I have always imagined how mark zuckeberg of facebook, Jack dorsey of twitter, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of google would have struggled had it being they are born in Nigeria or lived in Nigeria right from their childhood. Perhaps they won’t their won’t be facebook, twitter, google, Perhaps their won’t even be anything like blogging.
After I finished from school on lastyear, I thought of resuming fully to my blog, but it has rather being hard than I prepared for, and the power supply has being one of my major problem. Apart from the power supply from generator. I only enjoy electricity for an average period of 3hours in every 24hours. There are even times that it will be off for almost 2weeks, and the scarcity of fuel with the rising and falling of it’s price is not helping in anyway to use my small generator. I believe some bloggers situation are a lot more worse than this.

2. High Data Price
I do not mean data for records, but what you use in accessing the internet. A situation where you have one of the network provider advertising 2015mb data for N2015 and in their mind, they are trying to beat off competitions by giving their users data at cheaper price, you can imagine how hard it will be for a blogger who’s not earning a penny from his blog yet.
Yes, you can still squeeze some amount to get a domain (it’s renewal is just once in a year), you can still squeeze out some amount to get the device you need, but how do you expect an average income blogger to be squeezing out large amount of money every month to get data so as to maintain the blog he’s not yet earning from, there will a time that there will be nothing else to squeeze. Little wonder why some people looks for tricks to help them surf the net for a little or no amount in Nigeria. So don’t quickly condemn any blogger looking for quick success in the blogging world if you don’t know the conditions they are.

DO YOU KNOW?
A. That this points in one way or the other affects the quality of posts from a blogger, due to the fact that some cannot do deep research on the content they post because they only have little resources (electricity, data etc.) to get it done. Perhaps many bloggers in Nigeria would have gotten an adsense approval by now.
B. That drastic improvement on this points could help tackle unemployment. Just imagine hundreds of thousands of successful bloggers in Nigeria. I read an article about some bloggers that resigned from their former place of work just to face blogging squarely, how many of that happens in this part of the world. I hope to see more of lindaikeji and Jide ogunsanya of ogbonge blog in this country.

Its just annoying and sad, I did a reportage on Obalende Police Barracks and decided to share it here, you won't believe it that a guy (Naija on point) turn it to his. I remember the trouble I went through when taking these pictures, going to police barrack to snap pictures is like signing your death warrant, and someone will sit comfortably in his home and dubbed everything with giving refrences to credits is very annoying. I am a new blogger and my website is still under review for adsense so, I didn't make money through my blogs, all what I am doing is just for the love of the blogging. My appeal once again is please, if you have to copy, copy with sense and have the fear of God, don't reap what you don't sow as it may backfire. I saw one of my picture too on Linda Ikeji's too and she didn't give source, I am sure, she took it here.

I tried as much as possible in all my posts to give credits and due reference. Giving a source to your copied write up does not mean that you are weak or stuppid, it just mean you had human feeling. To write another topic now fears me, so that they won;t dub it and make it their own.

Please say no plagiarism, lets encourage creativity, and if you must copy, add source... Don't lets get to a point where we have to report your blog to google, and you know what that means.

Another thing is that some people don't confirm things before posting it. Eg I saw some one post something here "Korede Bello buys new car" and I clicked only to see a photo of the dude sitting on a blue Bentley with plate number "Mavin" (only that plate number will tell you that its donjazzy's) so I decided to search google with that title because I no that some people might carry it, lo and behold I found like five sites with exactly that content.

It's possible, but you are still a rookie, every student should have extracurricular activity, blogging was mine when I was in school, but you have to watch the time you give to it.

Back then, my blog was about the school, the school website was polyunwana.net, mine was polyunwana.org, since the school website didn't had enough information to guide students on what's happening in the school, I dimmed it wise to create an information website to update freshers, aspirants, students and staff of the school.

It' ticked, my blog was getting more traffic and popularity than the school website, calls where coming in every now and then, comments were waiting for answers, people needed updates, I was popular, BUT it was eating into my academic period.

It reflected in my GP, I had to take caution, allocated time for it, 1 hour in the morning, for posting and updating and 1 hour in the night, for reading and replying feedback.

My advice to you:

1. Why do you want to blog:

I think it's obvious, it's for money, there are many ways to make money from blogging, except your answer is yes to the question below, avoid adsense. You don't have enough time to compete with full time bloggers for organic traffic, and trying to garner traffic by social media will eat so much into your time that it may reflect in your GP.
You can package information product and sell through your website
You can write reviews, or guest post on your blog for clients from fiverr

2. Are you passionate about the niche you are going into?
If you are not passionate about the niche you choose, chances are your blog will become a burden instead of a hobby, you may definitely drop it to salvage your academic pursuit.

3. Have you done your keyword research and it's a profitable niche?
If you want to earn via adsense or advertising and you haven't done your due diligence on this subject. You are headed towards a disaster except the 2. above applies.

4. Who is your mentor?
A good mentor can save your a year wasted in groping in the dark. Get a good mentor, he will tell you what to do, when to do it and why

hello am also in school, i wanted to create mathematic tutorial blog. Is it a good niche to choose?

I have not seen anyone venture into such niche.... But I think its going to be a great idea and also considering the fact that its mathematics so its not going to be a steady thing so you can just schedule out time to blog and time to study.
