my aim of writing this is not for u to believe me, but to let those concerned to know what is happening at that location. i may make out time to go inform the anglican church that owns that school. tho they've put a gate to block that road in the night. its of no use since the walls to the school has been broken and anyone can enter there anytime. if possible, a security man should be there.

as for my courage? i believed the robber was really going to shoot anyhow in broad day light. and if he shot, he may not easily get away. he was under pressure.

i thot about that. i doubted if he was really going to shoot considering its broad day light and pple passing around. if he shot, can he get away easily?

but my brothers told me i did the right thing. here when pple hear a gun shot, everybody wld first of all run for safety b4 asking what happen. i wld have to spend more than 2k treating the wound.

during our conversation. i remember he told me he's looking for money to travel to malaysia, he heard nigerians are making lots of money there. i told him i have a friend there and he made me understand that the jobs there are for the citizens. that as a foreigner, u r either going there for business or studies. unless he wants to go for drugs trafficking which is risky. he asked ' what about yahoo yahoo"

said he wld take it easy with because of the way i talked with him. he even wanted to give me back N500. but when he asked who i was talking with on the phone, and i told him someone was waiting for me to come and fix his laptop. he said ok, the person wld pay me... i wld get my money back.

yea. i guess i shld continue. i was pissed off by the other guys comment

i suppose my advice to the young made some impact on him from some of his comments.
he made me to know that something happened and that's what made him to do such things. and that i should know that he wld have prepared for the worst b4 coming out there, so, why am i treating him like a small boy?

well... i cant just remember our conversation exactly. i can remember i was bold enough to advice him to go and learn a skill. i gave him an example of some youth members in our church who learning one skill or the other. i look at him and to him he is able bodied, strong and handsome, that he just needed to find something doing. after that he should look for a lady that is also working and get married..... and that breakthrough may come from his wife's connection and all that. he listened to me patiently...

the location was this primary school besides st stephen's anglican church umuahia on niger road by eket street (cant remember the name).
i was just sitting outside one of the classrooms there around 2pm watching some kids play football in the field while enjoying my banana.

i noticed a young man, quite some distance away towards a bush in the school compd carrying a black polythene bag. he walked to me and sat besides me. next he asked me when the footballers are going to come around. i just told him " i dont know" and continued with my banana. his next question was " do u stay around here?" my reply "no, my house is quite far" . next thing was for him to show me the content of the polythene bag and thats a gun.

he asked me to give him some thing. i asked " what do u want?" his reply was that i should give him anything i have......

those things u r things u r suggesting above are already taken over by non graduate skilled workers. and engineering equipments are quite expensive for a fresh graduate to set up a company.

there is this story in the bible.
someone went to hire some laborers. the first set started work 6 am, second set started work 12pm and third set started work 3pm. all closed work 6pm and were paid the same amount. is that fair.

sometimes life is not fair. some get what they dont deserve. u may call it grace or favor or whatever.

That's selfishness. they don't want to die. when are they going to pray against the corruption and wasteful spending that is killing millions of nigerians.

well, my church- First Baptist Church, Umuahia is quite different. not less than 5 youths are currently sponsored to acquire skills in fashion design, tiles fixing, computer repairs and basic computer training by a member of the church. but the majority of other churches have failed woefully in this fundamental responsibility.
and until pple speak out against this nothing will change.

and btw individuals in the church must not wait for the church pastor b4 the sponsor the youth because the pastor is more interested in spending money on building more beautiful edifice and other matters.

maybe this NAUG pple should put this matter in their agenda

Miss EZ: Haha...well i am a practicing Christian so i am not in support of abandoning skydaddy as you put it. But the bible is clear that faith without works is dead. As Nigerians, we can pray all we want, but if we do not begin to actively partake in the reformation process, nothing will happen.

Nigerians have the "leave it to God" mentality. A belief in God does not automatically mean failure to take action. I look forward to seeing every citizen, especially the youths who are greatly affected by the state of the country join hands to be a part of the solution. It is highly debatable that such will happen.

It is a fact that man should no should not shift all responsibilities to God in the name of prayer, faith, seed sowing etc. but take actions to improve his life.

i doubt if Aliko Dangote's success in business has as much to do with prayer as it has to do with making decisions to take profitable actions. he is not even a christian. so which God is blessing him? yet today he has more useful influence on the society than 1000's of the so-called men of God.

yet, prayer is very important. God is in charge of this our universe and it amounts to waste of time and energy to work against His will

so, how much to register a business name now?

i hope ngige knows his how to differentiate between his left and right hand. or he just knows how to build roads?

Nigeria: Dangote Plans U.S.$34.7 Billion Fresh Investment In Economy

The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has said that the Group is poised to make an additional investment totaling $US 34.7 billion in the economy by 2017.

He also said the cement arm of the group will commission an additional 10 million metric ton capacity in Nigeria by mid 2014 with an additional plan to also invest US $4.7 billion over the next four years in order to ensure that cement supply stays ahead of demand.

In a keynote address during the just ended Nigeria'53rd Independence Anniversary Lecture, organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Dangote said, the Nigerian financial sector has demonstrated its ability to support big ticket industrial projects - the most recent being the US$9 billion refinery project by Dangote Group and is poised to invest $US 34.7 billion by 2017.

"Private sector participation is growing in areas such as fertilisers, petrochemicals, etc. "Indigenous entrepreneurs now dominate some sectors that were at inception controlled by foreign firms, federal and state government, namely, financial services, cement, petroleum marketing; the upstream oil & gas sector," he said

Continuing, he said: "Agriculture continued as the lifeblood of the economy (accounting for 65 percent of GDP and 70 percent of exports).

Cocoa, cotton, groundnuts, oil palm products, and rubber were the principal export crops in the 1960s (and early 1970s). Agriculture largely provided the foreign exchange that was utilised in importing raw materials, capital & consumer goods; as well as funding basic infrastructure needs. Food security was achieved - not just because peasant farmers were able to produced enough to feed the entire population (but also because Nigerians had not yet developed the palate to consume what they did not produce."

Dangote said in setting an agenda for the next decade, government should improve the business climate and continuously benchmark our business environment against "best-in-class" investment destinations, implement the recently unveiled Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan, support the new investors in the power sector to ensure they "hit the ground running" and provide the kind of outcomes Nigerians desire.

He said their investment in agriculture is driven by our desire to create jobs for thousands of Nigerians and that It will increase their workforce from its present level of 26,000 employees to 750,000 employees .

biafranqueen: He could have used that money to open up a school for the women and children. He is the richest man in Africa. It is better to teach them to fish then to give them fish. He is highly intelligent he knows what to do to help those women in the long run like setting up micro financing.

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has said nobody is stopping President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting for the presidential election in 2015.

Lamido made the assertion when his colleagues, former members of the House of Representatives, who served the nation in 1979, paid him a courtesy visit in his office Monday.

According to the governor, "No one is stopping him from contesting. Jonathan is free to contest in 2015 but the process must be very transparent, it must be credible so that by the time we are through, it can be owned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)."

He said there were two issues at stake, one was the PDP government of Nigeria and the second was the PDP as a party.

In his words: "As far as the federal government is concerned, under the presidency of Jonathan, the government is a PDP government, and we are ready to defend it no matter what because it is a government we elected to last between May 2011 and May 2015."

The governor pointed out that "between that time span it is our government, therefore, we will stand by our president, we will defend his policies to secure him from opponents who will like to cheapen our own government."

He said the "governors are going to stand by the government to remain solid till May 28, specifically 2015 at midnight when the tenure expires."

The governor said for that reason, the "government of the PDP is their own government and the president of Nigeria is our own president," adding that the members of the party would defend him till the end of his tenure and that is guaranteed.

"But the political party called PDP is our main concern because they say Soja go, Soja come, president come, president go. Obasanjo came under PDP, Yar'Adua came under PDP, Jonathan came under PDP, and therefore more will come under PDP in the next one million years.

"So, our worry is the party, the PDP. It is purely a PDP affair. It is not a Nigerian affair because there are about 60 political parties in the country.

"In our own party, we feel there are a number of things going wrong and because we are the major party that formed the government we must have what is called due process, rule of law, transparency and integrity," he said.
