nearest:You are a poor student of history. Maybe you need to take a look at the pattern of promotions 'service wide' since before Obasanjo became military president at the death of Murtala. If you have the patience, you could go to 1966. No offence intended. |
Wow, Strategic! Parnassuss:How do you mean please? |
Ileke-IdI:I agree it was a funny joke albeit a wicked one Ileke-Idi, ![]() I think questioning the importance of the election is the most sensible thing to do, not condemn the Catholic church because a Nigerian is voted into one of its affiliates. As for importance, I think the group is a voluntary organisation, with functions similar to the Rotary Club. Would it then be wise to condemn the Rotary Club because it is based in the West and shares an ideology of selflessness? |
Ileke-IdI:lol, for where dey no fit taint me oh, though you have not taken a side yet! |
I have noticed a trend on nairaland. if you start a thread and some people condemn it, all others will join the bandwagon. such cowardice really beats me. Everybody is hating but what is wrong with a Nigerian being elected into a Catholic body? After all there is no single religious body in the world that has reached out in terms of charity and other humanitarian services like the Catholic church. what you should rather say is for him to make sure Nigerians and indeed Africa benefit from the goodies of the Church has to spread around. HATERS, get a MIND EACH and EVERYONE of YOU! |

I think chris has a point. I don't know if he is an atheist and I don't care. The truth is that miracles happen, but Chris raised very vital questions (though he generalised) If it is true that the woman does not breast feed, foetus did not show on ulta scan etc, then his doubts are valid and people should be sceptical of such "miracles" Don't use God's name in vain to boost business |

@muza, before u crucify Daily Trust you must know just one thing. Daily Trust did not fraudulently quote "credible source(s)" in the whole story as other papers do. It compared the budget proposal sent by Yar,adua and the one by Goodluck Jonathan. Muza u are wrong, if u had cared to read the story, u wld have seen that it was a public document that was quoted; this document is open to the public and all journalists just that Daily Trust went the extra mile |
Budget Jump for Nigeria @50:Yar’adua - N62 million - Jonathan : N10 billion Written by Abdul-Rahman Abubakar, Turaki A. Hassan & Francis Okeke Wednesday, 16 June 2010 05:31 The Federal Government’s 2010 budget proposals submitted by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua to the National Assembly last November proposed to spend only N62 million to celebrate this country’s 50th Independence anniversary in October but President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration later hiked it to N10 billion, Daily Trust’s checks revealed. The N10 billion proposal is contained in the 2010 Supplementary Budget proposals sent to the National Assembly by President Jonathan two weeks ago. In the original 2010 budget proposal, N7.4 million was requested for the Information and Communication Ministry to celebrate Independence Day, while N52 million was requested for the Interior Ministry and another N2.9 million was voted for the Police Affairs Ministry. Yar’adua did not plan a lavish 50th anniversary as there were no budget provisions for the Presidency, the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) or any other ministries that are now to spend billions of naira for the October party. and to think Nigerians called Yar'adua a thief. Even the "all powerful" Turai did not get a kobo in the proposal for the office of the first lady http://www.news.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20581:budget-jump-for-nigeria-50yaradua-n62-million-jonathan-n10-billion-&catid=46:lead-stories&Itemid=140 |
for very obvious reasons; "Quality" for starters. |
slyfoxxjoe:the cliche "look before you leap!" easily comes to mind. If you had read like 5 or 6 replies, you wouldn't have exposed your shallowness and that sucks really. Viewlekan is right; you "must be deluded or just self-absorbed" |
