NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES(NAUG) PRESS BRIEFING OUR POSITION TO THE DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT AND THE OUTCOME OF OUR MEETING WITH THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE Unemployment has been identified as the major catalyst to all forms violent crimes in Nigeria. It has been observed that the state of mind of an average unemployed youth is to kill, die or make life uncomfortable for others. The situation is aggravated by the widening gap between the rich and the poor. A situation where the poor people go to public places to watch the privileged people in government spending their collective wealth in drinking Champagne of N50,000 per bottle in less than a minute while it is difficult for an unemployed youth to get a job of N18,000 per month is not a good development for Nigeria. It is pertinent to note that unemployment is the major cause of criminal activities and violent crimes ranging from armed robbery, militancy, kidnapping to terrorism. It is even more disheartening to know that we have the God given natural resources to get out of this quagmire of unemployment that we found ourselves but government at all levels have chosen to ignore this important aspect of governance. The 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria section 14 sub- sections 2(b) made it very clear that the welfare and security of citizens shall be the primary purpose of government. It is our believe that any government that does not give priority attention to the welfare and security of its citizen has no reason to exist. Giving priority attention to the welfare of citizens is the surest way to ensure security. No amount of armored personnel carrier and police patrol vehicle can ensure security in an environment of poverty and hunger. OUR POSITION TO THE DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT Our position to the Delta State government includes but not limited to the following: that 1. The state government should have a yearly budget for youth empowerment and job creation in line with the UNESCO bench mark. 2. The state government should set up a state model of the federal government entrepreneurial development scheme called YOUWIN to train and genuinely establish youths with entrepreneurial ability in the state. 3. The state government should sponsor youths to get international certification such as welding inspection, pump and valve maintenance, under water welding certification, NIIT certification, etc to make our youths more viable for employment into multi-national and oil companies instead of investing N5million each for first class graduates to study any course abroad without bringing anything back to contribute to our national GDP. 4. The state government should set up farm settlement across the state and enact a law that will ensure that all youth coppers posted to Delta State are made to serve in the farm settlement and teach in our schools. This is very necessary because we have observed that one of the reasons for graduate unemployment in the state is that our people are posted to teach in rural areas in other states and after service they come back to join the army of unemployed graduates in the state while coppers from other states are posted to multinational and oil companies operating in the state to serve and a lot of them are retained after service. 5. The state government should upgrade existing technical colleges in the state to international standard where our youths can acquire skills that will make them self reliant and employable. Guidance and counseling section should be strengthened in schools to counsel students on their chosen career which should be well defined at primary school level. 6. The state government should establish a waste recycling plant where waste generated in the state can be converted into wealth. This will not only ensure a clean environment but it will also create jobs and contribute to our national GDP. THE OUTCOME OF OUR MEETING WITH HIS EXCELLENCY DR. EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN, THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE. After an exhaustive deliberation between members of the National Association of Unemployed Graduates(NAUG) and the Governor of Delta State, the governor graciously approve the immediate employment of 200 unemployed graduates directly from the street into the Delta State Civil Service in order to reduce the effect of unemployment on the youths. The employment which was distributed among sister organizations whose members are part of us like Project Uduaghan, UGSM and the Believers Council which is the umbrella body of the intellectual community in Delta State, covers members from the 25 Local Government areas that make up Delta State. His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan also set aside N1billion in the Bank of Industry for youth empowerment and job creation. The governor has also scheduled a meeting between the government, Bank of Industry and the leadership of NAUG where an understanding will be reached on how best the money can be administered practically to productively engage unemployed youths in Delta State. This is the first time unemployed youths are getting employment directly into the state civil service without the aid of House of Assembly members, commissioners and senators as against the practice in the past where employment slots are shared among house of assembly members, commissioners, senators and party stalwarts to give to their brothers and relatives while those who don’t have brothers in position of authority are made to remain jobless and miserable and in most cases end up as armed robbers and kidnappers. We want to thank His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan for breaking the jinx against all odd to give hope to the hopeless youths in Delta State. To this end therefore, we want to admonish unemployed youths/graduates who are engaged in armed robbery and kidnapping to sheath their sword and take advantage of the opportunities created by the governor in the Bank of Industry. We assure you that no politician will be allowed to highjack the opportunities from the targeted people who are the less privilege youths roaming the street as we are going to be directly involved in the process. We are in the street as well and we know how difficult it is to be in the street without support from anywhere. Signed: Comrade Ovie O. Sanco PRO NAUG |
Only a graduate in the intellectual community can handle the office of the SSA students affairs, particularly former students leaders, so I don't think it is a bad ideal to give such office to a former NANS zone B ASG |
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan mesmerizes unemployed graduates in Delta State with multiple employments in the Delta State Civil Service. The governor also set aside N1billion in the Bank of Industry for youth empowerment and job creation. The governor appointed unemployed graduates directly from the street as Senior Special Assistant and Political Aid respectively to work with him. |
If all leaders in Delta State can emulate Dr. Chris Oghenechovwen philanthropic disposition, then Delta State will be a better place for all to live |
There was a moment of uncontrollable exhilaration among members of the Believers Council in Delta State as Hon Dr. Chris Oghenechovwen donated over 200 bags of rice and 1million naira cash to the body for X mass celebration. The Believers Council which is an umbrella body of the intellectual community in Delta State express its profound gratitude to the former federal law maker for putting smile on the faces of members of the Believers Council in this yuletide season. |
Uduaghan's men move to remove principal officers of the house for allowing the motion to sail through. The principal members of the house plan to join the opposition to remove the governor. This is a very interesting drama, lets see how it play out |
Occupy wall street, Uduaghan must go

Uduaghan may become a thing of the past

System Failure:delta State House Of Assembly Threatened To Impeach Uduaghan DTHA has threatened to impeach the embattled governor of Delta State over poor administration and system failure. The law makers adjourn indefinitely to protest the bad administration of the Uduaghan led government

can some one show me where her b*rest is.
|
@Rhino.5dm I don't think they have yet but I will discuss it with one of them, when they are set for that, they will make it public. They said any body who wants to join the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES should send the word 'YES WE CAN' and his or her phone number to Naug2011@gmail.com. |
This girl has no b*rest but she has a b*rest cancer foundation worth over N10 billion.
|
Don't mind him he is afraid of what will happen when the revolution begins |
GenBuhari:Thanks a lot, what the protesters need basically is international medial coverage. They plan to embark on a one million man march which is tagged ''OCCUPY DELTA'' very soon. Nairalanders will get the date for the unrest in due course. |
He can be Igbo only if the candidate is not associated with Uduaghan. Uduaghan is a bad news |
If they can impeach him, then they will be friends to the masses and that can attract sympathy vote for them by 2015. Pitching tent with Uduaghan is an express road to failure. Victor Ochie, the Uduaghan candidate who is in possession of our N27 Billion is dead on arrival. The IPP project has not generated 1 Megawat to deltans but the money is no where, an amount enough to send 20,000 youths to South Africa for oil and gas specialized training to make them viable for employment into oil companies. |
Jega should be careful of the kind of people he send to delta state to conduct election because the youths in delta will decide how they want their future to be by 2015. 70% of total active voters in delta state are unemployed youths |
Anioma will lose out of the power game if they associate with Uduaghan. The target of majority of deltans is to work against any candidate presented by Uduaghan. We don't care where the candidate is coming from, any Uduaghan candidate must fail. Even the prostitute on the street will work against him because he created a new dimension in prostitution by his poor performance. |
These law makers were part of the problem , their political ambition in 2015 is bleak that is why they are not comfortable because unemployed youths who are the majority will ambush them at the poll |
@Ohnyore What is the meaning of your argument ? Masters degree students already had first degree, PHD students already had first degree and masters. The title of this thread says students and unemployed graduates. |
the man has a mental problem, he should be impeached |
Beaf is a fly in this issue, not even Uduaghan can stop a revolution whose time has come. People like Beaf are sycophants who makes Uduaghan thinks that he is doing the right thing when it is obvious that the man is derailing |
system failure in delta state Uduaghan is afraid of his shadow, sues for peace |
N40 Billion is enough to take 40, 000 unemployed youths off the street but he chose to spend 100million on the motor park called airport and keep the rest for himself |
Asaba drainage problem is just a smoke screen, the major problem in delta state is poverty and hunger. They should be bold enough to tell the governor the reason why the electorates in their various constituencies are angry with them. What concerns a hungry man in Sapele with the drainage problem at Asaba. who is suppose to carry out oversight function to ensure that the contractors are doing their job as approved by they house. |
Uduaghans daughter's marriage may be truncated if the governor refuse to start the process of job creation. Unemployed graduates are mobilizing seriously to prevent dignitaries from accessing the venue of the marriage. The marriage may turn bloody Watch out |
@Blink 182 Thanks my brother for the prayer |
The law makers are already feeling the heat of unemployment in their constituency. Those who moved the motion have been kidnapped by area boys in the past and they were released after parting ways with huge amount of money |
papa Ayo is a political pastor. so it is no news that he said so |
In what appears to be a follow-up of the protest by unemployed graduates over the high level of unemployment and poor state of infrastructure in Delta State, the delta state House of Assembly members have adjourn sitting indefinitely to protest the high rate of unemployment and infrastructural decay. They said that those who voted for them are complaining seriously and they may become victim of the planed revolution. The action of the law makers have been described by political observers as a diplomatic vote of no confidence on the Governor because most of the law makers are in PDP. Lawmakers in Delta State are protesting the continued decay of infrastructure in the country. The Assembly yesterday passed a resolution adjourning sine dine (indefinitely) until Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan orders contractors to complete their projects. The Assembly resumed yesterday after over 10 weeks recess. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/24379-delta-assembly-protests-poor-state-of-roads.html The legislature deplored “poor state of roads” and “drainage network” in Asaba-the capital and slammed contractors for tardiness. This decision followed a motion by Johnson Erijo (Isoko South II),who sought to amend an earlier motion by Dennis Omuvie (Warri South 11) to summon the contractors. Erijo said contractors had refused to complete their jobs, adding that some of the contracts were awarded more than three years ago. He noted that some of the uncompleted road projects, especially the Ughelli-Asaba dualisation, had become a death trap and called for speedy completion of the projects. “The road is in a very bad shape and many people are killed there daily and if nothing is done more lives will be lost. “The people, who voted us into office, are not happy with them because of the poor state of infrastructure and the menace of flooding in Asaba,” Erijo said. The motion, which was adopted, was seconded by Majority Leader Monday Igbuya (Sapele). Before the adjournment, the lawmakers approved the upward review of salaries of some political appointees attached to the governor, to bring their emoluments at par with those of commissioners. The approval was sequel to a request by the governor through a letter, which was read by Speaker Victor Ochei durin |
her name is Orode Jade Uduaghan. The foundation is Pink Pare foundation. The girl has not done any work in her life ,where does she get money to set up a foundation |
Beaf is the younger brother of a known Uduaghan sycophant, we know him and we know that he will deny but we will prove it to you all very soon |
