A former wife of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo has alleged that he has hired assassins to murder her and her son, Juwon.

In a press statement released by Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo,she claims Obasanjo wants them dead because of their support for the Buhari-led government.

Read the statement below:

I am Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo and l want to alert the whole world that my life and that of my son Mr Abraham Olujonwo Obasanjo is under threat due to our decision to support President Muhammadu Buhari in the last election.

I was reliably told that Chief Obasanjo is not pleased with our decision to support Buhari and he has sent out assassin to kill me and my Son for publicly coming out in supporting President Buhari.

From the reliable information at my disposal, it was disclosed to me that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has paid the assassins who are already trailing me to kill me and my Son Olujonwo.

The assassins intend to kill me first and make it appear as an armed robbery operation.

The second phase of the plot is to kill my son, Olujonwo in another armed robbery attack in the night.

I want the world to know that my life and that of my son, Olujonwo is under threat for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari in the last election.

I am crying out now to let the whole world know who to blame if anything happen

Since President Buhari won the election Chief Obasanjo have developed very strong hatred for me and my son and he does not speak to my Son again or pick his calls.

I am appealing to anyone who knows ‘Baba Obasanjo” to please tell him not to kill me and my Son. Politics should not be a do or die for him and it should not become a crime that must bring me and my Son death because we are supporting President Buhari.

“I am also appealing to the police and other security agencies to please come to our aid. This is a serious threat and the police should please help us.” Chief Obasanjo has vowed that he will kill us both and nothing will happen.

This matter is not a joking matter.

This issue is not imaginary or attention seeking or a publicity stunt.

Photo of a Nigerian killed in South Africa, Samuel Nkennaya, has emerged

Samuel was reportedly accused of kidnapping a girl, who happened to be his daughter. He was mobbed by the members of the community who couldn’t wait to confirm the real identity of the young girl, who reportedly couldn’t is not old enough to identify herself.

According to a statement by the Secretary of Mpumalanga Province branch of the Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA), Victor Ayanfe-Oyebanjo, Nkennaya and his friend Nwudo were attacked following accusations that both men kidnapped the 6-year-old girl identified as Chinonye.

Ayanfe-Oyebanjo said trouble started when Nwudo took his six-year-old daughter, Chinonye, to visit Nkennaya at White River town in the evening of April 27. Later, Nwudo and Nkennaya proceeded to buy food for Nwudo’s daughter, Chinonye, at KFC restaurant in the area. Shortly after buying the food, some bystanders raised false alarm alleging that both men kidnapped the six-year-old girl.

The community members immediately descended on them, beating them with different kinds of weapons. Nwudo began to shout that the girl was his daughter and pleaded that they speak to his South African wife to confirm his claim – which actually saved his life.

The statement added that the police later intervened and called for backup to rescue the victims. Nkennaya died at the hospital on Sunday April 28th while Nwudo is in critical health condition.

While sharing a photo of Samuel with friends, a Nigerian man based in Mpulanga said the mob only had to wait for confirmation of the men’s claims rather than mob them.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has stated what will happen to Nigeria in next 4 years.

In a statement he made on his social media pare earlier today, Osinbajo wrote that President Muhammadu Buhari has made it clear that his administration will focus on physical structure and human capital development.

He then further mentioned that Nigeria will also focus more attention on the education sector, with specific focus on the education of the girl child.

In the end, he mentioned that Nigeria will prevail.

A Nigerian man identified as Ebuka Udugbo has been allegedly killed by the South African police.

This is according to a report by the president, Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA), Ben Okoli, who made the confirmation of the

Okoli, in a letter to the Consul General, Nigerian Consulate in South Africa, explained that the late Ebuka Udugbo on April 28 had a disagreement with one Miss Linda, who was his girlfriend and was subsequently arrested by South African Police.

He was later reported dead in their custody.

He said:

“The information we got initially was that he committed suic*de while in the South African Police custody in Cape Town. We conducted our own preliminary investigation over the circumstances surrounding his death.
“What we discovered was really shocking and disheartening from our findings. “The late Udugbo had a quarrel with his girlfriend and left the house at about 9 a.m on April 28 to avoid further altercation with his girlfriend.”

According to him, the deceased was arrested by the Police in town and taken to his house where he was severely beaten before being taken to their station.

“The police took his car keys, left the car by the way and drove with him back to his house in the Police car along with the girlfriend.
“He was severely beaten by the cops in his house and he fainted. At this point the landlord’s son feared and told the police to take him to the hospital.
“The police refused, and instead they took him to the police station where they claimed that he had allegedly killed himself.”

He further stated that Udugbo’s relatives went to the station and were told that Udugbo had committed suicide.

“We do not accept this police story, we believed that he was killed right in the police station and hanged afterwards.
“His case was that of domestic violence, and does not warrant the police to beat him since he did not in any way resist arrest.”

Fifty-nine commercial sex workers in Calabar have been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS)

In a report by Vanguard, Mr Ilupeju Adebayo, Director of the DSS Command in Cross River, made the disclosure to newsmen on Saturday in Calabar.

He said those arrested were picked up around 2:15 a.m on Saturday at the Peace Garden Hotel and Papsi Place, Calabar and they are made up of 43 girls and 16 men.

He said:

“We got an intelligence report and swung into action. We have been on the matter for months. We discovered that the girls are mostly underage, mostly between the ages of 13, 15, and 19 years of age.

“We also know that they were brought in by a cartel, deeply involved in the business of trafficking and using the girls as commercial sex workers.

“The girls then bring returns to them at the beginning or close of the week, depending on their modus operandi.

“We have made some arrests including that of the owner of Papsi Place, a brothel that houses mostly underage girls who pay him N2,000 on week days and N4,000 at weekends as lodging fees.

“They operate from the hotel, to clubs were we arrested them stark naked.

“We have contacted the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), while investigations are ongoing until all those involved in the illicit trade are arrested and charged to court,’’

Nigerian singer Davido has taken to Instagram to share a screenshot of a message allegedly sent to him by a yahoo boy.

In the screenshot the singer posted on his timeline, the contact told him about a doctor abroad who was worth 8 million dollars.

He told Davido they should wire her some money because he is billing her and she doesn’t want to pay.

Davido responded by asking if he is a yahoo boy.

Surprisingly, the singer tagged Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile who have openly supported online fraud.

Davido himself had recently come under fire after supposedly showed support for Yahoo boys in a comment he made via a post on Instagram.

The singer had written: “No body holy pass”, which was translated as though he was lending his support to the menace that has eaten deep into the society.

Naira Marley, on his own, had blamed online fraud on slavery saying what yahoo boys do is nothing when compared to slavery. This made him to be called out by popular social media influencer , Tunde Ednut, after which Davido came to his defense by saying “No body is holy”.

Tunde Ednut himself was later called out for getting support from Yahoo boys, both within and outside the country.

Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunyolo, has taken to her Instagram page celebrate her brother whom she regarded as a celebrity chef, while saying Chioma’s Chef title is fake.

Kemi Olunloyo’s bother Shola Olunyolo, who is based in the United States, is an engineer, but recently got certification as a celebrity chef in the state of Philadelphia.

She wrote;

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Northern State chapter, has reacted to the release of Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian lady who was wrongly detained in Saudi Arabia for trafficking Tramadol.

In a statement released by its public relations officer, Rev. Joseph Hayab, the Christian body while celebrating Zainab’s release, expressed concerns over the continued detention of Leah Sharibu.

Reverend Hayab in the statement, said he is forced to ask if some Nigerians are more important than others since the Federal government was fast in ensuring the safe return of Zainab.

The statement in part reads

CAN Northern states rejoices with the parents of Zainab Aliyu and the government of our country for securing her release after she was arrested and detained in Saudi Arabia for allegations of drug trafficking.

It is sad that many innocent Nigerians are suffering for a crime they know nothing about. This prompt effort by government is commendable and should be sustained for all and in the future, because this is what we want to see from our leaders in this country.

But as we rejoice about this development, we are also compelled to ask this important question: Are all Nigerians equal or some are more equal than others?

We are aware that many innocent citizens of our country have been arrested, some killed and others are still in detention; but we have not heard any directives from Mr. President to his Attorney General to take action about them with this kind of urgency.

If we want our citizens to be proud of their government and country, then we need to show equal concern about what happens to everyone in this country. We cannot also celebrate the release of Zainab and forget Leah Sharibu who did not commit any crime but has been in captivity for over a year now.

We, therefore, appeal to President Buhari to direct his security agencies to double their efforts and get Leah released and reunited with her parents. Leah, too, wants to enjoy the protection of her leaders”.

A Lagos Cabman has taken to twitter to rant after he got just N500 reward when he returned a lady’s N25,000 and her International passport she left in his cab.

According to the cabman, the woman left the purse in his car after he dropped her at her home. He had already driven off before he realised there was a purse at his backseat.

He then drove back to her house and gave her the purse with her money and International passport intact.

But to his total dismay, she only offered him N500 as reward for his good dead. This made him tag her ‘ungrateful’

A Nigerian lady has claimed that a man driving in his SUV on an express road in Abuja suddenly flung wads of $100 bills from his moving vehicle.

According to the lady, this caused mild chaos on the busy express road in Abuja – Katampe Express to be precise – as many drivers including her Uber driver stopped their vehicles to pick the littered bills on the road.

She posted on twitter:

The weirdest this just happened @oyanbo. As we pulled up on Katampe express, someone flung a bundle of hundred dollars bills from his SUV window. People including my Uber driver parked to pick. On the express like this. He got two bills but they look fake against one in my purse.

The dollar bills were however reported to be fake after being compared with original $100 bills.
Some people claimed that could be the new plot by robbers to rob greedy and unsuspecting commuters.

Ghanaian singer Kwesi Arthur has opened up on his sojourn into music in a new interview, where he mentioned that he started as a cleaner in a music studio in his neighborhood.

While speaking with Olisa of Beat FM on The Morning Rush, Kwesi stated that he started music after he left secondary school in 2013, but had to undergo mentor-ship at the studio to hone his crafts.

Kwesi, who is currently in Nigeria to shoot a music video with a Nigerian artsiste also mentioned that Drake is his biggest influence in music as he was motivated to do music after listening to the Canadian rapper.

When he was asked about the artistes he revered most in Nigeria, he mentioned the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Odunsi and Zlatan Ibile.

A woman has reportedly collapsed at Kwaku in Ghana after seeing dead husband in another town.

According to reports, her husband was believed to have been dead two years ago.

He was however sighted in the company of another young woman, who was reported to be his girlfriend.

The woman, upon sighting her husband, got shocked and alarmed, and so decided to monitor their every move. She trailed them to a guesthouse where they were said to be lodging for the festivities.

Upon inquiry, the manager reportedly confirmed to the woman that the husband and the girlfriend had checked into the guesthouse the previous night. The woman was said to have called the police to the scene to help address her confusion.

However, upon arriving at the guesthouse, both the man and the girlfriend were found dead.

“They came in very drunk and started kissing as soon as we gave them the keys but we don’t know what happened next,” the guesthouse manager says.

The police commander at Kwaku was said to have confirmed the incident in an interview with Joy FM.

“We rushed to the scene as soon as we received a call from the woman. We found her husband with a 25-year-old lady who was also dead. We believe their death was caused by over-excitement but we’re still investigating,” the commander says.

However, it cannot be verified if the said man was indeed dead as the wife claimed, or he had, in a way, fled to be with his girlfriend.

Perhaps, he had gone out of the house without ever returning, which makes his family attribute his long absence to his death.

The woman was said to have collapsed and was receiving treatment at a private hospital.

West African countries Nigeria and Ghana plan to go into partnership in the fight against cybercrimes across the 2 countries, Ghanaian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Alhaji Rashid Bawa, revealed.

During a courtesy visit to the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service in Cross River State, Mr Felix Uche, Bawa noted that the collaboration of Nigeria and Ghana in this fight will lead to its reduction, especially among the young population, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He said

“As we speak, this matter is been discussed at the highest level. The Comptroller General of the Ghanaian Immigration Service and his counterpart in Nigeria had a fruitful discussion about this a month ago.

“Experts from Ghana and Nigeria will be meeting soon to come out with a road map to deal with some of these issues that are currently taking place.

“In the course of the discussion, it came out clearly that there are cartels that operate behind these cyber crimes and prostitution of our young ones.

“Ghana believes that with the collaboration, Nigerian Government and security services will help to unravel the root causes as the laws of each country will be applied to minimise crimes.”

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz allegedly accused Peter of P-square of destroying his marriage.

In a video recently shared by his ex-wife, Zari, Diamond Platnumz in an interview could be seen speaking on how his marriage to the woman was destroyed by Peter.

He had alleged that Peter slept with his wife, which eventually led to their breakup.

Durban floods: Heavy rainfall in the eastern part of South Africa, especially Durban, has led to the death of more than 30 people on Tuesday.

Durban was one of the hardest-hit areas with more than 150 mm (6 inches) falling on the city within a 12-hour period.

Normal rainfall for the entire month of April is only around 90 mm (3.5 inches)

4 people were reported dead in one Malvern house overnight, another fatality was recorded in Overport. The tragedy has worsened, with two young children now found in the wreckage of a Queensburgh home.

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) stated on Tuesday that at least 32 people had been killed due to flooding and mudslides, according to Independent Online.

While South Africans pray for the safety of those affected, residents and witnesses in the area have taken to social media to share the devastating effects of the flood, under the hashtags #DurbanFloods and #KZNFloods.

A man has been arrested after he allegedly sent death threats to lady who dumped him after they slept together on their 2nd date.

The man identified as Victor Kruchinkin, 32, had sent series of text messages to Christiana Amao, telling her he was a psycho and she was lucky to be alive after she jilted him.

Kruchinkin lost his job after his arrest at his desk at Adams & Remers Solicitors in London’s Pall Mall.

He and business analyst Christiana hooked up on the Bumble dating app but she finished with him after they had sex on their second date.

She has since left London for a work placement in New York and a pal last night said: “She was upset after what that creepy, creepy guy did.”

Prosecutor Gregor McKinley told Southwark crown court:

“He said, ‘You invited a psycho into your bed. You’re lucky to be alive right now.’”

Christiana told the court:

“I was extremely worried he would try and take my life.”

Tahir Ali, defending, said he had Asperger syndrome which affected his behaviour.

Kruchinkin, of Kilburn, North West London, admitted causing annoyance or anxiety online. But he won an appeal to have his six-week suspended prison term reduced to a 12-month community order with 100 hours’ unpaid work.

Students and staff of Huntsville High School, Huntsville, Alabama have been paying tributes to gay boy Nigel Shelby, the 15-year-old high school student who committed suicide last week.

Nigel Shelby reportedly killed himself after being bullied by his schoolmates for being gay.

According to multiple Facebook reports, Nigel Shelby who was a student at Huntsville High School committed suicide on Friday after being bullied relentlessly.

“We were saddened to learn this morning of the death of Nigel Shelby, one of our 9th-grade students. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,” said the principal of the school.

“We are heartbroken over the death of Nigel Shelby, a 15 year old freshman at Huntsville High School,” Rocket City Pride, the local LGBTQ+ Pride organization said in a statement. “Nigel took his life because he was bullied for being gay. There are no words that can be said to make sense of this devastating news.”

Huntsville High principal, Aaron King addressed the tragic death in a post to parents, writing:

“We were saddened to learn this morning of the death of Nigel Shelby, one of our 9th-grade students. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.”

Huntsville City Schools Superintendent Christie Finley also addressed it at Monday’s school board meeting, saying:

“I want to take a brief moment to speak about the recent loss of a Huntsville high school student, Nigel Shelby. I spent most of the weekend really processing this loss and I’m sure many of you have as well. And we will for a while to come.

It’s clear to me that the simple word of the golden rule has really become more difficult for many to understand and to practice and it is time as a society to value, respect and uplift one another.”

She added:

“It is time for us to come together. Now is the time for us to teach our children and our students the values of acceptance, kindness, generosity, helpfulness and basically just being a human being.”

A candlelight vigil was held for the late student on Sunday night.

Radio show host Amir Diamond wrote:

I dedicated tonight’s show to Nigel Shelby. He was a 15-year-old boy who committed suicide after being bullied for being gay. I see myself in him. I was also bullied when I was young, because of my sexuality. I made an instagram video last year that discussed my coming out experience, because I wanted kids like Nigel to see me and know that it’s okay to be who they are.

My hope and my prayer is that kids who identify with the LGBTQA community will be able to be stand strong in who they are (despite what anyone else has to say about it).

I hope that the rest of the world supports those who are in the LGBTQA community (even if they don’t understand it). We have to teach the younger generations coming up to love EVERYBODY. You never know what someone’s going through.

Rest In Peace, Nigel.

The management of the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls has released a statement stating that the lady rescued by popular Lagos Pastor Tony Rapu, Lizzy didn't attend Vivian Fowler College.

This is in reaction to the initial story of the rescued girl, who was reported to have attended both Caleb and Vivian Fowler.
In her statement while speaking with Pastor Tony Rapu, Lizzy had revealed that she attended the two schools.

She said:

"I couldn't visit any rehabilitation because I thought it wouldn't help. I started with weed smoking, then one day, my boyfriend told me he had been adding cocaine and I was surprised.

I asked him why he would do such without my consent, but it wasn't long before I got addicted to it."It became so critical that I had to take to begging at day and prostitution at night. I attended Caleb Nursery and Primary School and Vivian Fowler Secondary School.

"I have been hearing of Tony Rapu, but missed seeing him earlier when he came to our community (Ikeja), he came for Bukky then. I have been waiting for this day when I would meet him. I know he is the only one that can help me get over this,"

The Head of the Police Complaint Response Unit (CRU) Abayomi Shogunle has advised members of the public to speak pidgin English to police officers to avoid problems with them.

He made the statement on his twitter page while sharing a video where a Senior Police officer was addressing some officers of the Force.

The senior police officer, in his speech, told the officers to desist from killing innocent citizens and while speaking, he switched to Pidgin English to make himself clearer to the officers.

Yomi Shogunle in his reaction then wrote that it will be okay if citizens can also communicate to police officers in the language they best understand, instead of speaking big grammars to them.

A Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH doctor has allegedly abandoned a patient in the surgical room after her family refused to heed to his advice of taking her to his private hospital.

The report was posted on social media by popular social media influencer, Japhet Omojuwa, who was allegedly contacted by the son of the patient.

The medical doctor allegedly asked the family of the patient to pay N1.2million into the account of the private hospital, despite making an initial payment of about N1million at the DELSUTH.

Omojuwa, who posted the story had written:

His mum was admitted at the Delta State Teaching Hospital. They had paid over N1m for her treatment. The same Doctors who abandoned the mum are suggesting they pay another N1.2m to a private hospital for her to get treatment. How is this not criminal?

Pope Francis, on Thursday, knelt to kiss the feet of South Sudan’s previously warring leaders, in a dramatic gesture after an unprecedented retreat at the Vatican.

The Pope, however, urged them to not return to a civil war.

He also appealed to President Salva Kiir, his former deputy turned rebel leader Riek Machar, and three other vice presidents to respect a peace agreement they signed and commit to forming a unity government in May.

“I am asking you as a brother to stay in peace. I am asking you with my heart, let us go forward.

“There will be many problems but they will not overcome us. Resolve your problems,” Francis said in improvised remarks.

The leaders appeared to be stunned as the 82-year-old pope, helped by aides, knelt with difficulty to kiss the shoes of the two main opposing leaders and several other people in the room.

The Pope’s words were made even more pressing as anxiety grew in South Sudan over whether Thursday’s coup in neighbouring Sudan could scupper a fragile peace deal that ended South Sudan’s brutal five-year civil war.

The Vatican brought together South Sudanese leaders for 24 hours of prayer and preaching inside the pope’s residence in a last ditch attempt to heal bitter divisions a month before the war-ravaged nation is due to set up a unity government.

A Nigerian lawyer Ali Fadeela has taken to her Instagram page to expose a man she allegedly caught molesting 11-year-old girl inside Keke Napep.

According to the lady, she noticed the man was making some suspicious movements while she was in the tricycle with him and the young girl. He was later reportedly caught rubbing his hands on the girl's laps.

She confronted him when they alighted from the keke and surprisingly he didn't deny the accusation.

She reported that he started begging and she had to let him go after other people joined in to beg on his behalf.

For the first time in a long time, i remembered why i studied law. my heart is so pained right now. I have always heard about adults sexually assaulting children but today i witness one that the thought of it still lingers and would for a long time.

The cruelty of human beings is crazy. I entered keke today and saw this man whose picture u see, touching an 11 year old girl on school uniform. At first i noticed him adjusting himself every now and then and she had this look of disgust on her face so i observed more and saw this paedophile mistake of a man rubbing his hands on her lap and when she moves he quickly puts his hand back in his pocket.

So i asked her if he was disturbing her and she confirmed it, now i didnt have to because i saw it with my eyes but i wanted to be sure she knew what was being done to her... i dragged him out, tried to drag his sorry ass to the police and he started begging but i am more pained that i couldnt do more.

People gathered and where begging to let him go and for some reason i did but i feel i owed it to the girl and others like her to do more... we are all responsible for the children in this world whether or not we are related by blood or religion or tribe. Every girl child or even adult should know that they have the absolute right over their body.

I saw a scared girl who couldnt raise her voice and i know there are so many out there in her shoes. We should teach our children, sisters, friends, neighbours, wards to always raise an alarm when put in that position. We should be observant of what goes on around us especially where u have children involved.

And though i couldnt do more but we should all endeavour to do more.. keeping quiet is never the answer to abuse... paedophiles are sick heartless creatures and should be treated as such..

p.s. i am sharing the picture of this man because i want any body that sees him to give him a hot slap on behalf of that child and every other child he must have tried to assault. Lets be our brothers keepers..
