Hello everyone,
Can someone point me to where to start reading from if I want to start an application. I checked page 1 but it's dated back to 2015 and I know a lot would have changed.
Thank you so much. |

MsAnonymous: Hello mamas
Pls is it advisable to buy baby things from Nigeria and take to US . Things baby and I will need for about a month before coming back home. Or do I buy them in USA. Which is cheaper pls One thing is sure, the hospital will give you some diapers and few clothes. Since you're not planning to stay forever, just travel light. |

What do I do now ? Any suggestions for Pennyslyvia? Check for hospitals around your family in both States and compare with your budget. You can get an estimate from the hospital website |

NotsonewMary: Thanks, I wish myself good luck and God’s favor with my application as well. I’ll try to share my timeline and other information that might be useful to others once I receive an update from USCIS.
Lol, Indians and Chinese people ehn! Those guys are something else haha. They’ve saturated the EB2NIW field for the longest time, explains why their priority date for I-485 is not current. I admire how they share useful information among one another and keep their professional community in the US thriving.
Also, I know many Nigerians that have successfully petitioned for EB1 and EB2 categories of the NIW without employing the services of a lawyer. Many are now greencard holders and some others now US citizens.
As always, the right information is VERY key!, especially in America. "The right information ni ooo" not just any information. Nice!! |

Cos even if you have a little savings from Nigeria, you would probably need to still work when you get there, I believe. Fully funded with stipend + if you have time, you apply for different scholarships. Internships too dey. Na how some of us dey survive be that |

Kayeo: Nawa for you oh! Be cammingdan abeg! Those kids are citizens and have a right to tax refunds filed by a tax payer. The tax payer also benefits from this refunds. Apart from that in 2020 and 2021 Biden handed out stimulus checks to all American citizens. $1,200 for adults and $500 for children. If her kids were a tax payers dependents they would've gotten that money which again the tax payer would've also benefited. So keep kwayet about all that yeye talk of contribution to USA and robbing citizens! People like you are the real problem! Enemies of progress! Other people's joy dey pepper you! Lawyer you sef hear yourself talk "tax refund filed by a Tax payer" did the person paid tax to collect tax payment in the first place?? If everyone that gave birth in the US was to go with this your thinking, do you know how many Nigerians alone would have travelled back just to collect that $1200?? And again "How exactly has the person contributed to the US economy so as to get the benefits?" Una go just sit somewhere dey feel nonsense entitlement. |

So I don’t know what to do Someone in the US will have to make the payment for you using their bank card. |

Imagin an agent telling someone with 3.40/5 CGPA that they can not get admitted to a school USA except via pathway.
Anyway ntoor for them since they can not sitdown and read meanwhile they have IPhone, Ipad, Macair pro, Samsung galaxy series, hp laptop name it. |

Nozino: Hello sir, I would advice you to get into the US for a PhD. Most PhD in your field are fully funded. This removes the financial stress from you and makes your visa application easier. While in the US, you can start the ABSN program online or on campus. I personally think a degree in Biochemistry will cover all prerequisites, most nursing schools would want you to evaluate your result with Wes to see if they are equivalent with their own classes. Not all. Biochem students in Nigeria do not take Anatomy and Physiology and that's a prerequisite for BSN in the US. Sociology, developmental psychology as well are part of prerequisites |

Hisexcellency20: Hello everyone,
Please, I need your insight/advice on this situation.
Last yèar, during my F1 visa interview, the VO asked me if I will be going with my wife, I told him NO, as my wife was schooling and doing her business. Hence, çannot abandon her sch to join me. Now, she is almost rounding up.
She went for her F2 visa few days ago, and was told that her husband said, she won't be joining him, what has changed? And she gave an entirely off point answer, as she did not anticipate the question and I mistakenly did not prep her to that point. She was telling the VO that her husband cannot visit at this time, cos of his demanding research work bla bla bla
Now, we are about to reapply. Will stating that she has completed her program be appealing to them? Since, had already given an out of point answer initially.
Please, what do you think is the best way to go about this? Cos, I know that, that same question will arise again.
Thank you very much. And there goes another reason not to use your family that will later join you as collateral during your interview (some will coman tell me it's serves as home ties, home ties isonu). She can apply again and prepare response for that question |

IkhideDora: Hi, My cousin was in 3rd year at a federal University. due to strike, I advised him to apply for an UG programme. He sat for a fresh waec exam and used it for an undergraduate visa application.
Unfortunately, his application was declined. He is considering his options as he will be graduating this year,( if the strike is called off) and apply again.
This time, he wants to apply for a graduate program. I want to know if this would be a problem, having entered in his Ds-160 that he graduated High-school last year.
I feel bad because I talked him into doing this and even filled his Ds-160.
Will this be a problem at all? Wahala o wa Po ju bayii well he should finish his MSc and use the wait time to do his Masters in Nigeria before applying again. All the best |

Confide22: Good morning people.
Please my enquiry is on F1 visas. I've tried to go through the thread and I'm somehow stumbling on only B1 visas an the likes.
I got my i-20 from my school last week. What's the next step please.? Also saw something about the SEVIS fee or so. Please I'd appreciate a detailed guidance, preferably from someone who recently traveled for studies.
My admission came with an 80% funding scholarship. I also have a cousin (a priest), who lives 7mins away from the school, and who's going to be my sponsor on living expenses and the other 20% tuition. I'd be staying with him, and he has already identified with the school. I have a great paying job and an investment as well. Though I have never traveled before. What are my chances of getting the visa as quickly as possible please?
NB: My program starts on September 6th 2022. The page you are looking for is General US Student Visa enquires part 17 but in case you don't find the thread, visit the US visa website and check students-Exchange F1 visa. Likewise, on the page for International student on your school's website, there are directions on "what next "after admission. So you can check next step on your school international students tab Best of luck |

degxyflexy: Thanks for the update, I am not sure my school will want to send a new updated I-20 because I already requested for one and they said they are not issuing new I-20 for Fall again. degxyflexy: Please do I write my spouse name as it was written in her I-20 or the way it was on her passport when filling the DS 160 form? She did a change of name and got a new passport as married but the school wrote her name on the I-20 form as it is on the wedding certificate which was only her maiden name before wedding. We Okay if you submitted the wedding certificate when requesting for her i-20 then they will write it the way it was there. Fill her information how it is on her international passport and request for a new i-20 to match her international passport name if you can |

CreativeWeb: DS-160 Question.
F1 Visa. If I will be traveling with my kids, do I need to mention that I will be traveling with them now in the DS160 or should I wait to get the visa first, so that they can apply for f2?
Or should I apply for f2 for them immediately and go with them for interview? You can Include them in your DS 160 and also go with them for the interview. That means you will pay visa fee for each, fill DS 160 for each and request for i-20 for each of them |
