I really am an optimist even in the darkest of times but the future of Nigeria is very bleak. I don't see this country lasting beyond 2020. It is a pity. |
snowytee: Forgive him,he is still ignorant.Since after the civil war, the igbos have never had it so good.A region that has been languishing withou an international airport for decades and Jonathan just fixed that.Has he seen the strides igbos are making in the Army? The man is even trying to fix a seaport close to home for the Igbos.Does he know that one of the reasons the haters want him out is because development is spreading to igbo land?Leave the child alone, abegVery easy to grasp. Thank you |
eio2013: Olodo! No insults please. I said people I know call it so. For me, I still believe this govt favours the Igbos. Those who accuse the Igbos of playing second fiddle to Ijaws held power for decades and never considered "giving" it to Igbos but will now "dash" it to Igbos because they hate GEJ Truly, you don't need the Presidency to develop your place; what you need are the right policies and I think there is a quantum leap for the southeast from what obtained in the past. Again, igbo sons and daughters are strategically placed in this government. |
Abagworo: He said that those who criticize him for joining APC have failed to take into account that no Igbo man was currently holding any of the six key positions in the administrative of the country.I think the above claim is totally misleading though he did not define what six key positions he meant. I believe only the Yorubas in the country today (among the big three) have the right to claim marginalisation: I also think it is their strategy of building opposition against GEJ in their region because for eg, they fought against therir own becoming Speaker. The Hausas may cry wolf too because of "zoning" but to say this governemnt has not favoured Igbos is a barefaced lie by Rochas. People I know even call this govt Biafran Govt. |
And you still wonder why some Nigerians want to burn their passports? We have leaders who don't care. Varsity teachers have been on strike for two months now and it is a very "usual" situation! Where do I even start? celeboi: This is a country that value the lives of it citizens. |
owolabifunke14: No good thing can come out of abia state until 2015..But your sister found a good thing in 2013 abi? ![]() |
I totally agree that strike actions have adverse effect on education but strike is the only weapon available to ASUU. Government signs an agreement and refuses to implement it after 4 years. ASUU calls press conference appealing to government and all Nigerians: Government remains unperturbed. ASUU goes on strike and someone says there are better ways to agitate. Please if you have a better weapon than strike say it and stop telling striking workers to find it. |
Yazmin: Which one be first city merchant bank again in Nigeria?FCMB |
plaetton: Which god does your so called intelligent black people believe in?Easy boy. YOLO! The depth of your bitterness is really heartbreaking. People believe in God and are so happy. You are an atheist but this unimaginably bitter. The belief in God will never end so long as there is life. Learn to live with it and save yourself an early grave Haba! YOLO; be happy. |
plaetton: Useless Africans. A president going on a pilgrimage to another country just to shore up the stone age myths of another nation. Why are you so bitter? People choose to believe whatever they want and you are here dying for nothing. Most of the black people who believe in God or Jesus are more intelligent than you but still made their choice. Haba? Live and let live! |
27th reporting. Happy birthday to mafiachic, beninwa and I! |
I stand to be counted. The Senate goofed big time on this one |
Madiba, you will live forever. Happy Birthday! |
Thanks bro, I really appreciate. We did the calculation and we arrived at the fact that in the absence of shared accommodation, it will be cheaper and better to stay in the school apartment. We checked the website you provided but Grahamstown is not listed there. At 120 for food a day, in 360 days, he will spend 43200 Rands and at 100 daily on food alone, he will spend 36000 Rands. Then he will spend on taxi, electricity, water and other utilities. The school charges (56300 per annum) covers all of that of course minus the taxi but the hostel is located within the campus. There is also internet in the hostel. The accommodation officer also warned of dire consequences if you opt out of the school accommodation half way. Well, we are still looking at the options available. Once more, thank you very much henrychubayo: To be truthful to you, i have not been i that town before. i have been to many places but not this one. But on a general point of view concerning accommodation in south Africa especially the Gauteng district where Johannesburg, santon, Roodepoort and other cities are located, the accommodations are very costly. its always difficult for new comers and students. What we do here is shared accomodation which in a flat, you could find more than 5 people living and paying for it. it makes life easy like that instead of paying a whole flat rate alone. Please go to olx.co.za and look for shared accomodation and cheap one for that matter. Let me now break it a bit down. |
Henry I see you are doing a very great job here. Please a friend of mine is applying for a master at Rhodes University but is seeking accommodation outside the school. The problem is that the school's boarding with food is 56300 Rands and the contact in the school (a staff) is not helpful with regards to options outside the school. Please do you have an idea of how much a miniflat or self-contained apartment costs in Grahamstown where the school is located? Any other information about cost of living there will be highly appreciated. Thanks |
Maclatunji you have no SHAME! Playing the fool for what? maclatunji: And your specific complaint is? |
I find it hard to trust Sahara Reporters stories |
Sahara Reporters and their friends should bury their heads in shame; it seems they are on revenge mission for reasons best known to them when they report political leaders. If they want to make a case, they should focus their energies on amount spent on such foreign medical trips and not begin to peddle wicked rumours on the person of the governor. Such acts are capable of disturbing the peace in taraba looking at the dynamics of that state. Get well soon danbaba |
musiwa24: is that so.. You be mumu.. so are all of the governor.. Jonathn and amachie are friends. they were playing games with the head of governors.. who were not smart enough to notice, that Jonathan and amchies went are schoolmate. so they were playing games with youToday I am actually looking at the message not the messenger; Musiwa your submission makes a lot of sense minus the insult |
londoner: [/b]Common dear, are you for real? You mean Nigeria's problem is no more bad leadership/followership but population? Maybe you also need to google how many hundreds of millions the Chinese government has lifted out of poverty in the last decade. Na wa o! |
tunesoft: Tell dem...Just today, I for the 4th tie hadto change the referreal general hospital for a patient who can't seem to get dialysis done in general hospitals....all because of no bed space...even lasuth turnd the patients twice with flimsy excuse...nd this one dey offer free sessions to one celeb when general hospitals Cants cater for the common man..shioExactly what I'm saying |
londoner: In "other climes|, people pay tax to provide a fully functioning health service....that's why.I agree with you but in other climes, people who manage taxpayers funds don't steal hundreds of millions in dollars. Tell you leaders to be accountable and you will see nigerians pay tax. Besides, you need to google the tax system of saudi arabia to see what oil money alone without tax has achieved. |
Wuked.P:He is very wrong. Not everyone has the friends and exposure ojb has. Tell your leaders to fix the hospitals and not turn sickness into an undignifying experience for people. |
In other climes, dozens of well equipped medical personnel are deployed to save cats or dogs that fall into holes. Helicopters may even be used. In nigeria, the other time it was ngozi that was taken to England. Today it is ojb but between then and now thousands of nameless nigerians have died of same ailments. Fix the hospitals and stop shining with celebrities. |
The sins of our leaders in the North will never go unpunished. Even with all these policies to catch up with the South, these same leaders will use back channels to sell the idea to their people that "boko is haram" just so they can contniue to use them to commit dastardly acts just in the name of holding on to power. |
What is the confusion there? I bet you that no state in this country will have less than 10 contestants for the 2015 elections at the initial stages. Question people should be asking is how many are jokers, how many are serious and how many have a chance. dont make it an anambra issu |
J12: So she deserves 17 million pounds because she lived with him for twenty years? Would she make that amount of money if they weren't married?Well, I really don't know how much he is worth but going by your estimates (£400-600 million) and having started with £13,000, again, depending on how much he had when they met, I think she contributed in other ways as he (they) moved up financially. Again, depending on the specifics (unless she cheated) of this case, I think £17 million out of 600 is not too much for 20 years and the kids she gave him. Talking about making that amount on her own, you never know what strings she pulled for him (them) to get the £400-600 million. (Just saying) |
JohnnyPalmer: The battle has bin ova a year naw, d fact is most divorce settlements always favour d woman, btw, why would he marry an oyinbo woman, dey are only afta d cash, if na naija gal naw, she go walk away for free, infact na she go dey beg you.Did you ask about her contribution to his wealth? 1993-2003 =20 years How would you feel if you spend all your productive life with someone and at 50 you are kicked to the kerb? By the way, even in Nigeria depending on the specifics of a divorce case, if the husband has plenty, let the wife take an equitable share. |
This here, is a politician who knows his onions; when the time comes (if truly the governor is brain dead) watch as christians in the state would say 'let him take over, he was a loyal subordinate' You need to be in Jalingo to understand the religious dynamics |
What about telling parents to embrace family planning? |
tbaba1234: This is a very simplistic statement, kindly explain the conclusion and tell me how many committing crime in your area have been exposed by you. Why and Why not? I am tempted to conclude that you might be shielding criminals.Thank you; I lived in Maiduguri for years until recently. I speak a little kanuri and understand the language. You see, I know what I am saying. People (not all though but a majority) there shield BH and believe GEJ deserves what he gets from them. Until you walk the streets of Maiduguri and mingle with the people there, please don't compare the level of acceptance of BH in maiduguri to that of criminals elsewhere. You also need to refer to revelations by COAS on moles in the military. They are all related. |
