EducationRe: My Testimony: As A Graduate Of Anambra State University by Urine: 9:05pm On Mar 21, 2016
rosalieene:
I am writing this to encourage students and Jambites so they'd realize that they can get to whatever point they want to attain in their academic pursuit. Forgive my grammatical blunders, am not perfect.Focus on my point and not on my writing.

I didn't attend my convocation last friday due to
some personal reasons but all the same na Godwin. But seeing the convocation pictures of others, I decided to post this. I wasn't there physically but was there spiritually. At least my name was in d book of life lol.

HOW THE JOURNEY STARTED;

I wrote my first UTME in 2010, even if I forgot anything other thing I learnt in English language,
I would never forget that the exam is called UTME and not JAMB as people always call it.

JAMB is the body /organization organizing UTME
thanks to my English teachers in secondary school Mr Ikuyajolu Daniel and Mr Samuel Ezebuiro. I applied for medicine in University of Ibadan and it was my dream school. I wasn't even shortlisted to write post-utme. That school is very mean and heartless, lol.
The second time I wrote UTME, that was in 2011,
I also applied in Unibadan. This time around, Industrial chemistry because I later realized that
Med &Surgery wasn't my calling. Again, I wasn't
shortlisted, haba!!. By this time, my twin sister was already in her 100l and about to enter 200l in Unibadan.

One day, my dad saw an advert in Vanguard newspaper in which ANSU called for no-choice candidates to apply. I applied, wrote post-utme.
The list came out but my name was not there. Really, I was frustrated. I also applied in a private university who's advert I also saw. Godfrey okoye university and was given admission!! But in my mind, I was like that one no be school jhoor!!.

I had no other option but to go to GOU. I spent 2 months there when someone called me and told me I got admission in ANSU.I was dumbfounded!,
couldn't believe it. I heard so many stories about the course(Industrial chemistry). Its a no-go- area, very tough and difficult, why didn't you choose biochemistry instead people kept asking. I left GOU for ANSU, people kept on talking.....Industrial Chemistry is hard, the lecturers are very wicked in ANSU , they don't like it when their students pass. , they haven't recorded a single 1st class and 2.1 is always very few since the history of the dept in the
school(not until 2013 set produced the first 1st
class ever),2.1 is like 1st class in ICH dept, I kept on
hearing such. I had a roommate then in my yr1
who was in final year in Industrial chem.

Everyday she came back from class and exams
complaining, regretting why she was in the dept.
I hope she is not seeing this post, lol. She would
complain and complain, I was so scared. I thought of changing course, but to where? I asked myself. I lost hope. I told my parents since they wanted the best but they said 'don't listen to what people say, hardwork is the key''.

The struggle began, thanks to my friend and
reading partner Anasioke Onyinye and also to my parents for the encouragement. I was able to graduate with a comfortable 2.1 in Industrial Chemistry. I was the fifth best graduating and am proud of it. Thanks to all those who called and texted to congratulate me after seeing my name in the convocation brochure. Finally, God is the secret. Truly, those who put their trust in God shall be like mount
Zion. Most Importantly, I was able to overcome
the pressure of Examination Malpractice because
I believed in God's power. God doesnt fail. Just Obey him by not indulging in examination malpractice, and pray and believe, have faith. Also, read your book, dont depend on small micro chips(mgbo). You can't cheat God. You may use expo and at the end last, you may graduate with a result you least expect, you can't cheat God.

Singing *you are
great* in Steve crown's voice. # faithfulGod
# gloriousGod
Congrats to me and other graduands especially
my fellow kemists!!.
NNAWUIHE ROSELYNE
Well done ROSELYNE, I'm always happy when I see young people excel. Now, this great achievement is now past tense, you need to start thinking of the next step, Masters degree?(There are lots of scholarship offers) Job? Make a decision and start planning, once again, well done.

doctokwus:
U people are so pathetic and always deceive the pdp leading to its doom.
PDP at d national level,if its a serious party and has insightful thinkers, not touts like Wike and Fayose, shud feel concerned.
Why so? In 2015 elections in Rivers, pdp manufactured for itself and inec officially produced a result showing pdp wt 95% of d vote, winning all seats.Apc had just 5% wt no seat.Turnout was said to be 70%(1.4million)
Less than a year later, apc has at least a seat, from 9 and got average 30% of votes cast!To make matters worse for pdp, turnout wud just be about 300,000(15%) in total!!
Similar inroads has been made in Akwa Ibom.
If things remain like this,it means Kano alone wt its ever constant vote and turnout for Buhari will neutralize whatever slight margin Rivers and Akwa ibom wud produce, assuming elections are even held today, talkless of by 2019 when further inroads may have been made.
Of course sycophants and myopic party members in PDP wud rather gloat, than see d gradual eroding of so called PDP power bases.
Sometimes, its embarassing engaging some online sycophants of PDP in debates,d deficiences in analysis are all too glaring.
In advanced democracies PDP wud be very worried by now,but of course in these climes with people who are into politics just to feed and loot, rivers should be a cause to make merry!
As a person that works with data almost every day, I love the way you buttressed your points using data. Unfortunately, you've given this lovely insight in the midst of folks with an average IQ that won't make on-net calls if converted into money.

omo men, it seems APC just woke up the beast in PDP. They were super complacent in their game in the 2015 general elections and they felt that it was almost impossible to be ousted from power at the center. But with APC's sweeping win, they just entered beast mode. I woulf not be surprised that they win 2019 general elections because they took their rigging game a whole new level.....
Oga, calm down a bit. You don't seem to understand how Presidential elections work, please note that Rivers State is a PDP stronghold. Now for PDP to win the next election, they need to take back the entire South West and a sizeable chunk of the North Central. On paper that looks like a tough task at the moment but tables turn and it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years.

Specialbaby:
Majority of those who will dispute this well articulated thread are broke guys who don't want to get their hands dirty!

Why date or marry when you are not financially stable only to belive in better days ahead??it just crazy!!
I disagree with everything she said and I'm far from broke, I know what it's like to be poor and I'm also fortunate enough to know what it feels like to have a good source of income. The change from being broke to rich happens in less than 10 seconds. As long as you're not lazy the Sky is your limit, the difference between great people and ordinary people is their ability to spot potential in other people.

dupsil:
Am not much of a people person, i love to be on my own, i would not describe myself as a quiet person, more like someone with mood swings and most times i just want to be alone. i av just 2 close friends that i talk to about everything and they've bin quiet helpful in the ways they can, I am not close to my family members at all due to the way in which i was brought up so we don't speak much on personal issues or things am going through.
Just got out of a very bad breakup that shook me up so bad and have not been able to move past it, am in my finals in the university, just finished my first semester exams and it was so hard for me to focus and read for the exams but i was able to scale through the exam period. we are on semester break now and i have lot of assignment and project to focus on but its so hard for me to do anything meaningful this days. i just lie in alone all day doing nothing, i feel so weak, alone and depressed. i feel lost, scared, worried. Things aren't working the way i had imagined and hoped for, am 22 years old, i don't av a special talent, no skill am interested in and then this education itook serious so i could confidently say am good in something doesn't seems to be working out because am going to graduate with a 2nd class lower. i feel like i don't fit in anywhere, at my age i should have plans, goals and target for the future but i don't and i don't know how to go about it. Pls i need mature advise on what to do.
Hey! Don't be too harsh on yourself. We've all been there! If you don't have any special skill, the next thing to do is to learn, every human being that has a skill today wasn't born with it. What do you love doing? What are the things you love to do and you can gladly do for free?

Did u even read the write up @ all?
Or you rushed to comment just because u love ur comment appearing first?
You said that there is a difference in tinubu's case because it was cooked up by PDP. Whether sarakis case is real or cooked up,dont you think he has to be invited first to clear things up befort the CCT starts trying him?
Of What relevance does Tinubu and that late old monkey look-alike Adesanya Nadeco days contribute to this discourse?

Rubbish

If Saraki is guilty,he should be jailed but due process must be followed and he must be afforded fair hearing.
Last time I checked, The Supreme Court gave this trial a go ahead. Now what on earth is this due process you're talking about?

Nice. It seems the Indians haven't over-saturated the market like it's out here. I think with how everything has gone super-WWW these days and with apps, if I were into software development, I won't even work for anyone. I'd just set up a tech company with a few friends in the field and start grafting.

Nigeria is still a virgin market and a lot of things should be able to bamboozle folks into paying a lot of money. My friend and I were discussing about an app with some chic who's one of this rich naij men's kids last year and she had a proposal to build an app for some folks. Brev, you need to see the ridiculous money she was trying to charge them for a simple app you can easily build with a freeware.

Great to see someone on here who isn't all about python cos it seems everyone is a python junkie on this forum.
Lmao @ ridiculous money, I witnessed something similar last week, a guy with a few contacts in Abuja won a contract to develop a particular app for an agency of government working with an NGO on a project. This lad got gooood money for 'developing' an app that was already open source. It's a very crazy industry at the moment, one 'hit' is what you really need to move on. After that, everything becomes easier.

VueJS is lovely and minimal, Angular 2 am a bit worried about it, because it's going to be my companie's defacto FW, my fear is there are multiple ways to write Angular2 which is a great concern, some of my mates want JS , I want TS so imagine having the same Angular 2 but different approach, that's bad for convergence.
Interesting problem, I'm curious to know how this will be solved.

Lmao @ arts. That's just a side show and something I tend to talk about cos it's part of everyday life. And it defines relations with other people, as a tool for generic conversations.

Is Software Development lucrative in naij? And what programming languages are you comfortable with?

That said, software development is fun, especially the requirement and design/UML phases cos you can always transfer both to everyday life and, also use the expertise for project management. The connection between computing and learning how to plan adequately, before execution.
Well that side show is impressive. Software Development is quite lucrative but like everything in naija, it depends on the team you're rolling with. If you have a few contacts here and there, it's fair to say you will good at the end of the day.

I'm a PHP developer (Laravel) 'garnished' with a AngularJs on the front cos these days being a "full stack developer" seems to be the thing. Planning, on paper looks like the simplest process but it's not always easy, but the process shapes up when you adopt agile methods.

So you're a computing junkie, no? I'm also an IT junkie, though I seldom discuss it on here, ditto sports and business.

What aspect of computing are you into?
Really? You always write like a man that's deep in the arts. Software Development!

Lmao.

About "God" and "Future"...Russell Wilson who screams "God" and "Jesus" everywhere just got engaged to Future's baby mama, Ciara. And I'm sure Ciara has been around the block like a hood moped, and she has a baby for a guy who's a weed head. But God didn't stop his son, Russell Wilson, from wifeying up Future's leftover.

So be careful when use "God" and "Future" in the same sentence cos you might end up with a next man's leftover like Russell Wilson.

Regardless, we're all God's children and choice/preference has nothing to do with God. Ya pastor lied to you.
ROFLMFAO! Your last sentence makes a lot of sense.

jailing her will do nothing for the dead, let by gones be by gones. it was an unfortunate accident, they shouldnt be harsh in jailing her. living with a conscience that she unintentionally killed someone and having the memory every single day is far worse than any jail sentence. let the woman be pardoned.
I can't believe what I just read.
CelebritiesRe: Please Pray For My Mum- Ibinabo Fiberesima's Son Writes Open Letter To Nigerians by Urine: 10:59pm On Mar 12, 2016
This young man is confused, your mum wasn't drunk and she wasn't driving recklessly, so how did she cause that accident? Manslaughter (if I'm right) has a punishment, it shouldn't be padded cos one is a celebrity, if she's sure of her innocence, she should move to the Supreme Court, it's that straightforward. All this public sympathy for folks in the upper class is becoming annoying tbh, same thing they've started for the LG guy.

The real victims here is the family of that Doctor that was killed any attempt to disrupt this is just pure self centeredness and insensitivity.

Please I'm really sorry this post is going to be a bit long.

I went to a supermarket today to get stuff. I bought stuff worth #1040 and paid using POS. My phone was off as at the time of payment.

When I got home and charged my phone, I immediately saw alerts..
One showing a debit alert of #20,000 and another showing a debit alert of #1,040. Both transactions were done using POS..
I was shocked because I never bought anything worth #20,000...
And the #20,000 credit alert showed that the POS was used in Ikeja, Lagos...but the supermarket I bought things at is in Ibadan.

My question now is, can I get my #20,000 back or have I been permanently scammed?embarassed
Or has this ever happened to anybody??
The person that attended to you in that Supermarket must have used a card skimmer. Which exact supermarket in Ibadan did this happen?
