samsobo24:There are areas where Ghana is better than Nigeria and vice-versa. Ghana has a higher standard of living and is generally cleaner and has lower levels of crime and unrest. it also has relatively better educational institutions. |
Mk17:i am only using it as an example of what is expected of 21 century mode of educational system. university are adopting 21 century technology to augment education. most of the private university in europe are much more smaller, some are even on a borrowed fercility. it is much more about impact now rather than cosmetic dressing. i can tell you, no new UniversIty in the usa has a size of covenant university. university are moving away from that old model. it is not fashionable. and as for engineering, the feild should be your classrom. this is why germany is doing well in engineering feild. industry are partnering with higher institution to train student.only few theoretical tranning are received in classroom. so you are not abreast with how social Media has become quite important in the realms of staying updated on everything that is happening around or in the world, that is education. on its own.and to your last point, it is not well thought out. political structure is diffrent from education structure. one is citadel of learning and another one is used for policy making. |
Mk17:Not necessary, gigantic building is of the past, now in 21 century, university are making the use of technology to replace the expenses that comes with building infrastructure . london open , Malaysia open uni are few of the example i can mention. people are augmenting learning with technology, replacing the old fashion of building gigantic hotel in the name of a university with single building. i can made mention of so many private uni in Europe in that category having quality infrastructure is a step in the right direction. we will get to other step with time.As an engineer, the best place to work your pratical is in the field not classrom, what you need is school placement and not school building. school will do well by placing you to company or industry that will develop your career. what matter most in building is a conducive environment not cosmetic makeup. |
hustla:You just have to quote me to ensure you made a point . The element is there, it can't be hiding. |
hustla:ok.....i thought i am interacting with a literate. |
hustla:Goggle is your best friend. It’s roughly a square about 4 city blocks (0.4 miles) on each side, with another appendange south of the square consisting of gymnasium buildings, a soccer field, baseball field, track, health center and some physical plant buildings, which together are about half the total area of the square. http://www.caltech.edu/content/caltech-glance |
Mk17:when you hear the word quality of learning next time, it comprises the serene of enviroment, the standard of their degree curriculum and lastly the research and assignment quality. All this determined quality. london met do well in this area than any of our glorious hotel in the name of a university. maintaining infrasture is different from building gigantic infrastructure. |
darfay:You are yet to answer me the simple question. what is wrong with it? or Do you take hourse. dounge. |
darfay:i am neither a muslim nor a christain. so what is wrong with the library. must it be like charraton hotel. |
Mk17:i am educating you on the stupidity of looking into infrastructure instead of quality. london met can't compete covenant infrasture wise talkless of American university of nigeria. yes the serene and the environment in which the achool is located is very fine and beautiful. and thank to the uk goverment. but the achool itself can't stand some of the wasteful uni we have in Nigeria but do well than any of them academically. |
Jaynom:Go and check it yourself. i am sure you haven't been out of your enviroment before. not just London metropolitan, convenant had nore infrastructure than many european private UniversIty. . |
snowball11:i just said it is far more smaller than my secondary school. goggle is your best friend. it is a university i know. |
CodeTemplar:All i need to build a university now assuming i am interested is just a single building. we are in the 21 century, Social media can even be used for my school fest. it will be a great way to increase the attendance and engagement of student in any event. i can even set up a social display at the single block building area and run a social media wall on that display. social media wall can be used as an aggregated feed solution of social media posts from sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google Plus that are showcased on any digital signage display. Posts using event related hashtags or handles are channeled to the display, which refresh in new content automatically. that is just the tips and i think this idea is more creative than wasting lands that should be used for agriciltural or real estate purpose to simply building a playground in the name of university. |
AutoReportNG:Gone are the days, when too much cash are put out to set up university, it is not the structure that matter , but the impact of the education that will be acquired. currently, computer had replace the purpose of building more infrastructure, it has even give more space for larger number of student. so the current structure of that present school doesn't matter. we need to do more with less. mismanagement does not grow economy. if i show you some old public secondary school in germany, not even oba awon university ( OAU) can stand it. but that does not make oau worthless. or lesser university. |
AutoReportNG:There is nothing to learn from being wasteful. it is not how far, it is how well. london metropolitan university had far less infrastructure compare to convenant yet it is well rank above any university in Nigeria. we need to stop the idea of judging book by its cover. |
Dollyak:when computer can now augment learning or even replace infrastructure. why should they be wasteful? |
CodeTemplar:Do you want them to be wasteful. one of the best ranking university globally is not even up to my secondary school.california institute of technology.in size and space |
Jonraid:is there any problem asking you. |
Jonraid:what are you learning from Nigeria. |
dadark:They look more like shuwa arab, ,North eastern Nigeria |
Just30:You are going to far. in Nigeria, graduate receive 19, 800 as monthly allowance which is roughly 240 cedis for national service while his counterpart in Ghana is taking home 500 cedis that is roughly 45.000 NAIRA. |
ednited:i love your women. i mean Ethiopia women. wouldn't mind to marry to one some day |
Danielnino00:let me give you the gist, The US had been trying hard to enter into Ghana's energy sector. just this week, The government of Ghana postponed the takeover of ECG by a US company. And this is how the US responds for the delay in taking over ECG. amd For two years now, this government has not yielded to their demands, and they are using that deportation as a an excuse to obligate the current administration. This government is trying to prevent unnecessary firms in the energy sector. Ask yourself are Ghanaians the only illegal foreigners in US? Trump is a bully. That is how international politics is played. You create a leverage against someone you are negotiating with, and use that leverage to get what you want. And they intentionally release this statement after the purported election violence, so that Ghanaians would allude such a sanction to the irregularities in the bye elections. So as to hide their true intentions and motives. |
obaaderemi:Ghana is doing well better than Jamaica and as for Singapore., the possibility is there if government continue with his fine policy. |
Just30:since the Menzgold fiasco as well as financial distresses in many other credit institutions. people are running to demand for their cash .The Bank of Ghana also on its part has poorly refereed the game – only coming in to rescue or punish as an option of last resort. But the withdrawals have not stopped. Depositors continue to flock financial institutions with just one demand – to claim their cash deposits. this is can further weaken the weak currency and hence affect economy. What is the quick solution to this predicament? |
Just30:what about overtaking Singapore . have you ever think abiut how that is possible. |
Just30:i think we should not let Nigeria be the bench mark for measuring Ghana , after all, Nigeria is just a third world country like Ghana. i am a citizens of both countriy. Nigeria and as a Ghanaian, i see the same problems that is present in Ghana. hungry people, children selling on the streets instead of being in school, teen age sex workers, joblessness, huge unemployment of the youths, crimes and corrupt leaders, brain drain, every young man or woman wanting to leave the home land for some land beyond Africa. if these are the same problem the two nations are faced with, let some one tell me what then makes Ghana better than Nigeria. Though Ghana is slightly doing better, Nigeria shouldn't be standard of measurement. if there is anything in Nigeria that i value. it is amount of physical cash exchanging hands everyday either in the local buisness or cooperate office. only few country in africa can boost of that Even MTN make more in Nigeria than south africa. |
Kazikazi:by what i read from the map, zambia isn't closer to south africa as i thought. |
theenchanter:You are frustrating my effort to educate you. |
Kazikazi:Whao, interesting. i will like to tour that rought some day. |
Kazikazi:i think he is part of the Casablanca group led by kwame inkrumah. mother Africa really lost a grear child. how close is Tanzania to south africa by air . is it connectable by train? |
theenchanter:What i did was to expose you to the flaws you are making. and i hope you have learnt. banks create money simple. per capital income can become a true index of development if the Mode income i.e. the income with the largest frequency is considered. That will tell what most of the people earn and comparatively, the disparities would be showcased as well and that is why i use japan as an example to justify that. are we talking about d bricklayers or labourers before I even go furtheri just sincerely said manual labourers working as bricklayers.. Japan devalued their currency cos japan is an industrial country, it'll help them sell their products at lower price to d world, importation will also be kept at bay since other nations don't want to run at lost.permit me to educate you here. It’s a hangover from the collapse of the yen at the end of World War 2. remember the time when the French franc was at about 1,200 to the pound (GBP) but under de Gaulle they knocked two noughts off just like Ghana did and renamed the currency the New Franc. The position of the Italian lira was broadly comparable. Both France and Italy now have the Euro. Think of the yen as being equivalent to a penny, rather than a dollar, and the exchange rate makes a lot more sense. This is pretty much how it works in Japan anyway (there are 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 yen coins - paper denominations start at 1000). People didn't create double market but d central bank after crude oil slump that affected external revenue, which of course, a policy of d govt.you just answer the question, government policy made people create double market value. The bank rate and the blank market rate. Parallel market was in d interest of investors and biz men, they buy dollar at a lower rate but Greediness of bankers spoilt it, when central bank sells to them at lower rate, they in turn sell it to BDCs at higher rate but lower than central bank's benchmark for BDCs.Nah, Government weak policy rather spoil it. we can always put the blame on oil. LOL |

income per capita can never be a true index of development. It's like dividing a country's revenue by the number of people in d country, how does that shows real development to d average man on the street?
