pansophist: Giving nigeria visa free status will flood their country with millions of unproductive Nigerians. Nobody wants that. Anyone who deserves a Visa will most likely get it if he applied. After all, Nigeria didn't give SA free visa entry, so? as long as the thing is reciprocal I don t mind. But having visa free arrangements that is not reciprocated is a travesty |

oz4real83: As long as our leaders and their families have easy access to other countries either by virtue of dual citizenship or political power, they will never consider free-visa policies with other countries. They never want others to enjoy what they and their families enjoy. Funny enough, most Nigerians see it as normal. It is Never Normal. If they consider Nigeria good enough for business due to her population strength, then they should also consider her people good enough to have easy movement. thstd true sha the part about them not wanting others to enjoy like them. |

The statement above is false! Jonathan made it clear that secession was off the table!
Again, not implementing the recommendation of the conference was hypocrisy at its best! Why didn't Jonathan implement it the minute the white paper was released? He should never have waited to win the 2015 elections before implementing the recommendation. Nigeria lacks good leaders. No, Jonathan was never a good leader! which president will allow secession be discussed? That being off limit was a good thing |

This is what the thread will turn into. It is not about what your region have generated or received but the quality of life of people living there.
We should focus more on economic development rather than economic growth. Economic development is about human capacity development and standard of living why economic growth is about growth in numbers - GDP and so on. don't mind them |

Many of you are DISGUSTING in the way you misrepresent and exaggerate the situation in this country.
I recall when Shoprite was contemplating establishing malls in Nigeria a few years back. Majority of you assholes came online discouraging them, and saying that everyone was too poor, and that ''only the tiny few rich'' could afford to visit shopping malls.
Many said it was a terrible decision by Shoprite to come to Nigeria, one they would come to regret, since, according to them, ''99% of Nigerians live on less than a dollar a day''.
Guess what? Shoprite IGNORED these people. ESTABLISHED the malls, and is ESTABLISHING MORE AS WE SPEAK, due to MASSIVE DEMAND AND PATRONAGE from the same ''poor starving Nigerians'' living on ''less than a dollar a day''.
And you wonder why people say Nigerians are dumb and stupid. Keep running down your country before the world. Cursed people. if you are in denial about Nigeria being the capital of extreme poverty in Nigeria, then you're trippin.... it's what everyone knows have you been to zamfara or bauchi before? or even bayelsa? you think it's this facade in that slim called Lagos that is representative of NiggerArea? lmao |

GRACEGLORY: THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ETHNIC GROUP IN THE U.S. MAY SURPRISE YOU
Because you don’t know what it means to hustle … until you meet a Nigerian-American. By Molly Fosco THE DAILY DOSEJUN 07 2018
At an Onyejekwe family get-together, you can’t throw a stone without hitting someone with a master’s degree. Doctors, lawyers, engineers, professors — every family member is highly educated and professionally successful, and many have a lucrative side gig to boot. Parents and grandparents share stories of whose kid just won an academic honor, achieved an athletic title or performed in the school play. Aunts, uncles and cousins celebrate one another’s job promotions or the new nonprofit one of them just started. To the Ohio-based Onyejekwes, this level of achievement is normal. They’re Nigerian-American — it’s just what they do.
Today, 29 percent of Nigerian-Americans over the age of 25 hold a graduate degree, compared to 11 percent of the overall U.S. population, according to the Migrations Policy Institute. Among Nigerian-American professionals, 45 percent work in education services, the 2016 American Community Survey found, and many are professors at top universities. Nigerians are entering the medical field in the U.S. at an increased rate, leaving their home country to work in American hospitals, where they can earn more and work in better facilities. A growing number of Nigerian-Americans are becoming entrepreneurs and CEOs, building tech companies in the U.S. to help people back home.
It hasn’t been easy — the racist stereotypes are far from gone. Last year, President Donald Trump reportedly said in an Oval Office discussion that Nigerians would never go back to “their huts” once they saw America. But overt racism hasn’t stopped Nigerian-Americans from creating jobs, treating patients, teaching students and contributing to local communities in their new home, all while confidently emerging as one of the country’s most succesful immigrant communities, with a median household income of $62,351, compared to $57,617 nationally, as of 2015.

Stay here and be forming HYPOCRITE! if trump inherited a battered economy like Obama did You really think he would have done better the truth is that on the economic front, he made a good situation better Obama pulled a dying economy out of the ground.... Business › Re: Amazon Beats Apple And Google To Become The World’s Most Valuable Brand by Ugosample(m): 5:47pm On Jul 09, 2019 |
Freehuman: Majority of the public really think the worth of these companies as put forward by media houses like Forbes and Brandt are the amount they have in the bank, if they had such money in the bank The USA would borrow from them instead of China.
The worth of these companies are a culmination of their assets, profit from sales, investments and most importantly stock. Aliexpress may make more sales than Amazon and have more money in their account than Amazon but Amazon definitely owns the stock market than them.
American companies have always topped those lists because of their capitalist nature and most importantly because of the ordinary citizens familiarity with words like New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street.
Zuckerberg for instance was reported to have lost 30 Billion dollars last year by Forbes. Was money in his account stolen? Obviously No. His worth is his shares or stocks and how much they are selling at that time. For instance if Apple has 100 million units of ordinary shares selling at 1000 dollars each, Apple will therefore be estimated to be at worth at least 1 trillion dollars, if the price of those shares fall to 10 dollars per unit their worth drastically reduces to 1 billion dollars. This way Apple Can be worth 1 trillion dollars this week and drop to 100 Billion dollars by next week and therefore lose 900 billion dollars at the stock market.
Americans have an enlightened population of those who invest in the stock market. Facebook's only source of income is advertising which means media houses like CNN and Sky Sports would worth same as facebook or more if their value was reliant on profit from sales. However, the American Stock exchange market favours American companies. In the US, charity organisations and Schools purchase shares of companies ,even companies purchase shares from other companies. This knowledge of stock market investment is what Africa and Asia lacks, and Europeans are not really interested in.
If we had a good stock market in Nigeria, Nairaland would definitely be a billion dollar company. Easiest way to make money even without a single sale is the stock market that's why MTN created awareness when they wanted to make their brand valuable after their judicial loss. Twitter is a fortune 500 company and sold their first adverts space only 3 years ago. Prior to that, they relied solely on investments and the stock Market which would mean the likes of Dangote group and even Nairaland would beat them by far. interesting analysis |

NotComplaining: Rape is part of our global society and will always be. But our aim is to reduce it and not allow our families become victim of it through a moral dress code and enforced rules on interaction between the sexes.
Rape even occurs in Saudi, but its on a minutr negligible scale that it is hard to say our Islamic preventative measures are not working.
So where would you rather your vulnerable sisters be, in a society with little, or one with a rampant culture or rape? Rape is rife in Saudi But the women cannot speak up because of that twisted environment they find themselves The reign of tight fistedness will end soon in Saudi... just a few more decades Then you will hear the full gist of the atrocities going on there |
