tintingz: If you're not a Christian, the question is not meant for you.
Did Jesus Christ preach/teach people to be skeptical? If yes, where in the Bible?
I'm directing the question to Kingebukasblog who said being skeptical is part of christainity.
Then my next question will be, why are we having Christian deists, Christian agnostic and even atheists, what brought out these philosophical ideology today? Okay, I get your point |

tintingz: So do you think being skeptic about your faith/religion is healthy as a Christian? What the Bleep is wrong with questioning beliefs? If I say the world is spherical and I start questioning it. Will questioning it turn me to a flat rather. If the Bible is as true as the earth revolving around the sun, why should questioning it be a threat |

Originakalokalo: .4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Luke 16:23 And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Hell is real.

No one argues with atheists and still remains the same, the arguments will force you to rethink what you know.

dalaman: If you go to Israel and engage them you'll be shocked. Some of them don't even believe Jesus existed. They believe the Jesus stories were just fabricated stories made up by the ancient gentiles of the Roman empire. All of them believe Jesus was an impostor. Bottom line is that they are anti christians and I really do NOT know why Nigerian christians support them. They hate christians are they HATE black people. The above is very very true. They even have a Talmud calling Jesus a bastardy and Mary a prostitute |

dalaman: Going to Israel is what sealed my faith and made me a full blown athiest like 4 years ago. I was astonished when I realized that the people weren't christians, they were anti christians. They hate christianity and christians (i.e the practicing Jews). Some of the people were interested in knowing why we left Africa to come and look for evidence of a Jesus that never was, that's the impression I got from those that I interacted with. They felt we should be Jews instead of christians because they had more evidence of their Jewish figures/ history than that of Jesus/ christianity to show us. This was exactly what they told my uncle. They were even making fun of Christians. Telling my uncle that Christians were just wasting their time worshipping a mere man |

KingEbukasBlog: Please read this article and understand the report and stop arguing abeg
http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Gallup-Israel-one-of-least-religious-countries-398823
They made a survey and the data were drawn from people who responded to it . Are you saying that 8.5 million of Israeli-Jews responded to it ? Please tell me you are indeed joking .
Excerpts from the article .
Prof. Yedidia Stern, the vice president of research at IDI.
Aside from those who are self-identified as either religious or secular,
“the rest are traditional but not necessarily religious by self declaration,” he explained.
“Eighty percent believe in God.
Are they secular or religious? If we are speaking about [halachic observance], then many are not.
But if you ask if they believe God [is] relevant to Israeli life and they believe in it, then Israelis are a very religious kind of country,” he said.
According to Uri Regev, a Reform rabbi and head of the religious pluralism NGO Hiddush, Israel’s “religious politics and established, coercive, rabbinate are the main forces responsible for undermining Israelis’ Jewish identity.”
Those who replied that they are not religious were “mostly expressing their dissociation from those who claim to represent the only authentic and binding Judaism, and from their interpretation of Judaism,” he said.
Asked about the WIN/Gallup International poll, Dan Ben-David, president of the Shoresh Institution and an economist at Tel Aviv University, agreed, stating that it appeared to present “a binary distinction [i.e., yes or not religious] rather than one of degree – so maybe most people abroad believe in God, and thus consider themselves religious.”
“Here, on the other hand, the religious ‘categories’ are already taken by the entire spectrum from traditional to ultra-Orthodox, so even if you believe in God but do not count yourself in one of the officially religious categories, then your tendency in Israel may be to say that you are not religious.”
Here are explanations of what it means to be non-religious in Israel by Rabbis and professors . You didnt read the article and you are jumping up and down with excitement ; Loool Even my uncle that has been to Israel affirmed that those people no get time for bibeli |

Daviddson: I reject it for him in Jesus' name. Amen.
But on a serious note, Kingebukasblog, too much sophistication and learning (in order to match atheists) is trying to knock you off somehow. Check Luke 22:32 And this is one big problem with Christianity. Why is questioning ones beliefs such a big deal |

dalaman: Many christians that don't engage with atheist in dabbles do not agree with the view that hell is a place of eternal firery torture. Many fund that barbari c and refuse to accept it.
Most European christians do not believe or accept that hell is a fiery place of eternal torture.
As your morality evolve you'll change your view on hell. Anybody that believes that people deserve to burn in hell eternally for unbelief is a scum and worse that a terrorist.
What offence will you disobedient child commit to you that will make you burn him forever? Tell me. Heck, even Jew's don't even believe in hell. They see it as nonsensical |

Daviddson: @KingEbukasBlog Sorry to say, but you're beginning to sound like an atheist, deist, etc. Those prolonged arguments with atheists on Nairaland seem to be taking some subtle toll and influence on you bro.
How can you say you don't take Bible literally? So Jesus Christ who spoke about hell describing it vividly made a mistake? And you also said the Creation account in the Bible is not as it is. These kind of views are mostly expressed by deists and their ilks. This is what I warned you guys about in one of my threads last year but you said you're arguing for fun. johnydon22: If you ask me: i'd say that biblically, God is everything that man is not yet everything that man is.
Man is a weak creature, vulnerable and tiny - But God is an all powerful entity Man knows so little - God knows everything Man is limited - God sees all Man is fallen - God is mighty
God is a projection of all our shortcoming, this is just an attempt to imagine a perfect being, the pinnacle of all that is to exist. But i'd say that perfection always remains elusive.
But then again, even though God is everything man is not, in their unflinching pious enthusiasm, God then became everything that man is:
Man is needy - God is too Man gets jealous - Gee who is more jealous than God? Man hates and picks sides - same with God Man is petty - God is man is insecure, emotionally unbalanced - God is Man is egoistic - God is the chairman in that department Man is subject to vanity and pride - God also man gets angry - God also does. Literally every emotion, behavior that you can imagine man is capable of, God is guilty of all in the bible.
Man has a close affinity and regard to gold, precious stones and gems - God literally lives in a mansion made of gold with precious stones as a foundation.
I think this paints a very clear picture.
Man and God once met each other and both shouted "My creator!" Looooool @ bolded |

frosbel2: Because ;
1. The Pastor will call the shots in your home and not the wife or husband 2. Your children will be brainwashed from an early age which destroys their God-given creativity and individuality 3. Superstition and paranoia will reign in your home. No personal accountability or hard work to solve problems, everything is caused by a witch or wizard or someone back home 4. The moment one of you leave the church, there will be no peace in that home or the marriage may collapse 5. Religion will be a chore and burden because you are trying to please your spouse and not God while your spouse is trying to please almighty Pastor 6. You will become a hypocrite because your religion will not be from the heart 7. Your finances may suffer because your spouse will direct substantial amounts of money to the church 8. At the end, you may regret that you wasted this one life on pleasing a religious cult 9. Even at death, there is no rest as the religious organization of your spouse's pastor will want to control the funeral rites especially where money is involved. 10. Your whole life will come under the scrutiny of the religious organization and your most deep secrets will be known to the church 11. Your children will eventually pick up the hypocrisy and either leave church or become atheists 12. If you are a husband, the pastor may chase your wife or even sleep with her if she is pretty the almighty Frosbel. the thorn to the flesh of xtians |
