As promised in my post "Microwave Oven And Cancer. The Untold Story" ( you should try and read that post if you missed it). I said someday I would give you a healthier alternative to microwave ovens yeah?
So, this one goes out to all of you, husbands, sons, and brothers who know nothing about convection ovens or microwaves, except that when you put raw or frozen food in, you wait a few minutes, hear a “ding” and delicious meal comes out; and wives, daughters and sisters who are sure there is a difference, but are too shy to ask for explanation.

I am particularly happy to inform you that there is a child of these two appliances, hybrid if you like, called The Halogen Oven.
The main characteristics of the Halogen oven is that it’s used mainly for baking and cooking. When you want something roasted, grilled, brown, caramelized and crispy, this type of oven should be your first choice. It utilizes a halogen lamp as its heating element to generated hot, dry air which is circulated by built-in fans.


This way, it produces lower temperatures and distributes heat evenly, making the process of cooking faster, compared to conventional ovens. Halogen Ovens are usually smaller than other ovens, as you can see in the picture above, therefore they take less space in your beloved kitchen.

Microwave, on the other hand, uses radio-frequency energy to heat waters and fats, which cooks food from the inside. These waves are causing molecules to vibrate which then causes the temperature to rise.

Exact term for this appliance is a microwave oven, which is funny because it is not oven at all. It is most commonly used for re-heating earlier prepared food, without having to cook it.

The good thing is using the Halogen Oven is incredibly simple so that anyone can learn it, even children. Also, it works very fast, and it consumes less electricity than other types of ovens and just about same electricity with Microwave oven.

THE BREAKTHROUGHS
Three major breakthroughs were achieved in developing the ultrafast rechargeable aluminium-ion batteries:
1. discovery of the perfect combination of aluminium and graphite as the battery cell
2. the whole battery cell is as supple as paper, and can be mass produced for various demands and product attributes
3. the stability and durability which make the battery safe even if damaged by an external force.
This breakthrough battery technology will compete with the traditional lead acid battery when applied in large energy storage devices, lightweight electric scooters and motorized bicycles. In addition to small smart devices, aluminium-ion batteries could be used to store renewable energy in electricity grids, electric motorcycles and bicycles.

The following error codes, meaning and solutions will help you to diagnose your LG front loader washing machine issues when and where ever they may occur. It is also important to state that this is however to help you solve the less technical problems (simple DIY) without needing to call in the technicians. It however does not mean that you could fix every error yourself as some may be more deep rooted and may require a professional technician to resolve.

ERROR CODE, MEANING SOLUTION.

O.E: Drain Error: Washer unable to drain. It can be caused by a clogged drain pump filter or a twisted drain host.

1. Check to be sure the drain host is not clogged or twisted then run a spin cycle to confirm that the error has been resolved.

2. If the drain is not twisted, then run a spin cycle by doing the following; Power, Press Spin Speed till High is highlighted, Press Start
and then listen for a humming sound. That shows the washer is fine now.

I.E: Inlet Water Supply Error: Indicates washer is unable to fill with water. May be caused by a closed supply tap, twisted or
damaged inlet hoses, or clogged inlet filters.

1. Be sure to open both water taps fully and resume normal operation.

2. Straighten out any kinks that may be in the water lines. And if the inlet line is damaged, consider replacement.

U.E: Unbalanced Load Error: This indicates that the load in the washer is not balanced due to some possible reasons such as small
loads, single bulky items such as jeans, large single items such as Sheets, blankets etc.

1. Re-arrange the items in the drum and restart the cycle again. If that is done right, the error should clear.

C.L: This indicates Child Lock is active. Although this is not an error but its function is enough to cause you some level of panic because
it de-activates the control panel temporarily and thus the inability to adjust settings.

1. Press and hold the Child lock button for 3seconds to either activate or de-activate.

L.E: Locked Motor Drive Error: This indicates that the motor is locked, due to a possible heavy wash load.

1. Adjust the load and turn the washer back on, else…

2. Reset the washer using the following steps:

i. Turn off the washer and unplug
ii. Press and hold Start/Pause for 5 seconds
iii.Plug and switch on the washer and start a new cycle.

D.E: Door Error: this indicates that the washer door was unable to lock

1. Press in on the door firmly to lock. Else…

2. Do a reset using the method above.

C.E: Over-current Error: this indicates that there has been an over current in the electrical circuit of the motor. Usually caused by a
short-circuit, loose connection, ground fault or power surge.

1. Unplug the washer for 30 seconds, plug it back in and run a normal cycle.

F.E: Over-filling Error: This indicates that the washer is overfilling usually as a result of faulty water valve.

1.Close the water taps and Press the Spin Speed until NO SPIN is selected.
2.Press the START/PAUSE Button.
3.Once the washer has drained, restart the wash cycle.

t.E: Thermistor Error: this indicates that a heating error has occurred, usually caused by faulty thermistor.

1.Unplug the washer and wait for 30 seconds.
2.Plug and power back on the washer and repeat the process in the F.E and restart once the washer is drained.

Sud

Sud is not an error but indicates that there may be too many suds in the washer. This can add 2-hours to the cycle time to reduce
the sud. The washer may stop if too many suds are detected during spinning to prevent leaking. Do not add more than the
manufacturers recommended amount of detergent.

Few of such bulbs are the light bulb in Forth-Worth, Texas reportedly installed in September 21 1908 and another in Gasnick Supply, a New York hardware Store on Second Avenue, between 52nd and 53rd streets..Installed in 1912. The best washing machines of 2018 are going to be judged largely on their eco-friendliness. Experience is the best teacher they say, but it is even cheaper when it is other people’s experience. Yeah, call me ruthless but who is willing to make a purchase mistake in an unfriendly economy like ours huh? From the simplest top loaders to the multiple functionality front loader washing machines, I give you a professional insight on things you ought to know before you get that new washing machine. But first, questions like: what do I want in a washing machine? What is my biggest fear in buying one? All needs to be answered by you, then use that answer to cross examine the points I will raise in this article.
So many factors make a washer “cheap” or better put, ECOnomical. And this could run from cost of purchase through cost of running all the way down to cost of maintenance! E.g, if the cost of purchase is very low and cost of running and maintenance remain very high, you will eventually pay more with time. And trust me, that is not a smart move in 2018. So consider the following for your new washing machine:
Energy Consumption:
Never underestimate this factor. On the average, a 6-10kg fully automatic top/ Front loader washing machine has a rated input range of 600-1200watts (for the most power efficient). Now there is a 3 quick maths you can do yourself. A certain electricity distribution firm in Lagos charges ₦27.2/Kwh for the A1 tariff class which you likely belong. If for some reason you use 10kwh/month, depending on your new appliances power ratings, your consumption would grow and so is the pressure on the grid, the bill on your meter and am sure you can calculate the cost. Good news however is that it is still in your power to control. Also consider buying a washer with a hot and cold water host inlet separately, this gives you the chance to decide whether you want to use the coil in the appliance or not for your hot water wash. Imagine running a 800watts appliance for 2hours and perhaps 3 times a month. Let me give you a hint… 60watts bulb for 6hrs = 360watts per day, add that to other appliances and continue from there. Interesting yeah?



Water consumption:
On the average, a washing machine fully loaded can consume as much as 50ltrs of water per wash cycle for the best eco- friendly washing machines as against over 100ltrs for a regular washing machine. What’s 100ltrs you say? I wouldn’t take you through the arithmetic but I bet you will pay more using electricity to pump your water in one year than you will pay for attention to my advice. And also not forgetting the eco-system hates waste. Buying a water saving washer will help reduce water wastage by over 2,000 gallons a year on the average.
Detergent Consumption:

In 2014, Samsung introduced the eco-bubble technology in their washing machines. This was in response to customer complaints of the previous designs that was made with no attention to detergent consumption. The eco-bubble technology enables the washer to completely dissolve the detergents by forming smooth lather and using the lather efficiently and effectively to clean the fabrics. What this achieved is that first, you save your detergents and save the environment from pollution, second is that the machine makes sure there are no detergent left-overs on your fabric and that helps your clothes stay longer without fading and weakening. So far, some innovative brands have also gone Eco.
Brand Reliability:
OK hold on now, this isn’t about my preferred brand; this is more about general acceptability. It’s not my job to make guesses anyway. All the increments that happened in the last one year in lagos is what I call political grand theft auto. To think Mr Ambode knows the state of the Nigerian economy and it's harsh realities on businesses and struggling citizens but yet insisted on those increases is the highest point of insensitivity.
