Cross Rivers State Governor Ben Ayade has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Ayade announced his decision on Thursday morning after a closed-door meeting with six APC governors and some members of the National Assembly who visited him at the Government House.

Members of the state executive council were also at the meeting.

The governors who visited Ayade include Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State; Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State; Simon Lalong of Plateau State; Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa State, and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Do you know that the electoral act we are currently using has a section that states that court can't determine the winner of an election, but that part was declared to be void by a FHC and the ruling wasn't appealed till date, that is the reason why court is still declaring winner of an election.
So a suit might result to a ruling nullifying that aspect of the law, because the bill was passed doesn't make it legal, it's just like the case of Hisbah destroying people's business in the name of Sharia law, it can't stand the test of the law of challenge at the court, but no one is ready for that due to some interest, most especially, political interest.

Make somebody appeal against the rule na. Let's test the waters.

Mobile Court can try offenders and convict them, no doubt about that, but they can't declare that item of value be auctioned off, a superior court otherwise known as court of records are vested with such power.
Imagine such asset is tied to a loan? What will happen?
If such should go viral, that is, other states going same route, someone will definitely challenge it in court and we are going to see the true stance of the law.

But the punishment for such an offense has been stated clearly in 5he Lagos State Traffic and Other Offense Law.

My response is on the legality of the process. Using mobile court to auction off property is wrong, it's just like a magistrate court giving order for building demolition.

The mobile court is mainly there to try the offender and the stipulated penalty if found guilty is three months jail time and forfeiture of car to the state.

I was arrested for driving one way too and I was charged to court. I however chose to settle out of court and I paid 200k into government account. If I hadn't chosen that option I'd have been made to face the court and the court will surely rule against me because pictorial and video evidences are presented in court by the arresting officials.
