According to Chris Ngige we have more than enough doctors working, the rest should leave Nigeria if they want to, when in reality Nigeria doctors to patient ratio is 1 to 5000.

Nigeria has few hospitals, low annual budget your the health sector so doctors are not highly in demand.
it's a shame

Honestly this is sad, from all your write up, the problem started when you lost your job, meaning all was fine before then, meaning you enticed her with money when you both started dating, meaning there was never real love in the first place just love for material and financial gain, well, since she is still interested in the marriage, give her more time that she needs, do your part by calling and seeing her not just sending your mum to go there, make steps too towards getting her back cos it's obvious you both still want to be together, all the best.

P.S To all those guys that says "make money first then women will flow your way" this is the end result.
How are you sure he enticed her with money?

this sounds like blaming him for what happened

if a stupid woman does not know that in life, you go through up and downs, why is she married in thei first place?

Nice point bro . A 50/50 sharing of assets would still make most men bankrupt or depressed through out their life . The only way is to be secretive in your marriage & have offshore assets, accounts, real estate & investment. To be honest no couple can vouch that their marriage will last 5years, 10years or 20years; in order not to regret your actions it’s advisable to keep your assets out of the USA.
Sometimes , if your wife sense that you make enough money and it’s enough for both of you ; bro she’ll intentionally quit her job oooo that’s the honest truth .

Even if you are marrying a Nigerian woman
you are still at risk as long as you live abroad

I have been doing my own research on this divorce laws thing

And some revelations came to me...

To reduce the financial impact of divorce

1)marry someone within your own socio economic class
a state like California agrees to 50/50 of joint assets
so marrying someone far below your economic status na suicide for that state IF A divorce happens

2) Whatever you do, make sure she is NOT a house wife
House wives get sympathy in court and they get bigger settlements
especially if your marriage was Like 5 years above

it is the combination of the two points above that often ruin black athletes
not only do they marry bimbos far below them economically
those bimbos for whatever reason are at home squandering his money and not working

these two factors will finish a rich man in a divorce settlement

out of many points let me add the last one......
do not move out of the house
moving out of the house = abandonment and abandonment is not good dir a divorce case

I'm just saying sha

it's good to have full knowledge of the tax and divorce laws of wherever you livr.

besides
if you picked a good woman (not bimbo) and you are good to her, why fear a divorce?

Just saying too

Why would I continue paying my landlord's mortgage for him when I can pay almost the same amount and own the house after 25-30years? More so, like someone said, even if something happens and I love my job (assuming insurance doesn't even come into the picture), I can simply sell the house and recover all the money I would I have spent on rent cool

Those not in the western world cant really understand the concept of mortgage as their mentality is that credits are bad.
will you blame them for thinking credit is badhuh

Growing up and being shaped by a country like NiggerArea twists the mentality of many

CelebritiesRe: Comedian Aphrican Ace Buys A House In US (Photos) by Ugosample(m): 4:51pm On Jul 18, 2019
SixSigma1:
In that same example above, the person renting and paying $1500 monthly rent would also have paid $540,000 after 30 years and end up with nothing after 30 years. Even if the house market falls in 30 years (after the mortgage is fully paid), the person paying mortgage would still be able to sell the same house for something (never zero) no matter how small and get some of their investment (mortgage payment) back. While also, if they are lucky and the house market rises the person that was paying mortgage may be able to sell the house even more than $540,000 after 30 years (when mortgage is fully paid) and take away all of this money.

In my book, mortgage wins all the way (even when compared to outright cash purchase) as it allows you to free up capital for investment say in the stock market. Take note that the average annual return for the three key market indexes (DJIA, SP 500 and Nasdaq) for the last 30 years (July 1989 to July 2019) are roughly 8.3%, 7.8% and 11% respectively.

Rather than paying cash for a house I would rather invest my free up money in the stock market to get an average return of say 9% annually (over 30 years) while I am paying mortgage interest of an of average 5% annually (over 30 years). This leaves me with 4% annual return for 30 years.
you know the drill my man

Nigeria is not the poorest country on earth, or most useless society. An average Nigerian lives a better life than many countries around the world. Nigeria is safer than many countries in the world as well. I can mention many countries outside Africa that are not close to Nigeria. However, people in these countries are well respected worldwide than us. Nigerians are continuously destroying the image of the country especially the middle class.

We have lost our shame, integrity and dignity of being human. Some of us are gainfully employed, living well but would still say he's relocating to Canada, US etc without thinking that someone developed those countries. When you try to call their attention to this, they would be quick to tell you that everyone is courupt as if those people are not part their family. Corrupt lecturers, immigration officers at passport office, corrupt pastors and imam, corrupt company drivers that steal petrol, corrupt bankers, etc....are will not having them all in our families?

The truth is we might have the opportunity of relocating our families to the developed world without developing our own country, however, people like Trump wouldn't fail to remind you where you come from. A friend told me he relocated his family for his children's sake, I told him I don't feel at home here and I would still raise my own family back at home when the time comes because, some statements have hurt me deeply and beyond what I can call racism. Are these what my children would be facing all their lives?

In my opinion, it's better we do everything and develop our country if not for us but for our coming generations. Rwanda, Mauritius, Botswana and many African countries a currently on the right track. Can we imagine Trump telling someone born in the US just like himself to move back to her country. Unfortunately, several tens of thousand liked the post.

Read what I wrote over again.......every country around the world had their rough times; Japan, China, Germany, in fact UK was almost level at a time. Look at Rwanda today. We need to build our country and everyone is involved. A friend told me what he experienced when he went to collect his transcript in one of the Nig. univ., after making all necessary payments, the person in charge asked him for additional illegal 10k before she could do the right thing. People are not being punished for their wrong doing that's the biggest issue in Nigeria today. However, every citizen must be aware of their responsibilities for a responsible society that we want

Many of you guys actually think you are wise and understand basic things around you but it's the opposite.... there are wise guys working in Nigeria as at today that would eventually become billionaires in less than 10yrs esp in those guys in tech, agritect etc. These guys a closing big deals every day with foreign investors. In fact, a young Chinese who came with nothing would enter Nigerian bush and make big money that many of you guys complaining everyday might never get legally for life. These are Chinese guys that can't speak good English, in fact can't speak any local language...... Keep complaining, keep echoing the shit word your smallgod in America calls your nation. The wise among you would make money, and dominate you in the near future. The amount of time and money you are coming to apply to USA, is the same those guys are using in building their lives with a sure and bigger reward.....

Its been happening for a long time now and we never seem to care. Our parents were taught by excellent teachers, they studied under the best conditions. They enjoyed so many free amenities and life was not hard then but nowadays what do we get, student study under harsh conditions, strike today, cultism is not helping matters, lecturers threatening students with failure, living and study conditions is nothing to write home about. How many state universities have enough hostels within the campus? Lets also look at the background of some students, some parents cant afford good schools for their children so they send them to one public school close by where the teachers themselves are not paid well so whether the student knows what he/she is taught or not ain't their biz. So when the foundation is weak, it tends to affect the child and that's why we are having so many graduates who cant speak simple English. You go to some public primary schools during rainy season and you will be moved to tears to see the kinda classrooms the student use. No doors, no windows, roof is leaking and all, how do you expect such student to study well?
Lets also look at the social aspect of life, what kinda songs are our artists dishing out per week basis? Lets look at naira marley for example, dat guy is a total menace to the society. He said he saw so many tins while in police custody but he could not come out to create a positive awareness and possibly start a reasonable movement with his marlians bullshiit but rather he is singing about masturbation. Dat nigga shuld be shot at sight if it were left to me. Alot of so many artist lik dat, so so many. Listen to the music our parents were opportuned to listen to and compare it to what we have now, they go seperate ways. Let me just stop here abeg. Too many wrong conditions and all, on tuesday i went to unilag to process transcript and do verification for a client but i was told the non teaching staff of all federal universities are on a week warning strike, u can imagine. angry

Please do not be offended by what I said. I am only saying what I have witnessed. I have seen lawyers, nurses, doctors who did well in Nigeria but they do not have the intelligence for the American system. It does not mean they are dumb, but it means that they do not have the required mental abilities for a different system. What passes as proficient in Nigeria may not meet quality standards in another country like the US and Canada. You certainly can't buy your way into certain jobs here. Why do you think Buhari is in the UK receiving medical treatment? I believe there is honor in all jobs so I am not saying that there is anything wrong within what they're doing. My comment was about the op. He has very good hands on skills that he will be able to use. I think he will be okay if he relocates.

I have never been an advocate of relocating abroad without having something definite to go to. I have had several arguments with family members abroad on that issue, especially at the time when I had just finished my NYSC some 13 years ago.

However, having travelled to a few countries eventually I can say that the difference between those of us living here in Naija and those living abroad is simply about having a structured society. If making it in terms of being able to build a house in your village and own flashy cars is your goal, you've set of on the wrong foot. However, if what you want is a saner environment where basic things like electricity, transport system, educational system etc work to a very great extent, then you can consider relocating LEGALLY.

There are millions of Americans and Europeans who are not "rich" in the Nigerian sense. They don't own a car, live in a rented apartment and don't have much in savings. But they can catch a bus or train to work everyday, they come home at night and there is light. They can grab a cold beer from the fridge, sit and watch TV and then start the cycle all over again next day. They can save some small money for a holiday trip every now and then without worrying about visas. Their kids can go to mostly free public school and still get a decent education (even though they still complain about their own public schools), and they can struggle and save to pay for college later. There's law and order and a general sense of sanity, even though they also have some mad people. There is no being rich or "MAKING IT" involved. There's just a more general better standard of living, I guess. And if one is content with that, you're good to go.

The flip side is that here in Naija, you can make even more than those abroad, but you still have to contend with no light and noisy generators, bad roads that constantly damage your car, expensive private schools, unruly and indisciplined folk who don't even know what is right anymore and large scale corruption from top to bottom. But hey, as long as God continues to provide, we keep going on. It's just that sometimes, you wonder if this is living; especially when you've seen what it is like on the other side.

It's really about the kind of life you desire for yourself and your family eventually. What you probably need to define is what "making it" means to you.
you have spoken well
