gulfer: Are you talking about the moonlight, or the generator powered lighting made available by your brothers who came to celebrate Chrismas and New Year? The newspapers would have been awash with the story had it been true.the story is true and confirmed. maybe gej is not doing enough to publicize his achievements. |
Information reaching my desk has confirmed that Dangote Group has quietly issued termination letters to almost all the graduate drivers that were recently employed amidst much publicity. One of the affected graduate drivers who pleaded for anonymity, was actually crying when he narrated their ordeal. 'We went through a training program at NITT, Zaria for three months and were issued with employment letters by the Dangote Group in March 2013 at their head office in Lagos. We were all deployed to Dangote Cement Plant, Obajana ( Transport Division). At Obajana, the head of transport, ALHAJI LADAN, directed that we all be made to undergo an attachment with the more experienced drivers just to enable us gather much experience. We were all undergoing the attachment when, sometimes in May 2013, a directive came from the head office in Lagos, directing that all the graduate drivers that wish to leave driving should indicate interest to be converted to Fleet Officers (which is an office work). We all wrote to be converted to Fleet Officers and that's when the drama started. Instead of doing the conversion process once as was the case when we got issued with employment letters in Lagos, the cabal at Obajana dragged it slowly to enable them to smuggle in many people who were never part of the original set that received training in Zaria and employment letters in Lagos. The conversion started in June 2013 and ended in November 2013, a period of six months for something that should not have taken more than one week for a fair minded and serious set of people. At the end, only very few of the original graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers while the cabal in charge of the conversion exercise succeeded in getting their people into the positions meant for the graduate drivers. So, we were waiting for the exercise to continue when on December 02, 2013, the head of transport, ALHAJI LADAN, directed that our salaries be stopped. When we went to find out why our December salaries were stopped, they told us to come back today being January 06, 2014. So, you could imagine our surprises when, on reaching there today, they just came out and started issuing termination letters to us.' When asked how many graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers, he replied that they were about six. He further revealed that the scheme was actually a ploy used by the company to take a loan from a foreign agency and to boost its image both at home and abroad, and that's why the company is doing away with the graduate drivers now that the deed has been done. He further berated the set of people that heads the transport sector at Obajana, who are all Northern Hausa Muslims, for being overly incompetent and corrupt. He is still confused as he seems confused on what to do next.
Tell the guy to stop crying and think with his brain to find a way out. youwin is still on (www.youwin.org.ng). let him start from there- he now has a driving skill which can turn into a business. so he should think towards the line of transportation business which is still lucrative today. Plan B- He should look around for close friends and family members who can help him raise a loan, with a payback spread over a period of 1 or 2 years. dont tell me he does not have anybody to help him unless u want to tell me he has very poor relationship skills. |
Ikengawo: Abia and rivers both announced last year that upon privatization they will have close to 24 hours of light. Under the old structure, power was like oil where some states produced it but couldn't enjoy themselves because they had to share it with the underproductive statesGod bless TA Orji |
hotwax: Must we lie that we have electricity in order not to offend Jonathan people?am i the only one living in umuahia town here? i have never seen power supply like this in nigeria. we are happy. one of friends that owns a shops was so happy. we made a little calculation on it. he spends =N=300 every night on fuel for his generator. if the power supply continues to be steady as it is now, he wld save =N=300 every day. and that wld save him =N=109,500 in 365 days. he asked me " Is it easy for somebody to give you =N=109,500?" Why won't he support Goodluck Jonathan? |
am happy for Peter Obi and Ndi Anambra. keep it up. |
20 - 24 hour power supply in Umuahia town. i dont know why some pple work against Goodluck Johnathan if not for selfish reasons. Goodluck to Nigeria! |
What impact has Ifeanyi Ararume made on people's lives so far? i learnt that rochas was impacting the pple even b4 he became governor with his free education to the poor. being a governor only gave him a platform to expand his impact. |
BADNEAT: as well as has not paid gratuity of retired civil servants, , has skinned the allowances of civil servants (study leave pay..etc)...has converted most lands belonging to struggling imolites without compensation (nworie ave...world bank road etc..) has abandoned major projects such as bridges started by d past government for useless flyovers (amakohia bridge, orji etc..) has deceived the people of imo state with d idea of his rural roads development (d only roads being developed are in orlu...substandard still...I don't know about u guys buh I'm yet to see a road constructed by rochas in my village. ..or even lga...right in front of my lga headquarters u hv potholes and gullies. )..Other previous governments made sure all rural roads were graded with laterite during xmas period...ohakim enhanced d practice using iroma...he purchased big trucks n machines. .where are they now??...if I continue eeeh...I don tire joor. ..its just irritating wen people come on nairaland.com with pictures ...saying wat they don't know. ..u passed imo state on ur way to anambra ..u come n start posting pictures and arguing dt rochas is working. ...like say imo state was a virgin land b4 rochas. ..95percent of the roads I've seen on nairaland.com being accorded to d rochas government were there b4 he came in....even if u see ongoing construction on roads know that he's removing d dualization structure and constructing another one. ..he's good at it...anybody wey pass owerri and see that its fine will start shouting rochas is working wen infact it was gov.ikedi ohakim that beautified owerri. ..infact dt was one of the reasons why he was voted out ..cos he used entraco to remove all illegal structures mostly belonging to the poor. .so do u think ararume can govern better than rochas? compare rochas to ohakim. what is athur nzeribe doing there if not for his godfathers allocation? |
Enigma17: Bye bye to Rochas...rochas gave u free education. pays salaries promptly develops imo state am i correct? |
mikeansy: really?Yes. rochas is far better than pdp's ohakim. and anywhere u see arthur nzeribe, run away from there. what we care about is good governance. whether u r from pdp or apc or whatever. we dont care about ur political party. |
1. I know about the Arewas. they possibly have the biggest landmass 2. I know the Oduduwas. they have the seaports and maybe the biggest markets 3. Then the Biafrans. 4. Now the Ijaws Nation, as Asari calls it. How about the Itsekiris and the Ikweres? do they also have their ow nation? |

Sincere 9gerian: I'm surprised APC e-demons, who are known to be anti-progress and development, have not attacked this thread. Haven't they seen it? If the message is too hot for them, what about the messenger?it is becoming real that APC has taken over nairaland with their malicious propaganda. trying very hard to rubbish any good thing about gej. hiding the truthing about his achievements and portraying him in devilish colors. they will soon be here. |
wow! APC is really sponsoring a lot of pple on nairaland ![]() |
cramjones: I only approve and endorse your last statement! However, I find your post geared towards ethnicity...I only want to discuss issues that bothers Nigeria...that is what the APC stands for. It is this type of ethnic, religious and nepotic mentality that have held Nigerians back. Enjoy the playoffs...I am routing for Indiana! It is very unfortunate that you and your party do not have any good thing to offer the citizens of Nigeria but to loot the oil wealth. you guys want to use every form of propaganda to remove gej simply because he has blocked ur corruption doorways, revived power supply and is positively affecting the lives of nigerian citizens. leave nigerians to have a breathe of FRESH AIR for once. haven't you had enough? hw much does it take to feed your pot belly and service your numerous mistresses? |
why is this topic not on front page yet? |
Posted on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 startIn 1966, a dyslexic sixteen-year-old boy dropped out of school. With the help of a friend, he started a magazine for students and made money by selling advertisements to local businesses. With only a little bit of money to get started, he ran the operation out of the crypt inside a local church. Four years later, he was looking for ways to grow his small magazine and started selling mail order records to the students who bought the magazine. The records sold well enough that he built his first record store the next year. After two years of selling records, he decided to open his own record label and recording studio. He rented the recording studio out to local artists, including one named Mike Oldfield. In that small recording studio, Oldfield created his hit song, Tubular Bells, which became the record label’s first release. The song went on to sell over 5 million copies. Over the next decade, the young boy grew his record label by adding bands like the Sex Pistols, Culture Club, and the Rolling Stones. Along the way, he continued starting companies: an airline business, then trains, then mobile phones, and on and on. Almost 50 years later, there were over 400 companies under his direction. Today, that young boy who dropped out of school and kept starting things despite his inexperience and lack of knowledge is a billionaire. His name is Sir Richard Branson. How I Met Sir Richard Branson Two weeks ago, I walked into a conference room in Moscow, Russia and sat down ten feet from Branson. There were 100 other people around us, but it felt like we were having a conversation in my living room. He was smiling and laughing. His answers seemed unrehearsed and genuine. At one point, he told the story of how he started Virgin Airlines, a tale that seems to capture his entire approach to business and life. Here’s the version he told us, as best I can remember it: I was in my late twenties, so I had a business, but nobody knew who I was at the time. I was headed to the Virgin Islands and I had a very pretty girl waiting for me, so I was, umm, determined to get there on time. At the airport, my final flight to the Virgin Islands was cancelled because of maintenance or something. It was the last flight out that night. I thought this was ridiculous, so I went and chartered a private airplane to take me to the Virgin Islands, which I did not have the money to do. Then, I picked up a small blackboard, wrote “Virgin Airlines. $29.” on it, and went over to the group of people who had been on the flight that was cancelled. I sold tickets for the rest of the seats on the plane, used their money to pay for the chartered plane, and we all went to the Virgin Islands that night. I took this photo right after he told that story. A few moments later I stood shoulder–to–shoulder with him (he’s about six feet tall) and thanked him for sharing some time with us. habits of successful peopleSir Richard Branson in Moscow, Russia. Photo by James Clear. The Habits of Successful People: What Makes the Difference? After speaking with our group, Branson sat on a panel with industry experts to talk about the future of business. As everyone around him was filling the air with business buzzwords and talking about complex ideas for mapping out our future, Branson was saying things like: “Screw it, just get on and do it.” Which was closely followed by: “Why can’t we mine asteroids?” As I looked up at that panel, I realized that the person who sounded the most simplistic was also the only one who was a billionaire. Which prompted me to wonder, “What’s the difference between Branson and everyone else in the room?” Here’s what I think makes all the difference: Branson doesn’t merely say things like, “Screw it, just get on and do it.” He actually lives his life that way. He drops out of school and starts a business. He signs the Sex Pistols to his record label when everyone else says they are too controversial. He charters a plane when he doesn’t have the money. When everyone else balks or comes up with a good reason for why the time isn’t right, Branson gets started. Start Now Branson is an extreme example, but we could all learn something from his approach. If you want to summarize the habits of successful people into one phrase, it’s this: successful people start before they feel ready. If there was ever someone who embodied the idea of starting before they felt ready to do so, it’s Branson. The very name of his business empire, Virgin, was chosen because when Branson and his partners started they were “virgins” when it came to business. Branson has started so many businesses, ventures, charities, and expeditions that it’s simply not possible for him to have felt prepared, qualified, and ready to start all of them. In fact, it’s unlikely that he was qualified or prepared to start any of them. He had never flown a plane and didn’t know anything about the engineering of planes, but he started an airline company anyway. If you’re working on something important, then you’ll never feel ready. A side effect of doing challenging work is that you’re pulled by excitement and pushed by confusion at the same time. You’re bound to feel uncertain, unprepared, and unqualified. But let me assure you of this: what you have right now is enough. You can plan, delay, and revise all you want, but trust me, what you have now is enough to start. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to start a business, lose weight, write a book, or achieve any number of goals… who you are, what you have, and what you know right now is good enough to get going. We all start in the same place: no money, no resources, no contacts, no experience. The difference is that some people — the winners — choose to start anyway. If you’re having trouble getting started, then read this article: How to Stop Procrastinating. No matter where you are in the world and regardless of what you’re working on, I hope you’ll start before you feel ready. http://blog.bufferapp.com/the-habits-of-successful-people-they-start-before-they-feel-ready |

Sal C: You've bee deceived by a bloggerhttp://wafflesatnoon.com/2013/12/22/did-francis-all-religions-are-true/ The article is false. Let’s first look at what is being claimed. In an article published by Diversity Chronicle, we read that Pope Francis announced that “All religions are true, because they are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them.” Francis also allegedly discussed atheists, stating, “Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well, and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity.” Regarding intolerance, the Pope is quoted as saying Catholicism is now “a modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance.” pope-francis2 Diversity Chronicle The source of this news item is Diversity Chronicle. The disclaimer on the website states, “The original content on this blog is largely satirical.” Third Vatican Council There has not been a Third Vatican Council. The Second Vatican Council occurred back in the 1960′s and such an event now would receive significant press. Bottom Line Pope Francis did not claim that “all religions are true” at a Third Vatican Council. No such event occurred, and the source of this report is a satirical website. |
