I withdrew $100 with my us bank mastercard and got N186 per $ equivalent on skybank ATM and I was furious..so I decided to use my skybank ATM to make a payment via paypal to confirm if they sell at the same rate..guess what the bank sold to me @N290 per dollar the same day.
That's exploitation. The difference btw buy and sell should not exceed N10. Now this is the issue! |

obailala: Who dey deplete our reserves?... it is you and I who prefer to buy 'made in UK' handkerchief with $5 instead of the one made in Aba for N50.
The nation is presently suffering from what is termed a 'negative balance of trade'. Before now, let's assume the total amount of forex leaving Nigeria per month was $10billion (this amount includes money spent importing fuel, food, clothes, foreign school and medical fees, you $5 handkerchief etc), this forex outflow of $10bn is balanced by a forex inflow of $10bn or more mainly from oil sales. Today the proceeds from oil sales has fallen by 70%, but our taste for foreign goods has obviously not changed. So today we are getting inflow of only $3bn but still spending $10bn. This is the negative balance of trade which is reducing the reserves.
To manage this crisis and prevent reserves from reaching zero, cbn has totally stopped releasing forex to banks and BDCs which help people like yourself who want to buy a mere handkerchief; except you can prove that you want to purchase an essential commodity like import fuel or rice etc, the cbn will not release its scarce forex to you. So the forex which your bank sold to you for N350 was not gotten from cbn, it was from the blackmarket. The blackmarket guys get their forex from diverse sources (including raw cash from people who return from diaspora). The scarcity of forex in the open market is the reason why it sells for up to N350 or N400.

What can some1 do with a 60k/month salary these days? I don't agree with you, got into banking 06/07 and my starting salary was double of the figure you gave, most of my mates at Oceanic and Stanbic were even earning more than me. Salaries dropped immediately Sanusi started his tsunami. |

Besides, the shape of a woman's breast determines how firm it will be. Pawpaw and mango shaped breasts will fall quickly, unlike orange shaped bosoms which remain perky for a long time. I know someone whose breasts were still firm after 6 kids because of the shape of her bosoms (orange)

Actually, it's my field too that's why I think it's solid information, if these suspects were mentioned and no insider was involved then I will be worried but according to the DSS, the Chief Program Analyst in the office of the Auditor General is involved. Names were also mentioned, and this hack wasn't 100% remote, so there's a good chance this story is true. |

ZUBY77: That's why we should be worried about the kind of lies this incompetent rogues feed us. Is the TSA guarded by DSS? efilefun: The main issue here are the lazy media dudes who turn everything into news/ come up with some silly story just to sell their papers "The gang was led by one Sunny OKOH, a hacker who worked in collaboration with the trio of Uwem Udo EKPO, a Chief Program Analyst in the OAGF, Maxwell EKENE, a retired security operative and Dozie EGWU, based in Malaysia and who is now at large. The suspected fraudsters intended to use a software they had sourced and codes released to them by EKPO to hack Government accounts in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and defraud the Government of this huge sum." Anyway, he did not refer to any Section of the Constitution or other law or any Judicial precedent where such a thing has ever happened. It is astonishing what partisanship can do to an otherwise brilliant Lawyer. Or maybe it is arrogance which leads him to think he can just open his mouth, say whatever catches his fancy and bamboozle the public.
