http://www.deltastate.com.ng/news-room/newsandevents/1177-world-leaders-set-to-grace-ssouth-economic-summit-in-asaba--ogeah.html Delta is going higher under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.I expected them to criticize constructively so that we can draw the attention of the governor to it but it is obvious that they are DPP members who are more interested in his office than the development they use as smoke screen. They can wait for 2015 to try their luck. |
Let us be logical in our reasoning. It is unfair to castigate a performing governor in this manner without any element of fact in your accusation. You have not seen the BOQ of the project, you don't know the extent of the project, the journalist is not an engineer to understand the scope of the project. The leveling is an aspect of the job and it may not be completed within 10 days but a substantial part may have been completed especially those within the direction of flight of Mr President and top dignitaries. The project is a combination of so many aspect of the airport put together including expansion. There is no way one can observe the elevation through the photograph except you are there physically. I asked you to identify what Uduaghan is suppose to do in Warri that he has not done, none of you has been able to point out those things but you keep ranting and insulting me illogically. For the guy who talked about Sapele,Sapele is our head quarter, I know Sapele better than you. Have you been to Abigborodo- Ugbekoko road project site? Is the Sapele main market not almost completed?, Is the newly installed street light not working? Is the Sapele stadium project not ongoing? Have you been to new ogorode road recently? have you seen all the newly completed roads in Ogun aja? The above shows that you are a visitor to Sapele. What has the war between Vikings and got to do with Uduaghan? is he the cause of the war? He has provided security for the town, what else do you want him to do? We are not complaining, don't cry more than the bereaved |

AIDING AND ABETTING: Anti-kidnap task force boss, others arrested On April 5, 2012 · In Headlines 12:31 am Tweet By Emma Amaize & Akpokona Omafuaire WARRI — THE Officer-in-Charge, OC, Anti-Kidnapping Task Force in Delta State, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, (names withheld) and six members of the squad, have been disarmed, arrested and flown to Abuja on the orders of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, for allegedly aiding and abetting kidnappers in the state. Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan confirmed the arrest of the Head of the Anti-Kidnapping Task Force and 98 persons, while briefing journalists at the end of State Security Council meeting in Government House Annex, Warri, yesterday to review the security situation in the state. The task force has also been disbanded, while pastors are among the over 98 persons nabbed for kidnapping in the state by the Police, State Security Service, and the Army in the state. The Police and SSS have 40 apiece in their custody, while the Army has 18 suspects. Governor Uduaghan in his address revealed the modus operandi of kidnappers in the state; the trend in the last few years, how his administration was battling them, collusion of security agents and the highly-placed persons as well as the challenges the state was facing. He said: “The Head of Anti-Kidnapping and his boys have been arrested by Force Criminal Investigation Department, CID, for the past four days for interrogation. We are also aware of community involvement and we have discussed with some community leaders too”. Last week, Vanguard learnt of the arrest of the head of the anti-kidnapping task force, but a police officer, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity, said the man was not arrested, adding, “the task force was only disbanded on the instruction of the Inspector General of Police”. Information at the disposal of Vanguard, however, was that one of the suspected kidnappers, who is in the custody of the police in Abuja, squealed on the activities of the OC, which police authorities likened to the style of executed DSP George Iyamu, who was providing cover and ammunition for notorious robbers, late Lawrence Anini, Monday Osunbor and their gang. Our source said the Inspector General of Police was startled when he received intelligence report that the suspect confessed that the head of the anti-kidnapping task force was providing kidnappers with information on the movement of some highly placed persons in the state and releasing his vehicle for them to carry out operations. The OC, who is the main suspect in the on-going investigation by FCID ordered by the acting IG, was said to be collecting huge money from kidnappers and also giving them information on the houses and bank statements of the wealthy people that he came in contact with, as well as his rich friends. He usually revealed to kidnappers details of security manhunt for them to evade arrest and sympathizes with his friends after sending kidnappers to abduct them and pay ransoms. It was also gathered that when families of kidnap victims reported cases to the police, instead of helping them, strategic information was passed to kidnappers on what to do to squeeze more money out of the victim, relations and companies, as the case may be. Officer-in-charge and his boys whisked to Abuja A police officer, who confided in this reporter, last weekend, said that the OC and his men were actually picked up and whisked to Abuja. “The boys were picked to find out what they knew about the scandal, but the person that the suspect confessed about in Abuja was the OC”. According to the source: “Last Thursday, a team of detectives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja, came to Asaba, and the OC and his men were all invited, they were told that the session was a special briefing from the IG. “They employed the strategy in order not to allow any member of the squad to escape. Vanguard was told that after ensuring that the head of the task force was around and proper identification of the members made, the team disarmed the entire members of the task force.” A senior police officer in the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, maintained, yesterday, in a chat with Vanguard that the OC was being witchhunted by some persons, saying, “the success we have made so far in the state was due to his efforts; I don’t know why they are after him, nobody arrested him, but he was invited to Abuja with his boys”. Dissecting the kidnapping saga and criminality as an industry in the state, Governor Uduaghan asserted that after the Niger Delta conflict, we have another round of conflict, which involves community against oil companies. We now have kidnapping and armed robbery. “After Christmas kidnapping rose, we have been making efforts and a lot of persons have been arrested. The solution to crime is intelligence gathering and the other is for the security agents to go and make arrests, it involves logistics. The state government is committed to improving infrastructure and the logistics. “We have met some challenges, information is the key, our people are not willing to give out information, we urge people to give out relevant information”, he stated. Pastors arrested too — Uduaghan The governor, however, observed: “We have now noticed insiders’ involvement in the kidnapping; they give out vital information to the kidnappers about the victims. Pastors have been arrested too, people you think are innocent are now involved”. He cautioned: “We should be vigilant because persons you don’t think can be involved are indeed involved. A lot of arrests have been made, police have arrested 40, SSS has arrested 40 and the Army has arrested 18 persons. “We are also talking with professionals especially the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, about lawyers who try to get bail for kidnappers”, he added. Uduaghan then appealed to family members of kidnapped victims to cooperate with security agents, saying, “they should not rush to pay ransom. We are putting all efforts to curb these activities, we assure oil workers that they are protected; we should be discreet about our financial dealings”. Comments are moderated. WE DON'T WANT POLICE CHECK POINT PLEASE, THERE HAS BEEN ROBBERY INCIDENT SINCE I WAS BORN AND THE POLICE CHECK POINT COULD NOT STOP THEM, WHY NOW? POLICE FRUSTRATION OF OKADA RIDERS HAS TURNED MANY TO DEADLY ROBBERS WHO RETURN TO ATTACK POLICE AT CHECK POINTS. THEY CANT PROTECT THEMSELVES, TALK MORE OF THE MASSES. |
Please stop blackmailing His Excellency the governor of Delta State, there is nothing like kidnapping in Warri. Are you a police man trying to lobby the federal government for police to return to check point. We don't need them, ever since they left the check point there has been peace in Warri. If they like let the sponsor kidnapping to justify their coming back, we will reject them. They should patrol the street and gather intelligence info. The army is at the three point exit from Warri, the police should do internal patrol and rapid response to distress calls. Uduaghan is creating jobs every day to reduce unemployment, most people now call him the job machine and you are here blackmailing him.It is unfair |

Uduaghan demystified unemployed graduates by creating additional 600 jobs withing three months after the initial 200 job offer as the N1billion SMEs development fund set to create thousands of jobs |
Uduaghan creates another 600 jobs for unemployed graduates in Delta State |
@Olumide All your unnecessary ranting will not stop delta youths from going to the street to protest for freedom. Dont give deltans reasons to believe that yorubas are part of the oppressors. With or without the yorubas, no body can stop the moving train. If sss does not give clearance withing 3weeks the youths will occupy the street forcefully to demand for freedom |
Warri and Asaba at the same time. details to come later |
Delta state youths have concluded plans to stage a massive protest in support of a referendum to split Nigeria into north and south and the establishment of a US military base to protect oil installations in the Niger Delta. This was the outcome of several meetings held among youth groups in Delta state. The group which comprises Unemployed graduates association, former militants, tribal youth associations and students groups concluded that any marriage that has no love and mutual trust cannot stand. In their words ''We don't marry each other, we don't love each other, how can we live together ; on referendum we stand'' Details to come soon. |
Uduaghan set to distribute buses to all parts of delta to reduce effect of fuel subsidy remover |
@Queensmith Don't worry, NNPC will end up like Nitel. When the telecoms sector was deregulated, people thought that Nitel would do better but unfortunately Nitel GSM is no where. |
While other governors were busy celebrating x mas, Uduaghan was providing safety net and shock absorber for deltans to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy. He didn't say I will provide buses and boats, he provided them already before the fuel subsidy removal http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/01/delta-tackles-fuel-subsidy-removal-with-more-buses-boats/ |
Emiye we did it and the man is working, what else do you want from him? |
emiye:What do you mean by being a disaster? How am I a disaster? Can you confront a PDP government like we did? |
@Doctowus why are you so particular about delta state? |
Beaf The man of integrity, be grateful to Uduaghan for reducing the tension. Delta would have been on fire by today over fuel subsidy removal |
Sapele residents relocate over explosions On January 2, 2012 · In News | 2:00 am By Emma Amaize & Godwin Oghre SAPELE— RESIDENTS of Hausa quarters and environs in Sapele, Delta State have started relocating from the area, following two explosions in less than one month for fear of being maimed or killed. The first was at the Central Mosque on Palm Avenue Road, early, last month, in which one person was critically injured and part of the religious house shattered, and the second, few days to the New Year, at the Children Islamic School on Urhobo Road, at which about 10 pupils were injured. However, some of the panic-stricken citizens, including the head teacher of the Islamic School, which was hit by explosive, suspected to be dynamite on December 27, Mallam Mohammed Razaq, have called on the state government and Police Command to provide adequate security for the people. Vanguard learnt that the residents, who reside near the scenes of the two incidents, were frightened that they might be casualties next time, if they failed to move away from the area. Mallam Razaq said the pupils, 10 of whom were injured in last Tuesday’s explosion and Muslim worshipers in Sapele needed adequate security against further bomb attack. One of the residents, Mr. Nathaniel Onorume, living about 100 yards away from the spot of Tuesday’s explosion confirmed that inhabitants of the affected area were relocating because of the fear of future bomb attacks. He said, “It is the second tune within a mouth that unknown persons have detonated bomb in the area. The Sapele Central Mosque, where a bomb was detonated barely a month ago is only two poles away from the Children Islamic School, where another bomb was detonated, last Tuesday night.” A woman in her 70s, who preferred anonymity corroborated the claim of Onorume and advised security agencies to ensure that there was no further explosion in the area. On the fate of the 10 injured pupils, Mallam Razaq said they were responding to treatment at the various hospitals. Father of two of the wounded pupils, Alhaji Asad Mohammed, told Vanguard that his children were responding to treatment. Comments are moderated. HNosegbe:Delta to generate own power soon
|
HNosegbe: I thank you very much for being one of those few people that have made reasonable contribution. However, we have been hearing that language of enabling environment right from the time of the military to this present day but there has never been an enabling environment. What you are saying can be achieved in a long term but what the youths want is an immediate intervention to take them off the street while the government continues to work on the long term plan. The agricultural development you talked about was part of the demand of NAUG and the governor has started working on it. For us to have an enabling environment, the presidency must work in collaboration with the state government to ensure constant power supply, establishment of more refineries, activation of the real sector of our economy and strengthen the banking sector to play their role. |
@Rhino5dm Thanks for your willingness to support us at the time of our struggle. We are neither associated with the PDP nor the opposition party. We are a group of youths who felt it is our right to be served by the government. It is only an unrepentant opposition group that will castigate a man continually even when the man is doing the right thing. The point at which we made a U-turn was the point at which the governor started doing things differently and the man is performing. Should we continue to attack His Excellency when he is performing? If we don’t appreciate the good things he has done, how do we encourage him to do more? We are not sycophants, we say things the way they are. |
@Beaf you are yet to convince me on why I should continue to be against the governor. The man has decided to do things differently, he has pitched tent with the masses instead of PDP, the youths are benefiting and you want us to continue to be against him. What was the reason for the agitation? |
Doctowus Don't let Warri boys here you make this type of statement, it is obvious that you are not from Delta State. If you are living in Warri, you will thank the governor for picking people from the street. There is no gentle man in that part of the country, if you don't pick boys from the street, they will make life miserable for you. |
@Doctokwus I don't understand your criticism, is it the governor that is wrong by employing the unemployed graduates or it is the unemployed graduates that are wrong by accepting the employment? |
oyb make your point clear, you are not making sense |
@oyb there are so many ITK in NL. The writer did not refer to Delta State, it is a Nigerian problem. |
pls explain your post very well I don't understand you |
