the fact is both governors have done very well BUT in this SS region, akpabio will always be second to amaechi. maybe we can compare akpabio to oshio-baba but not amaechi. truly! what amaechi has done in health, education and human development ALONE IS CRAZY I TELL YA.
my very good friends youngerr sister has just graduated from a university in canada. she was sponsored by RSG. infact i personally 3 families whose kids were sent out by amaechi.
i can bet you many people who live in PH personally know at least 1 person the state is sponsoring.

if thats not governance, please redefine it for me.

poor rivers children can now go to school FREE. just show interest and youll be admitted. for the first time in rivers state, public scvhool children are writing entrance exams with kids from montessori, the grove, hilltop, norweghian international school, yitzak rhabin etc.
rivers public schools are3 competing coutesy amaechi

health centers are EVERYWHERE. tell me where you live and ill point out the nearest health center to you. for the first time in my life,i saw the ozuoba health center pulling the kind of crowd i can only see at BMH or UPTH.
my cousin immunized her three kids at elekahia health center close to her house. wetin she dey come find for UPTH.
BMH is becoming a center for specialist training for doctors. departments are getting accreditation one by one.

i am sure any wedding in UYO will have either grand malt or grand lager beer on the tables. those are products of pabos breweries amaechi revitalised
You are not from rivers state, and hence do not know what is happening there, you scurry to threads about amaechi hecause he joined APC yesterday. You have abosolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Rivers state is the third most important city in Nigeria After Abuja and Lagos. These are places that the FG has invested heavily since the early 1900's to make them economically viable, these has nothing to do with the impacts of their present leaders, Amaechi inherited the oil capital of west Africa and in 8yrs has ran it aground with abandoned projects everywhere, schools, PHC, Karby white hospital, clinotech hospital, monorail, all incomplete and blaming the FG for lack of funds while the Federal allocation + IGR makes rivers state the second richest state in the country after Lagos.

In 8yrs Akpabio has taken Akwa Ibom a former LGA and village in the scheme of things in the then Nigeria into a place of reckon in Nigeria. the fact that we are even making comparism is a testimony to the ability in the charismatic leadership of Akpabio.
Overseas scholarship, while it may be Novel in rivers state is nothing novel in Akwa Ibom of today, Akwa ibom Has been doing overseas scholarship for eons, mentioning that in AKS will not buy you any political capital for since the days of Attah the state has been sending batches of hundreds every year for training a trend that has been sustained by akpabio, the Akwa Ibom State university trained 90% of its present staff strenght in UK US and canada majority who have choosen not to come back, there is hadly any major family in AKS today that does not have at least one person or known one person who has been a beneficiary.
you mention pabod breweries in rivers state, you probably never heard of champion breweries in Uyo a subsidiary of Heineken one of the largest brewers in the world.

Rivers state can be better and am praying for it to get better a strong rivers state is good for Akwa Ibom , the south South and Nigeria in General. Amaechi had an oppurtunity to work with the president a portharcout boy himself married to a rivers woman, but insted of him to cooperate with the president and help build and enviable SS he decided to let his ego have the best of him. can you imaging what the SS region would have been with Amaechi, oshimole, uduaghan, imoke, dickson, and akpabio allworking together with the president to make the region and the country better, instead he choose to fight the presidency. History will not forget the saboters and thank God that Jonathan has another 4 years, hopefull SS will elect leaders in tha mold of Akpabio who know how to hold a united front with their brother president.

i posted those pictures for people asking for pictures. the fact you posted them on skyscrapercity is inconsequential in this discourse. amaechi built a stadium that is not comparable quality wise to akpabios.fact!
but the fact that it is on only this stadium and a few roads that we are comparing both governors, should tell you something??

where is akpabio on
educationhuh?
healthhuh? apart from the 20th anniversary hospital
security
agriculture
IGR
job creation and human development
okay lets talk roads and flyovers, since thats what you guys hammer on.
mention one road and ill give you two for each you mention.
What has Amaechi done on all that regards beside build a few model schools on the main roads of rivers state for publicity? How many of the planned model schools/healthcare centres that amaechi started has been completed? I commend him for the quality of the schools and PHC centres he completed while a PDP governor, But since joining APC he has been infected with the pull me down syndrome that permeates that party that it has beclouded his sense of project delivery and accountability to the people of rivers state. Being an opposition government dose not mean he should stop delivering on projects. blaming the president for everything will not cut it.

old pictures...this is actually a sports complex for other sports apart fromm soccer....its not just a stadium. but when you compare amaechis stadiumn to akwaiboms, akpabios stadium is of far better quality. not debatable BUT MY ISSUE IS THIS,apart from the stadium, tropicana and a few roads, what else has he done to better the lives of akwaibomites??
nonsense those are pictures i personally posted in skyscrapercity about that stadium because of my vested interest in the project, i thought you had images of any new development of the disgrace that amaechi built and called it a stadium in this 21st century. the design of this stadium main bowl belongs to the 18th century. I hope that Rivers people will vote into power a new governor that will salvage that edifice and turn it into something respectable.
Amaechi should know that you do not award mega projects to political contractors and expect good result. If he was not busy fighting his brother who is more successful than he is or will ever be in life, maybe he would have focused on getting things right.

Whats your point ??? huh huh huh huh huh huh
My point is the state of california has better sports venues and infrastructures and better economy than the whole of South Africa, Does that fact mean that South Africans should not celebrate the venues they used for their world cup?
you are just a mad little boy running around with inferiority complex, which is not surprising for someone who suffered from the trauma of apartheid. the psychosis that comes from playing second fiddle to a white man in your country and being told and shown that you are not good enough will take a long time to heal.

have you ever wondered what it is about Nigerians that they are very successful where ever they are? We don't grow up with complexes, we believe in ourselves and that the power to change our destinies is in our hands, not that of govt, white man or any other person.
We are not afraid of any competition, we are always eager to throw in our hats into the pool and compete despite the odds, a characteristic that stands us out amongst other African brothers. the proof is in this thread though a Nigeria Thread we allow troll like you and fellow Ghanaian trolls unfettered access to our social media without any jot of censorship. SA and Ghanaian Social media would have shut this thread down if the roles were reversed, But Nigerian's are liberal and we know we have nothing to fear from troll and we respect your right to express yourself no matter how skewed your vitriol. Enjoy your unfettered access and welcome to Nigeria.

APC propaganda mill,I am really happy about the kind of Attention that Akwa Ibom Stadium is getting from trolls from APC and hate filled Nigerians. In this parts of Nigeria where we are blessed with the sweetest species of mango fruits in the world, we believe that the mango tree that bears the sweetest fruits gets the highest number of stones and shaking from the people.
Akwa ibom is onto something here kudos to my amiable governor for this wonderful vision.
APC keep hating Akpabio for thats what haters do. But i can assure you that in no distant future all of you will be boasting about this uyo stadium and most of the other infrastructure that Akpabio is building, Mark my words.

Am watching this thread for pictures of Amaechi Stadium stadium, because unlike most of you guys am rooting for rivers state to succeed (despite their current crybaby governor who is a disgrace to the Niger delta people because he is a saboteur whose ambition for VP is driving him insane) cos they are our neighbours we can look from our backyards and see rivers state, if rivers succeed I am all happy for it because i can participate in their success and share it with them, There is more that binds us to the people of rivers state then divide us despite the seeming animosity between the two governors, Govs comes and goes but the people will remain.

Fool, do u want me to bring out the current status as regards the monorail. I showed it to u on another thread and yet u fools simply won't learn.
Wow Amaechi has really done great, can we see completed images of this his stadium complex? or is it another unfinished business like the monorail the schools and health centres which only the ones by the roads are complete and the ones in the villages away from the main road are abandoned.Stop hyping incompetence and show us pictures.

All the giant did was rub his eyes without sitting up from his bed and gbam his economic size became the biggest in Africa, begin to imagine what will happen when he sits up on the bed, or when he starts to walk I can understand why some countries/ people are afraid and threatened.[/size]

PoliticsRe: Fashola And Akpabio.. Who Is A Better Governor??? by ujoinme:
Akpabio wins hands down, Fashola is all Hype but the best when compared to his thieving compatriots from APC.
interesting fact, All those in support of the winning choice Gov. Akpabio are ordinary Nigerians, and those in support of Fashola are his paid internet staff aressa AKA ekoile, Agbaworo, obiageli, Phantom etc all known APC internet trolls.

I want to guess that in South Africa where they have Soccer City, Peter Mokohba, Moses Mabida stadia and a host of other stadia, everyone has a job, all the roads are tarred and good, everyone has running water etc. I also want to guess that in Brazil where 12 stadia were built for the WC and which is going to host the Olympic games in 2016 everything is available eh?

The construction of that edifice in Uyo put food and will be putting food on the tables of thousands of Nigerians. Julius Berger isn't going to import people from Mars to maintain the stadia, it's Nigerians that will be used to do that and they will get paid. Isn't good that we have such an edifice which even foreigners are applauding? Malik Jabir the Coach of Ghana said he wished they have such in Ghana. What else do you want?

Appreciate good thing for once.
Dont mind them they are all hating because they are jealous.
SportsRe: Akwa Ibom State Intl Stadium Opening – PROGRAMME OF EVENT by ujoinme:
ROSSIKE:
It's a nice stadium, but I think we're making a bit too much of it. It is afterall just a 30,000 capacity stadium. If it was say 50 or 60,000, THEN we could rate it as the best around these parts. It's lookalike, Soccercity Stadium in SA has a capacity of 84,000. THAT'S what we mean by a proper world class stadium. This Akwa Ibom stadium feels uncomfortably like they tried to build 'world class' on the cheap.
I think you are making too much about the size thing, being a world class arena is not so much about size but the quality of the infrastructure. can you point to any stadium in West Africa that has the kind of facility in the Akwa Ibom Stadium? this is an architectural masterpeice that can be celebrated anywhere in the world. How many stadiums in Africa besides South Africa Has the kind of Facade that this stadium has?
The size is not the main or only criteria when you are rating a stadium, A stadium can be big and totally useless.

I bet you have not been inside this stadium, and I dont think your opinion superceeds that of guys who know more about stadiums and sports like charles anazodo, segun,Peter rufai,Stephen keshi Taribo west, Paul bassey, etim Esin etc whose proffession is sports and they have been in most of the big time stadiums across the world. After visiting these stadium, they all conclude this is a world class facility. I will take the words of this professionals anyday, because they know what they are talking about.
