President Donald Trump is refusing to publicly commit to accepting the results of the upcoming White House election, recalling a similar threat he made weeks before the 2016 vote, as he scoffs at polls showing him lagging behind Democrat Joe Biden. Trump says it’s too early to make such an ironclad guarantee.

“I have to see. Look … I have to see,” Trump told moderator Chris Wallace during a wide-ranging interview on ”Fox News Sunday.” “No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.” The Biden campaign responded: “The American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”

Trump also hammered the Pentagon brass for favoring renaming bases that honor Confederate military leaders — a drive for change spurred by the national debate about race after George Floyd’s death. “I don’t care what the military says,” the commander in chief said.

The president described the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, as a “a little bit of an alarmist” about the coronavirus pandemic, and Trump stuck to what he had said back in February — that the virus is “going to disappear.” On Fox, he said, “I’ll be right eventually.” The United States tops the global death toll list with over 140,000 and confirmed infections, with 3.7 million.

Since zoning of political offices has become the order of the day in Nigeria, an equitable consensus would follow that Southern Nigeria—the Igbo in particular—will produce the next president of the country, come 2023. But such zoning convention has begun to beg the question: Would the candidacy be open to the entire Igbo nation or would such opportunity be limited to the South-East zone of Nigeria?

The answer is a no brainer: The ticket ought to be open to the entire Igbo nation of the Southern extraction. Here is why.

The proponents of rotational presidency argue that the concept would ensure a sense of belonging among Nigeria’s disparate ethnic groups. Of the three Nigerian major tribes, namely, the Igbo, Hausa-Fulani, and the Yoruba; only the Igbo are yet to lead the country under a democratic setting.

It is recalled the APC lawmakers had gathered at the resident of the deputy speaker to air their views and grievances over the manner the Governor had promised and failed. During the meeting, Honorable Ngozi Obiefuna representing Isu constituency shared her displeasure with the manner the Speaker of the State Assembly had not impressed on the Governor over the situation of the lawmakers. While she was speaking, young lawmaker by the name Samuel Otibe representing Ahiazu Mbaise constituency – who was the personal driver to the former Commissioner of Education in Imo State – Onwumere. In a thuggish manner, Hon. Otibe rebuked Hon. Obiefuna for delegating blame to the Speaker. When another female lawmaker by name Hon. Uju Onwudiwe representing Njaba constituency intervened. Hon Otibe went straight for the wine bottle – and threw it at the direction of Hon. Onwudiwe. She dodged it – and the wine bottle smashed into pieces on the wall. Not satisfied, Hon. Otibe grabbed the wine glass on the table and aimed it at Hon. Onwudiwe. She ducked again and the wine glass smashed on the wall. This time, the flying pieces hit another lawmaker – Hon. Herculus Okolo representing Ohaji/Egbema constituency. He was hit on the wrist – and he bleed. The meeting ended abruptly.

With pensioners uncertain of their pensions, the civil servant uncertain of their salaries, the lawmakers at daggers drawn money, and with no infrastructural expenditure on going in Imo State, it begs the obvious question as to why the finances of the State has gone. “Is there a black hole eating up the money”.

Then, the revolution torched off an armada of road construction, covering over one hundred and five roads built by reputable first class contractors led by RCC Nig. Ltd, Setraco Nig. Ltd, Nigercat Nig. Ltd among others. In nearly thirty-four months as Governor, over 500km of roads, spanning all the senatorial zones of the state and still standing close to two decades, were done. Some of these roads deserve mention.

Similarly, education, the pride of the State as the Light of the Nation was not left out as you initiated a Memorandum of Agreement with Church Leaders for the return of schools to the mission. While Archbishops Obiefuna and Valerian Okeke, Bishop Hilary Odili Okeke and Bishop Simon Okafor led the Catholic Church team; Bishops Maxwell Anikwenwa, Ken Sandy Okeke, Efobi and Okpala led the Anglican team. Effectively therefore, schools were handed over to the Missions on 15th September 2005. Today Anambra is better for it.

Ize Iyamu running mate, Mallam Gani Audu under fire after being spotted guzzling Alcohol as against the sacred doctrines of the Islamic religion, which he is a teacher of.

Mallams are teachers of the Koran in mosques, so they are expected to practice what they preach. They are expected to be of good behavior and maintain good conducts in line with Islamic provisions. But surprisingly, Mallam Gani Audu was spotted gulping chilled bottle beer.

The same Gani will be in the mosque tomorrow and be reciting Koran verses where taking alcohol is clearly considered sinful. He would say to his congregation “do not drink alcohol”, and just after the closure of the service he rushes to nearby beer parlor.

Work through Police cronies in EFCC

“I do not understand what the report meant by working with cronies. If what was implied is that I have preferred officers that I work with and who go about their work in unethical manner, my response is that nothing of such exists in the EFCC.

“Officers who work with me know that the easiest way to lose your job is to be found to be involved in unethical or corrupt activities. Indeed, when I assumed office as acting chairman, my first action was to return police officers with integrity issues back to the Nigeria Police Force.

“If the DSS finds that there are police officers in the EFCC who are working closely with me and have properties that their incomes cannot support, the Service is at liberty to expose them.

The spat of corruption related activities in Nigeria have recently begun to make national headlines in a manner that has gripped the nation like never before. Meanwhile a peace building committee on Kajuru led by Hon. Yakubu Barde, a member of the National Assembly Representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency submitted it’s report to the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Elrufai in mid-June, 2020. On 30th June, 2020, those who were in attendance briefed other Adara elders about the measures the Governor said he intends to take on the crisis. The Adara Development Association has now realized that in reality, some of the measures amount to punitive actions against Adara nation. One of them is the withdrawal of all security agents in Kajuru LGA if there is no peace with Fulani herdsmen.

This seems like another open invitation to the well armed Fulani militia to overrun and take over the already decimated Adara nation. Another decision of the Governor is to go ahead and implement the unjust gazette scrapping Adara Chiefdom which is being challenged in court by Adara community. We are also shocked to hear that in spite of all the atrocities, horrors and agonies that our community has been going through, the Governor is still accusing Adara people of hostility towards Hausa/Fulani residents in Adara land. But most startling of all is the Governor’s assertion that the Hausa/Fulani settlement of Kajuru is older than Adara community thereby aluding that they have more rights over the land than Adara nation.

The Minister said more so when the said subsidy was benefiting in large part the rich rather than the poor and ordinary Nigerians.

They are maggots and parasites at best, feeding off the isolation of addiction and broken families, and offering to replace any current frustration and anxiety with more misery and greater resentment.”

It is simply heartless and insensitive for a news medium in the cadre of Sahara reporters to make a callous mistake in a manner it misrepresented a clean hearted and grass rooted gesture to the rural community women in Bauchi State. It is almost juvenile for the news medium to descent to such low without cursory checks to ameliorate rudimentary mistakes.

The publishers of sahara reporters published that the 1st lady of Bauchi State distributed pure water sachets as relief materials to rural women in Bauchi State.

A contemptuous lie.
