You cannot start a passport renewal process until six months to expiration.

You can travel to the US with your passport as it stands. No one will stop you at POE.

However, make sure you have your NIN handy for renewal in the US. You would need to start the renewal process in September.

It depends. Can be 48hrs or more, 24hrs or less. The link to apply is through your visa application page. There's "Emergency Appointment" tab there. Just click on it.

I got denied visa in April in Abuja

I applied again immediately for Lagos. Today was my interview date. But I got sent back and wasn’t interviewed.

They said I ticked regular to manipulate the systems and get an earlier date instead of ticking previously denied in the last 6 months

All my efforts wasted

Well sorry about the wasted effort but you actually override the system. Nevertheless, you don't have to give up on your dreams. Get back on your feet, gather your emotions and applications together and apply choosing the right option. No one said this journey is an easy one anyways so gather yourself together. Maryland is quite pricey but you have options like Ann arundel, university of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, Medstar Franklin center, Mercy medical etc depending on your budget. I’d say if you have an option choose Houston , it’s quite affordable and a lot of people on here have used Houston … so finding a hospital and doctor in Houston willing to accept you ,may be much faster.

If you're avoiding GRE then you will have to do extra. You can check your department of each schools to see if it's compulsory

Lol There's no time oo. I've always wanted to say something about this date. Someone was about to pay for date yesterday and in the next hr, there was date and she was able to pick a July date.

The embassy can reschedule as much as they feel they are ready to interview. So I'd advise you keep checking for changes.

Going by the current situation of dates, I'd suggest you don't. The earliest date is not 2024

What does it mean when a school request a financial guarantee? Is it bank statements or affidavits?

It's like an affidavit of support or sponsorship letter. Ask if they have any particular format or sample. Ask if they mean a Statement of Account too for clarification

What you want to look at is Transfer admission. You may have to do a course by course evaluation to be sure you completed all the freshman courses but talk to the schools admission office first and forward your transcript to them. The unofficial one. Some schools do offer to evaluate students results if they can. To cut long story short, yes you can start from Sophomore year (200l) provided you have all compulsory prerequisites.

When you search for schools and you have a list of schools you want to apply to, check through their financial aid page and look for any information on funding. You will have to check every details on that and be sure they offer assistantship. So schools will have you submit separate application for that while some will tell you it's not needed. If you don't see any information concerning graduate funding, there's always a contact information of the program coordinator on the site. You will copy that and email the person asking about funding and any other questions you may have concerning your admission to the school plus funding.

PS: Be explicit in your words and don't assume he/she knows what you are saying especially concerning that particular funding you want to know about.

You should request for permission from your school to resume the following week. If by chance the VO ask why you are resuming late, state the reason as regards change in interview date. Also keep the letter for POE just in case

If it's more than 6months, you can choose regular. About the other opinion, well some people were sent back last week for not answering that question correctly. I can't say you should choose regular and I can't say if you shouldn't.

Hmmm it's like "why approve EA just to release later dates". You have to keep checking for earlier dates.

If COA is $59k then it's a huge money.
To cut long story short because this is not the Students thread, try apply for funding before going back to the embassy. It will make it more easier.

1. Staying with your husband for five years, no, that's a mistake.
2. Leaving your job for five years, not that you're going for studies. That's a red flag.
3. You didn't move with him while he was going.
4. GTA is just for your husband's upkeep. Saying you using that too for yours is some kind of confusing.

I will advise you follow the advice above, if actually it was you that was quoted.

Reason why I'll always suggest any funded F1 student with f2 should apply together.

thank you for responding, the document is i-20 , i called the school today and they said e-copy is enough to present at the embassy that i dont necessarily need to wait for the hard copy to get to me, that is more relieving, so i will just print out the digital copy from my mail, sign it and go along with it. I am coming back to this thread to share testimony about how easy my interview will go and also got approved.

Hello guys, my USA interview is in few days time and I'm still waiting for one of my documents to be ready, does anyone know if there is a way to reschedule this appointment to nearby date, maybe few weeks or one or two months ahead?
i tried rescheduling on their website and the available date I can see is another 12 months from now but my school resumes after September this year. I don't want to miss this interview opportunity.

If you have not used your EA request, you can reschedule to any later date and whenever you receive your documents and ready to apply, you can use the EA.
