stagger:
They are running a business. You want to use their free platform and make all the money without sharing some of it?

It doesn't have to be free. I just think it's too expensive what they're charging, that's all.
Yahoo used to be king of the internet. They started charging a lot for their services. Google came from behind, and decimated yahoo by offering same services for way less.
Everything in moderation.

If you're not sure what I just said, watch...

Also, why change policy at a time like this when businesses are falling into bankruptcy?

Business / End Of Free Adverts In Jiji by unikwa: 9:15pm On Jun 18, 2020
It looks like jiji is no longer free.
They closed my advert. And when I tried to reactivate it, they are asking for the following...

N2,499 for 7 days.

N8,999 for 30 days.

I doubt they know what the country is going through.

Business / Captcha On E-cmmerce Sites by unikwa: 10:11pm On Jun 14, 2020
Is it just me or is it very annoying that https:/// and / are using CAPTCHA that times out often?

You would solve the captcha, and be browsing normally. Then suddenly, another captcha would pop up again.
If I'm browsing actively, why can't the website know that I'm the same person, and not time me out?

The proper way should be that each time a page is loaded, the timer should be reset to zero, and start counting up again.
Only if I happen to stay idle for a long time, should the site pop up a new captcha.

I hope these guys see this post and make necessary adjustment.

God bless Zulum. He is very close to the common man. The former governor Kashim Shettima was excellent too.

Politics / Re: Sanusi: Nigeria Will Go Bankrupt With Current Governance Structure by unikwa: 5:26pm On Jun 14, 2020
I have been harping on high cost of governance for a long time. But as long as they can borrow to keep paying salaries, that is exactly what they will do. New cars for senators every year will continue.

If borrowing is blocked, they would begin raising taxes, and concocting new bank charges on people's savings and transactions.
Nigeria belongs to the elites. Their immediate needs come first.

President Buhari doesn't know what is going on on the street, as he lives in an echo chamber.

Nigeria needs people in power like...
Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno,
Gov. Abdulrazaq of Kwara,
Gov. El Rufai,
Emir Sanusi,
Omoyele Sowore,
and the like.

Patience is wearing thin, and the noise from Biafra, and Oduduwa is getting louder.
I hope Buhari listens and commences the process of restructuring the unreasonably high salaries people in power take home.

I have been hearing so many good things since the current governor (AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq) took over from Saraki and Abdulfatah.
I know it was a foundation that did the work in this case, but where were the foundations in last 16yrs of previous governors?

God bless the governor for bringing positive change to Kwara. Out of generosity, he doesn't even take his salary. He donated his salary toward building Kwara.
Politics / Re: Aregbesola Commissions 10 Fire Fighter Trucks Worth N1.8 Billion (Photos) by unikwa: 7:29pm On Jun 10, 2020
Do you have good roads for the vehicles to travel on?
Would there be water available?
Does Nigeria's emergency phone number work?

There are a lot of things that make emergency services effective. Not just vehicles alone.

Having said that, I commend the governor for spending the money on good things, rather than embezzle it. Well done sir.
Crime / Re: Maroof Adebayo 'Marufu Alujo' Raped Me - 15-year-old Girl Accuses Fuji Musician by unikwa: 7:23pm On Jun 10, 2020
This is another reason why the country must be fixed.
No parent would send a 15-yr old alone to hawk, if not for poverty that has gripped the country.
So it's not only the rapist that is guilty. The govt is too. Children in developed countries don't hawk.
I actually think hawking by children should be banned. A lot of children are destroyed by rape, and many won't talk about it because of shame or intimidation. Due to depression, many end up committing suicide, or they hate men the rest of their lives.

Crime / Re: Justify Rape, Get Arrested – NAPTIP Tells Nigerians by unikwa: 6:49pm On Jun 10, 2020
When is Nigeria going to grow up as a nation?

Anybody should have the freedom to say whatever they want, even if that thing is wrong. The only exception is hate speech that incites unrest. Why in the world should someone be arrested for airing his opinion about rape? That is totalitarian and should not be condoned.

If someone is to be arrested, it should be in response to allegations against him.

Nigerians need to fight for freedom of speech. Never support dictatorial policies like this. Once you let them arrest people for speech, they'd use that power to arrest for other things too without probable cause.

Car Talk / American Trucks Parts by unikwa: 3:28pm On Jun 08, 2020
For heavy duty trucks, certain European brands dominate in Nigeria. Examples are: MAN, Iveco, HOWO, Daf, Benz, Scania, etc.

But what about American brands like: Freightliner, Peterbilt, Mack, International, Kenworth, etc.
Are their spare parts available for them in Nigeria?

Otherwise, heavy load could buckle/break it while in motion.

Also, is that a 300W solar panel? It won't be enough. It would take about 5 hours to charge one 100Ah battery with one 300W solar panel.
He could probably make the nose longer, and add some flexible solar panels there too.

Something like this is OK as a golf cart. But dangerous to drive on the road.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Bush, Romney Won't Support Trump Re-Election - New York Times by unikwa: 1:51pm On Jun 08, 2020
Bush and Romney are Never-Trumpers.
The anti-Trump conservative bloc is both fairly small and not that remarkable.
Many of them opposed Trump in 2016, because he wasn't expected to govern as a conservative. But Trump surprised everybody by being even more of a conservative than Ronald Reagan.

Staunch anti-Trump talk radio hosts like Mark Levine, Ben Shapiro, have since done a 180 degree turn and now support Trump 100%.

Also, Trump has a higher chance of winning again because many groups support him like #walkaway, #blexit, etc.
If blacks don't vote for Trump, it won't matter, because they never did before. Most vote Democrat because of welfare, especially the women.

As for Biden, he is the worst possible candidate they could have picked. So many scandals. Ukraine Burisma bribery, rape allegation (8 women), incoherence and forgetfulness, condescending toward blacks, cocaine addict son, kissing children on the lips, Hunter Biden taking his brother's wife, walking gaffe machine, plagiarism, etc. Trump has a lot of material to work with at the debates.

Biden also had a lot of failures as Obama's VP. Fast and Furious, Syrian Red Line, Beau Bergdahl, Benghazi, IRS targeting scandal, NSA mass surveillance, Ukraine Crimea scandal, Iran nuclear deal, FISA abuse, open borders, ... Too many to list.

Chinese Corona virus decimated the American economy. The bad economy should have killed Trump's chances of re-election. But Americans say they do not blame Trump for the virus. Furthermore, employers are hiring again, stock market has rebounded strongly, e.g. the Dow is now over 27,000, from its low of 18,000. These are a good sign for Trump.

No, I couldn't say that. All I'm saying is that we should've gone past this level of development.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. In fact, Nigeria didn't even need to strive to attain greatness, because of easy oil money.

Nevertheless, Nigerians don't stand up for their right, and they are the ones who keep voting the crooked politicians back into power.
I can't really blame the politicians. I can use an abused wife as an analogy. If a battered wife continues to stay with her abusive husband, can you really blame the man?

If a politician knows you're not going complain about all his empty promises, he would keep on making empty promises. This is not only in Nigeria BTW. It is true everywhere in the world where democracy is practiced.

If just one million Nigerians descended on Aso Rock, and streamed it live on youtube, the politicians would get the message.

Fix the country, and crime rate would reduce.
You politicians had the opportunity to make Nigeria one of the G8 countries. But you embezzled all the money, and dumped all of it in foreign countries.
Now the chicken is coming home to roost. Jobless criminals everywhere. Well done politicians.

It is well. This is 2020 and Nigeria is celebrating the completion of a Railway Station and even boasting that the previous Governments couldn't build any. Other Countries are celebrating milestone achievements but here we are, making comparisons over a Train Station.

Nigeria is behind no doubt. But are you saying you prefer that Nigeria remains behind, rather than take steps, albeit into obsolete technology?
I would take obsolete tech, over no tech.
Travel / Re: Ajaokuta-Itakpe-Warri Railway To Be Commissioned Soon (Photos) by unikwa: 1:41am On Jun 04, 2020
Well done president Buhari.
The president is almost useless in his role as leader of Nigeria.
However, I give credit where credit is due.
Ajaokuta has been abandoned for 40 years. If Buhari can manage to get it working, 500,000 jobs would be created.
70 megawatts of electricity will be generated,
10+ million tons of steel would be manufactured each year. That is steel Nigeria would no longer be importing with hard currency.

Ajaokuta would change Nigeria into an industrialized country. If Buhari can get Ajaokuta working, I would forgive his other incompetence.

(3) ALL PLAGUES HAVE A NATURAL LIFE-CYCLE, AND EVENTUALLY CEASE, EVEN WHEN VIABLE HOSTS ABOUND.

For instance: EBOLA should be wiping us out, RIGHT NOW- but it is not. There is surely some pompous secular Scientist explanation for this, that I do not know.

The reason is that immunity is built up over time. Unless the virus keeps mutating, it'd ultimately seize being deadly.

People with weak immune system are killed by the virus. Those who survive are naturally immunized. When you get a flu shot every year, you are being injected with tiny amounts of the influenza virus, which then triggers your immune system to create antibodies. By the time you contract the real flu virus, you're already immune to it.

do you have maize for sale!

No, no maize for sale. We're in the planning stages. That is why I asked the question.
I'm hoping someone here knows the answer.

Are you looking to purchase maize, or you're concerned about competition?
Agriculture / Multiple Maize Harvests by unikwa: 11:43pm On May 29, 2020
Question for the agric experts.

Is it possible to have multiple maize harvests on the same land?

Let's say I want to have three harvests in one year, can it be done on the same one acre of land?

I'm thinking of using irrigation.

My concern is with the depletion of nutrients. I know maize is extremely hungry, and will take all nutrients out of the ground.

A new outrageous policy is instituted. Everybody grumbles for a few days, and that is the end of it. Until the next policy again.
That does not work.

A lasting solution is required. In the next election, opt to elect people with good ideas on how to run an economy.

APC/PDP have the same policies, and they don't work.

Kindly give me an idea of the cost to ship a truck like this...

From Europe to Lagos.
Europe could be Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, etc.

I would like to know the shipping + clearing cost.

Let's assume it costs 10,000 Euros to buy.

Thank you.
