Maybe God wants it that way for a purpose. The begining of the church saw the apostles in one place under the leadership of Peter. Persecution scattered them to various places. the government of the church became decentralized. A decentralized government has an advantage in that it becomes difficult to destroy it. |

CULLED FROM JOHN OKIYI KALU What manner of arrogance is this? You wrote the President, your boss, a private letter expressing concerns on issues related to your work. Fine and good. You now leak a copy of your "confidential" communication to a private citizen and somehow it got to the media and British parliament as a propaganda tool against your boss and employer. How did it get there? After publicly reviewing the issues around your letter at the national assembly it was clear to all that you were not well informed about the operations of the NNPC and the oil sector or professional enough in your conclusions and conjectures. Even a baby like me knew that $50.9b CAN NOT grow wings in a financial year without the economy collapsing completely. Even the yet to be reconciled $10.5b must be within the economic system and nobody stole it as you sold it in your rabble rousing campaign. A CBN governor who cannot keep secrets and even manage information is useless to the system. All over the world, CBN governors are not expected to be loquacious because their words impact on the economic system. But here we are stuck with a CBN governor that talks before thinking. In consideration of your gaffes and weaknesses, your boss asked you privately to resign rather than be sacked or messing up the economy further for another 5 months. And you responded with this? :"I am going nowhere and I can only be removed by two-thirds of the Senate as required by law" and then leak the telephone conversation to the media again. What manner of feudal arrogance is that? Which law is this man talking about? Has he not heard of official secret act of 1962 as retained in our current constitution? Shouldn't he be answering questions with the police rather than sitting pretty at CBN with his arrogant bum bum? Unfortunately people will applaud this latest disregard and disrespect to our laws and office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Makes me wonder if the same people hailing the mullah would have done so if Soludo and YarAdua were involved. It is simply because we don't care about law and order that a man who was allegedly involved in beheading of Citizen Gideon Akaluka was allowed to become central bank governor in a secular country. To add salt to injury, nobody can clearly point to what this man achieved at CBN outside his over hyped attempt at launching Islamic banks in Nigeria. Every other thing about him has been all about overheating the polity with unguarded statements and actions. If the CBN governor is allowed to get away with insurbodination and this unfounded arrogance, Nigerians should understand that we have started writing the final chapters of our national history. Every Nigerian must show respect and deference to the office of the President and our laws, including the official secret act as it affects public servants. Permitting little indiscretions and revolts like this can only have long term negative effect as well as entrench a culture of leaking of official secrets. It doesn't matter who is president today, the presidency is an institution and laws must be obeyed by all, especially those higher up in the establishment food chain. Even if your father owns Nigeria, you must subject yourself to our laws and institutions or else return to Sudan and set up your own enclave where you will be Capo di tutti capi among sundry extremists and head hunters. On the other hand, Mr President might need to review his leadership style to stem the descent into anarchy. Rather than call Sanusi on the phone, the police should have taken over since December and arrested everyone involved in the leakage of the official document. It might be easier to manage the arrogance of certain men when they are behind bars or starring jail in the eyes. Weakness is one thing, perception of weakness is another thing. Instead of doing the conversion process once as was the case when we got issued with employment letters in Lagos, the cabal at Obajana dragged it slowly to enable them to smuggle in many people who were never part of the original set that received training in Zaria and employment letters in Lagos. The conversion started in June 2013 and ended in November 2013, a period of six months for something that should not have taken more than one week for a fair minded and serious set of people. At the end, only very few of the original graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers while the cabal in charge of the conversion exercise succeeded in getting their people into the positions meant for the graduate drivers. So, we were waiting for the exercise to continue when on December 02, 2013, the head of transport, ALHAJI LADAN, directed that our salaries be stopped. When we went to find out why our December salaries were stopped, they told us to come back today being January 06, 2014. So, you could imagine our surprises when, on reaching there today, they just came out and started issuing termination letters to us.' When asked how many graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers, he replied that they were about six. He further revealed that the scheme was actually a ploy used by the company to take a loan from a foreign agency and to boost its image both at home and abroad, and that's why the company is doing away with the graduate drivers now that the deed has been done. He further berated the set of people that heads the transport sector at Obajana, who are all Northern Hausa Muslims, for being overly incompetent and corrupt. hotwax: Must we lie that we have electricity in order not to offend Jonathan people?am i the only one living in umuahia town here? i have never seen power supply like this in nigeria. we are happy. one of friends that owns a shops was so happy. we made a little calculation on it. he spends =N=300 every night on fuel for his generator. if the power supply continues to be steady as it is now, he wld save =N=300 every day. and that wld save him =N=109,500 in 365 days. he asked me " Is it easy for somebody to give you =N=109,500?" BADNEAT: as well as has not paid gratuity of retired civil servants, , has skinned the allowances of civil servants (study leave pay..etc)...has converted most lands belonging to struggling imolites without compensation (nworie ave...world bank road etc..) has abandoned major projects such as bridges started by d past government for useless flyovers (amakohia bridge, orji etc..) has deceived the people of imo state with d idea of his rural roads development (d only roads being developed are in orlu...substandard still...I don't know about u guys buh I'm yet to see a road constructed by rochas in my village. ..or even lga...right in front of my lga headquarters u hv potholes and gullies. )..Other previous governments made sure all rural roads were graded with laterite during xmas period...ohakim enhanced d practice using iroma...he purchased big trucks n machines. .where are they now??...if I continue eeeh...I don tire joor. ..its just irritating wen people come on nairaland.com with pictures ...saying wat they don't know. ..u passed imo state on ur way to anambra ..u come n start posting pictures and arguing dt rochas is working. ...like say imo state was a virgin land b4 rochas. ..95percent of the roads I've seen on nairaland.com being accorded to d rochas government were there b4 he came in....even if u see ongoing construction on roads know that he's removing d dualization structure and constructing another one. ..he's good at it...anybody wey pass owerri and see that its fine will start shouting rochas is working wen infact it was gov.ikedi ohakim that beautified owerri. ..infact dt was one of the reasons why he was voted out ..cos he used entraco to remove all illegal structures mostly belonging to the poor. .so do u think ararume can govern better than rochas? compare rochas to ohakim. what is athur nzeribe doing there if not for his godfathers allocation? |
