Fine. Comparably better deals in the secondary market going by the hazzles with pry market.

Good decision...bt I need the longer tenor. Having compared some of the rates in the secondary market with their tenors, i have come to conclude that longer tenors are better than the shorter ones even though the difference in rates between primary nd secondary market may appear ignorable.

Even in the primary market, if u decide to invest in the 182days tenor twice in a year, it does not add up to the interest you get when you invest in the 364days tenor. Except that the advantage in short tenor investment is that it matures quickly and U get your money back to diversify.

Sorry, a quick question: did you put in at least 50m for the primary market? GT and Access were insisting I needed to have 50m; otherwise, I have to settle for secondary market. I was thinking they would gather investments to make up that amount and bid on behalf of clients.

Well, i think thats the case at Stanbic, you are allowed to invest in the primary market but the bank's rate is what you go with. Though I was told at another branch of theirs that one can quote his own rate, but I doubt if thats true.
BTW, my investment is far less than 50M.

I tried reinvesting my upfront interest at stanbic, but I was told I cant do it on the same application but will have to be wait till the next auction which will be in 2 weeks time or better still go to the secondary market.
Is this supposed to be so?

it is on d principal. the initial capital

so does it mean that after the initial investment, subsequent investments wont get the charge on the capital but on interest?

Just a quick one house, the stanbic ibtc fee of 0.125%, is it charged on the principal or the interest? I would like to hear from those who have invested with the bank.

Well the truth is that most first class, second class upper, Distinction, UpperCredit graduates end up being employed by illiterates, third class and pass holders.

I know many instances where the establishments of the so called illiterates engage the services of HR Consultancy firms to recruit for them. The HR firms even conduct aptitude test for the applicants. Chai

If I may ask, why didnt the illiterate go ahead to employ fellow illiterates to work for him, since illiterates can do better?

With these outrageous and never-seen before rates, i am forced to become skeptical like @Poposki pointed out earlier. I just hope govt meet up with their debt servicing.

What are you waiting for? 18% for 65days is a good deal.

How will the interest be calculated? Is the 65days a reminder of 91, 182 or 364 days tenor? Would really like to know how to balance this already counting tenor kind of investment

Morning House...
Please does anyone have an idea how much interbank transfers cost and how many days it takes. Am thinking of transfering my fund from my present bank to a new one where I will get a better deal on my investment. Really want to avoid the risk of carrying huge cash.

It's not rare. Some people even have published materials right from undergraduate program and they still continued even after concluding their degree. That's exactly what these schools are looking for. Peeps with overwhelming research potentials who would require little supervision.

ok...so does dat mean a person without publications does not stand a good chance for admission?

Good day House..
My question bothers on letter of intent or statement of interest as the case may be. Is it a must dat some1 going for masters needs to have published a work or an article for his letter of intent to have the desired appeal to the graduate committee? I mean, here in our clime, its quite rare to see something like dat, if am not wrong because usually after graduation is straight to NYSC nd job hunting follows. The best most people have is their final year project research.
I know dat could be a criteria for Phd candidates...but for masters?
Please I will like the input from the experienced ppl in the house. Thanks.

Not just for not having a travel history. If you previously contravened the conditions on a previous issued visa eg, overstayed a visa, It can be a single reason for refusal on grounds of travel history. Otherwise, it usually will come with other reasons.

Thanks for the response...I was actually wondering if that is possible. I was told that somebody was refused because his passport had no travel history. It sounded impossible to me cause at some point one will not have a history and it takes travelling to have that.

Will it be safe for one to tender a document showing the money he intends to use to sponsor himself is invested with a bank, or must the money be in his account?
What I mean is if I invest my sponsorship money in a fixed deposit or teasury bill with a bank and it would not mature before the application for my TRV, will the document showing that I have such funds invested somewhere and it will mature before I leave for school, be admissible by the VO as proof of fund or must the said money be in my account?
I decided to ask the house because am on the verge of doing this..

lets not jump into conclusion so fast, from what i understand about NTB...individuals ordinarily cannot apply directly unless they have a minimum of 150m......thats y we go through the banks or financial houses , and what the banks do is to compile a list of applicants.....then apply to the CBN......on our behalf, minimum investments varied with the different banks. So now if this new policy is stating 50m minimum.....how does that affect us when ordinarily we dont apply individually or r u guys saying that the banks would require u to have 50m before u can put in an application at the bank level.

fidelity securities and other finance houses could as well collect peoples money and invest in d NTB primary market.......without any wahala just like they have always done . or r we saying that the finance houses would no longer offer such services unless we apply with 50m.

as individuals we dont subscribe directly to CBN.....and from what i read above ,minimum subscription to the CBN on NTB is 50m.

i would like answers and clarifications on my observations.
I think I would like to align myself with your position. If NTB is truely a mechanism for checking liquidity in the system, then i see no reason why the CBN and other agencies would want to freeze out the common man in whos hands the monies they are try to control are. Ur view about it being the banks an not individuals is quite reasonable. We contribute to the banks and they apply to the CBN, and I think that accounts for the reason why many banks have varying amount they accept for TB investment.
Really, how many Nigerians have the 50M to invest at once in TB. Dat alone will also raise the eyes of the EFCC et al on such people as to their source of funding which most of them would not want.

You have to elaborate very well. Who's your sponsor, hope what you're going for is a branch of your UG program?
As regard home ties, the fact that you're not employed does not mean anything. Personal assets will likely not work against you.
Also hope you have siblings, parents,...does your dad have landed properties that you can lay claim to? Does any of your parent have registered company?.....the most important part of home ties is your parents and siblings.

In a case where the person is an only child whose parent were not even married and also does not have tangible assets except for a parcel of land that has not been developed. How does he prove home ties. This actually applies to me.

Morning house,
Please I would like to get ur suggestions on Universities dat are open for winter admissions 2018.
My school of interest is Memorial University, but due to finacial limitations I did not know that I would get the money for my program dis early so i did not start my application and its closed already.
My course of interest is M.A Sociology(thesis option), with a 4.23 CGPA and a budget of 9M(self-sponsor). I would like suggestions 4rm experienced people in the house on schools that I will be able to afford and that are open for January 2018 admission. Those i saw are above my budget.
I feel waiting for MUN till next fall will be a waste of time of some sort as I dont really have a good job dat can keep me busy till then(already a worry for TRV) and secondly age isnt by my side.
Thanks for your expected inputs.

Is it possible for one to stay 3days after the auction without recieving an alert and his account officer says his bid went through. Went to my bank 2day to know if my bid was successful after I did not hear from by bank however, the account officer i submitted my application to said I should expect my alert today. Experienced members in the house, does it take that long for ones account to be debited if his bid was successful? Considering the fact that people in the house have gotten alert since early morning thursday.

Please House, does anyone here use Diamond bank for NTB transactions? I submitted a bid at my branch even though I was asked not to specify any rate, I am still yet to hear from dem. I would like to know if anybody on this thread bidded for Feb 15th using Diamond bank and if so, did the person go with the bank rate or specified his/her own rate and what is the outcome?
