Hello everyone,

I'm a professional freelance graphic artist with over 8years work experience. Please believe me when I say I'm a professional. I'm highly creative and clients always comends my job.

The issue is, I stopped at secondary school level, I wanted to further my education to the university level but my elder brother who was my sponsor then died in ghastly motor accident. I was devastated and I couldn't further my education so I settled for what I love most which is graphic. Fortunately for me I met a white guy in 2002 from Spain who thought me graphic. I struggled to pay this guy, I had to work in a hotel as dry cleaner (washing bedsheet with sperm) but God saw me through.

I worked as freelancer since 2011. I made a huge mistake in dec 2014 (used the same date for November and December calender) for a reputable company in Lagos. They wouldn't listen to my plead so I sold my landed property, my car and home appliances to reprint the whole 16,000 copies.

Now, I want to work as in-house graphic artist but they price me down due to my educational background, they don't even talk about my experience, imagine a company offered 80k. Meanwhile I have a friend whose experience isn't as wide as mine collecting 250k monthly. The issue is I can forge original certificate I'm very good at manipulation. But my conscience won't allow me.

What do you think I should do in this situation?

Manage the 80k for now and register for GCE. From there you can take it one step after the other.

I'm not saying people are not criticizing from a political angle, in fact that's my point, partisanship and patriotism are two different things and it's also a disservice to the Patriots that have paid the ultimate price. As for representing the Good people in Bayelsa, don't you think it will be nicer if half of this energy is put into fighting Oil companies to clear up the spillage that has destroyed the land? Ben Bruce is one of the elites that has been around the corridors of power since 99, he can't wake up now to say he's interested in defending the masses, was he in coma before?

True redemption of this country does not lie in the hand of any politician, APC/PDP, it lies in the hands of true Patriots, people that are ready to pay the Ultimate Price if it's necessary.

I feel it's time wastage. I will prefer the Hr ends all recruitment processes at their end....As much as organisations believe in Team work, I find it uncomfortable.

You have to look at the bigger picture, this task was a test by the Senior Partner, when responsibilities are delegated it's a way of testing you, if you have dreams of making a partner, it's not something you can avoid. You finding team work uncomfortable is another problem you need to work on, no matter how smart you think you are, you can never be perfect, when you're in team, it's their job to cover up that weakness up for you.

Yorubas have a saying "owo kan o to gbe eru lori" meaning one hand can't be used to place a load on the head. Teamwork will always win!

Yes I didn't know what to ask them because they only called me few hours ago. I did what I did because I just wanted to see how they think under pressure. About me failing don't judge yet until the trainee I confirmed under performs. I hope she doesn't....

Calm down mate, I'm not a recruiter myself, I'm a Software Developer, that's what I was trained to do but one of the responsibilities of functioning at this level is that I must be involved in the recruitment of Junior Devs, same task your Senior Partner gave you. I received a call from the Hr unit that they are sending 5 Trainees to me for confirmation. I was surprised because they didn't give me a prior notice. When I Queried the lady from the Hr unit she said the Senior Partner (HOD) contacted them that he will travelling to the UK that I can go ahead with the confirmation.

I was a bit nervous because I find it difficult relating with people, what do I ask them? Moreover I have too much on my hands already. I told Hr to give me an hour so that I can coordinate myself ....The truth is if you confirm a trainee and He/she under performs, it tells badly on your record. Here I am always striving to maintain a spotless record now this challenge doesn't look good.

Exactly an hour later Hr unit called again that they are on their way, I told her to take them to the conference room.....30mins later I joined them Lo and Behold I saw 5 well dressed gentlemen and ladies 3 guys and 2 ladies. I stared at them and they were looking back at me (which kind witch be this I said to myself) They thought I was testing them truth is I don't even know what to say or ask....."tell me your names I started".....after all the blah blah.....i went through their cv's it was good. 3 had first class. it was B.A trainee, I looked at their aptitude test performances read their essays great; yet I didn't know what further qstns to ask. So I wrote down a simple arithmetic on the board and I gave them 90s to solve. Only one got it right within the time frame (A lady!!!!; she bagged First class from Reading University UK). I thanked them for their interest in joining us. I sent my remarks to Hr and they were shocked. Hr Manager had to call me explaining that they have spent so such on the recruitment exercise and approving just one means they have to continue the exercise. I simply told him Mr ***a** you can confirm the rest.

This was the simple problem I wrote on the board.

Marxxx! You act and type like a top lad, unfortunately you're not one. I went through this entire thread with the lads on my team and we can't stop laughing. I love your honesty though, it made it easy to identify your weakness (the emboldened parts).
I have been recruiting very smart Software Devs for a while now, trust me, two junior devs on my team will carry this task out under 15 minutes. Wish you all the best but on this task you failed woefully, admitting that will only make you a better person.

HI, I don't think you're being fair here, this project is not abandoned, as we speak there's heavy construction work going on in Ijoko, it will get to Agbado soon, I know it can be a bit frustrating cos I go to Ijoko quite often and I know the drill but don't say the project has been abandoned.
