Doctors is one thing.
Medical service is another thing.
In EU countries, their government pays the doctors and all the health bills. The money comes from the tax the people pay. So you can sick anyhow you like, go to hospital and be treated properly by a happy and well paid doctor.

In US it is different. You have to pay separte medical insurance, otherwise no ambulance and no treatment for you.
All this was revealed during the 2020 covid time.
Nigeria seems to be following the US trend slightly.
We may not have wide spread medical insurance, but ours is sha pay as you go. No pay, no go.

Our doctors will now japa to US and Europe where their salary and equipment is guaranteed.
In Europe, the patients bills are covered totally. In US, the patients bills are partly covered.
But the doctor is fully paid in both cases.

Lagos is the ONLY state that has mastered property tax collections. Oyo State does not even collect close to 5%. I just paid the one in Lagos for my Dad...over N150k for 3-4 years paid. Now imagine paying that all over Lagos, and some properties are worth Billions. The other states need to start Property Taxes. Even if its N5k for Bungalow and N10k for duplex and storey buildings, you can raise a lot of money from that. I have a template, and I would gladly share it with any state govt. You can raise more than what you collect in Abuja, and you can also provide loads of employment for the Youths in the process.

I guess, Lagos just had the highest number of colonial masters and colonial settlements, resulting in the highest number of administrative offices and processes, leading to it being the capital of Nigeria in the past.
Structures were already in place, set by the British to make things happen in Lagos, unlike the other states in Nigeria. We of today are just carrying over those processes already laid down.
