hasnt conquered the African market yet...?? You joiking right.. . And Yes,, in the international market,, you are nothing if you havnt conquered the US.. . Just as any artist is nothing in Africa if you havnt conquered the Nigeria music market,, also nothing in Nigeria if you havnt conquered Lagos..!!! That's just the fact. |

ExInferis: Nope.
He hasn't conquered the African market yet.
This is just one more example of our artists' mentality that you're nothing without some form of US presence.
They see the Drakes and the Adeles and they feel the need to be in the same league. That's why they all run to the foreign music labels and look for featurings even with expired artists.
You hardly hear of scandinavian, asian, or senegalese artists rushing to the US to have Drake murmur a line or two in their songs.
Nigeria is obsessed with the white man's validation. It's not really about the validation but expanding your sphere of influence. There is nothing wrong with associating with American artistes at all, as long as the song is dope. |

davidif: My goodness! All this "broke this, broke that" nonsense nigerians like saying is really amusing and absurd at the same time. It's like a beggar boasting to his fellow beggars that he got the biggest crumbs. In case you didn't know, Nigeria is ranked as one of the poorest nations in the world with over 60% of the population live on less than $ 2.00 dollars a day yet you would see Nigerians bragging and looking down on other Nigerians who are less fortunate than they are and call them "broke" when they themselves are either just as "broke" or just marginally well off. It's like someone making 4 dollars a day looking down on someone making 2 dollars a day. It's so ridiculous it's not even funny. Talk about ignorance, vanity, elitism and snobbery mixed up together.
In developed countries like the US you hardly hear the white folks make fun of people because of their socio economic status but its amongst the blacks that the mentality is prevalent. Not to talk of Nigeria, one of the poorest nations in the world where the majority is wallowing in poverty another person would come and be looking down on his fellow man in the struggle and calling them broke just because he managed to get in line ahead of his colleagues this time to get crumbs that fall from the table. Animal kingdom mentality at its worst. Humble yourself before circumstances humble you.
On another note, with all this fascination about "broke guys" why don't we hear topics about broke girls? Why must it be the guy that people refer to as broke? I hardly come on here and hear anything about broke females, it's always the guy. As if the economic situation in this country is different for men and women. Are they not all in the same boat? You have a point tho |

That French Montana/Swae lee "Unforgettable" sounds better and more African than Wizkid and Davido trying to sound American. And what's wrong with that? cyrilfosy: reason why alot of guys don't marry the girl they were dating when they were broke: a broke guy will take all the shit from her because he doesn't have money to start a new relationship. even if she's cheating on him and he knows he wouldn't wanna let her go especially if the girl doesn't demand anything from him. ladies don't give 100% respect to a guy especially if he's broke. in all this the guy will just keep quit and bear waiting till he will arrive. then show the girl who's the man. note: no man will leave a woman that was 100% loyal and loving to him when he was struggling. so ladies should stop all this rubbish of he dump me after I have suffered with him This is SO TRUE. |

musicwriter: Nigerian politics aside, the big picture is Britain is re-inventing slavery for the 21st century. This they must do to be able to survive outside of the EU. When I saw Tony Blair in Buhari's campaign before the election, and later Buhari waiting at the queen's gate in London, I knew Nigeria was about to be handed over to Britain. APC just happen to be the weakest link for Britain to re-colonize Nigeria.
Two weeks ago, former British prime minister, Tony Blair was in Kaduna to give "technical skills" to governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El Rufai on how to govern Kaduna state. It appears the elites have to be first brainwashed to take us back to slavery. You again |

Travel › Re: Why Nigerians Prefer To Live Abroad by Ugosample(m): 3:27am On Jul 23, 2017 |
Nihilist: I think that Life Abroad is better because Nigerians just have no chill.
The last time I was in Nigeria two things happened to remind me of why I'm happy to live away from that country of opportunists
1. We just arrived at MMIA and we're queuing up to at the immigration/customs desk. One elderly woman went to cut in at the front of the queue ahead of a young guy man who obviously resisted. She started abusing him and asking if he couldn't see she was an elder, and that if she cut in, doesn't he have respect? Etc. I could see that she was holding a British Passport and I'm sure she knew that she couldn't try that BS in the country she just came from- Yet here she was, Iya Arugbo turned Gangster Mama...and she hadn't even officially checked in to the country yet!
No Chill.
2. I went to my local bank branch to aclimate my dormant account and apply for an ATM card. Whilst at the customer service desk, everybody refused to Queue and literally just surrounded the desk. Anybody who knows the former oceanic bank at Fagba railway would understand what I mean. Anyway I stood there patiently, waiting for a gap in the human wall to open up so that I could at least be served, when the customer service advisor announced that the computer had stopped working and we would all have to wait for the IT technician to come from another branch to fix. Being from an IT background myself, I offered to, and was able to identify the problem and actually got the issue fixed. Before I could even benefit from the fruit of my own labour, I was promptly chanced by an opportunistic woman who had clearly seen me fixing the damn machine. Other customers abused the woman, but she refused to back down. It was only when the customer advisor refused to serve her until she joined the back of the queue that she piped low.
No chill.
That's why I love living 'in abroad'
I really no get power for gragra
EDIT: the post was initially hidden by a mod for no reason at all. I had to post two queries asking why it was hidden. This post was then unhidden, whilst my queries were.. no explanation was given, no apology tendered.
Absolutely no chill at all. Very interesting indeed |

Come to Lagos how these people enjoy business, success and peace, but they're always hating the hosts and calling them names. Now go and form your kingdom and express all the innovations you've been talking about, you no gree. It doesn't start with a referendum, It starts with exodus, 70% of you can't be outside your region and you're saying you're serious, make the movement, some of us will even campaign for your referendum. Point of correction 70% of Igbos are not outside Igbo land.Besides other ethnic groups also migrate to other parts of the country en masse as well, that is why an average Nigerian city is cosmopolitan. So what are you saying? |

dewale1234: It beats me when we compare school based in ownership. As we have low quality private schools so we have low quality government schools Reason why private university students do well aren't far fetched 1. The environment : Check out the facilities in government schools like toilets, rooms, etc and you will know that it takes courage to do well in such environment and compare with what is obtainable in private schools
2. The lecturers: Most teachers in government schools have had one bad experience in the past ranging from poor welfare to maltreatment from their own lecturers too. So there is a tendency that they will do same their students
Have you observed that at the secondary school level that it's only private schools that top major academic competitions. Don't forget that this girl got an all Alpha in her IGCSE exams. I know a school in Ota that finishes WAEC syllabus as early as SS2 first term and IGCSE at SS3 first term. Then used the rest to prepare for JAMB. They had 5 students that got full scholarship into American universities. These students scored 800/800 in SAT mathematics and none of their graduating students in this last set is attending a public university. You think a parent who has paid so much to build a good foundation for their kids would mind sending them to quality private universities where their is no strike. Look at what is happening at LAUTECH.
Recently UI pharmacy faculty list its accreditation, of all schools in Nigeria and yet Babcock has accreditation for MBBS.
Lets drop this sentiment and celebrate those that are due for it Exactly |
