Chelsea’s head coach, Frank Lampard already has a ‘clear plan’ that will make the London club sell midfielder, Jorginho this summer’s transfer window.

This assertion was clearly made by former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville.

The Italian midfielder, Jorginho only made his first appearance for Chelsea since the Premier League restart in their 3-2 win against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old, Jorginho who was signed by current Juventus coach, Maurizio Sarri, made a brief cameo at the end of their win at Palace.

But Neville believes Lampard is ready to sell the Italy international this summer.

“You have to think that he – Jorginho is being managed out of Stamford Bridge,” Neville told Sky Sports.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the suspension of the embattled acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ibrahim Magu, from office. The suspension follows the investigation of allegations of gross misconduct against him on Monday.

According to available information, Magu’s suspension is to allow for probe into allegations against him.

The embattled EFCC boss appeared before a presidential probe panel headed by retired Justice Ayo Salami, who is investigating the allegations against him.

The immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayo Fayose has mocked the embattled acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ibrahim Magu over his ongoing travail.

Ibrahim Magu is presently detained by the Justice Ayo Salami led panel in the Aso Rock Villa over various allegations of misconduct.

Recall the EFCC’s embattled acting Chairman Magu victimised the former governor over allegation of corruption leveled against him while serving as Ekiti state governor.

Ayo Fayose was immediately invited by EFCC officials for quizzing and was subsequently detained in EFCC’s custody.

Fayose willingly reported himself at the EFCC’s office in Lagos with an inscription on his shirt ‘EFCC I’M HERE.’

The former governor Fayose has now taken to his official Twitter handle to make a mockery of Magu in reminiscence of his treatment in the hands of Magu having the left office.

A Nigerian man has suffered mercilessly torture in the hands of some hooded drug barons in the Middle East, Pakistan.

A video, yesterday, has gone viral on social media after he was reportedly abandoned by his relative named ‘Andrew’ with drug lords as collateral and didn’t return.

A viral video shows a Nigerian man being beaten mercilessly, with his hands tied behind him as they flogged him. One of the hooded men later pointed a gun and pulled the trigger on him but narrowly missed his head.

He cried and said. “Andrew, look at what you put me through. Look at what you put your brother through. And you say I am your brother,” the Nigerian man cried in agony as they flogged him.

In the video, the man is heard crying and begging Andrew to show up.

He added that he has told his uncle to sell everything and pay “Nuruz.” He looked into the camera and repeated the plea to his uncle to come and bail him out.

The Nigerian man added that if the money Andrew owes the drug dealers is not paid before July 10, he will be executed.

One of the men is heard saying, “Next time I’m gonna shoot” while holding a gun to the Nigerian man’s head.

Vauhxx Rush Booker, a black man was almost lynched to death after he was attacked by a group of white men in Indiana, United States of America.

Vauhxx Rush Booker who narrated the incident on Facebook wrote that it happened on the Fourth of July near Lake Monroe on state-owned land on Saturday, July 5.

Video from the scene shows several white men holding Booker on the ground against a tree while two white women can be seen pleading with them to let him go. Some of the white men were also heard using racial slurs directed at the person filming the incident.

In a lengthy post, Booker said he decided to hang out with some friends to watch the lunar eclipse at Lake Monroe. On their way to the park, a white man who Booker described as “seemingly drunk,” and was wearing a shirt with a confederate flag printed on it, approached them.

“WE NOTICED HE BEGAN FOLLOWING US IN AN ATV AND WE STOPPED AS HE DROVE UP BEHIND US AND THEN STATED WE WERE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. WE RELAYED TO HIM THAT WE BELIEVED THE ORGANIZERS HAD RECEIVED PERMISSION FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS TO CROSS, BUT APOLOGIZED AND WENT ON TO OUR BEAUTIFUL SITE JUST OFF THE WATER WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. WHEN WE ARRIVED, WE TOLD THE EVENT ORGANIZER OF THE ENCOUNTER AND IT WAS RELAYED THAT THE INDIVIDUAL WASN’T THE ACTUAL PROPERTY OWNER AND THE ORGANIZER APOLOGIZED.” BOOKER WROTE.

As they decided to leave, Booker said more white men came to the scene and “quickly became aggressive,” telling them to take the trail. Moments later, the men attacked him and knocked him to the ground, where they pinned him down for several minutes.

“I tussled with the two and another one joined in, then two more,” he continued. “The five [men] were able to easily overwhelm me and got me to the ground and dragged me, pinning my body against a tree as they began pounding on my head and ripped off some of my hair, with several of them still on top of my body holding me down. At one point during the attack, one of the men jumped on my neck. I could feel both his feet and his full bodyweight land hard against my neck.”

Kuwait still one of the world’s wealthiest countries, is in a budget crunch so severe that it may have to soon begin leaning on a fund intended to prepare it for a future without oil.

Kuwait is running a deficit that could reach 40 percent of its economy this year, and unable to borrow due to a showdown between the government and parliament, Kuwait is running out of options. The General Reserve Fund has been tapped so aggressively that its liquid assets could come close to being depleted within the current fiscal year, or by April 2021.

That has attention turning to its Future Generations Fund, the world’s oldest sovereign wealth fund and estimated to be the fourth-largest globally. The savings vehicle is meant to secure the wellbeing of future generations of Kuwaitis, who probably won’t be able to rely on oil to sustain one of the world’s most prosperous populations.

One measure being discussed is halting a mandatory annual transfer of 10 percent of total revenue to the FGF in years when the government runs a deficit. An amendment to the existing law may also allow transferring as much as 25 percent in years of surplus. Another option is taking a loan from the FGF, which would be repaid, or for the fund to buy 2.2 billion dinars ($7.2 billion) of assets owned by the Treasury, in order to boost liquidity.

“You’re talking about a country where you have oil wealth and a sovereign fund and an educated population, you have so many things going for you,” said Abdulmajeed Al-Shatti, a Kuwait-based economic consultant who was previously chairman of the Kuwait Banking Association. “Unfortunately, we have mismanagement of fiscal policies and a lot of unnecessary subsidies.”

The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has strongly denied buying houses for his wives since his assumption of political office.

The minister made this known in reaction to a saharareporters publication, alleging him of buying three houses for his three wives in highbrow areas of the federal capital territory, Abuja.

The minister in a release made available to the media has described the report as ‘grave falsehood‘ and such should be disregarded.

The statement partly reads;

“Our attention has been drawn to the grave falsehood Published by controversial online media, Sahara Reporters against the person of Honourable Minister Dr Isa Ali Pantami. The online media has falsely accused him of procuring three houses within the period of his assumption of office,” the minister said in a statement by his spokesperson, Uwa Suleiman.

“For the purpose of setting the records straight, the Honourable Minister has not purchased a single property anywhere In the world, in the period he has been in office as a Minister. One of the apartments in the images published is one which the Honourable Minister has occupied since January 2017, more than two years before becoming a minister, while the other one is a house he rented since 17th December 2019. Two of the images are not even known to him.

“It is worthy of note that as a serving Minister, Dr. Pantami’s salaries and allowances fall below his earnings as a Professor at the International University Madinah Saudi Arabia, where he still holds the record of being the first Nigerian to lecture at that level. He only returned to Nigeria out of the zeal to contribute his quota to national development.

“Dr. Pantami is one of the few Nigerians who are driven by nothing, but an unequalled sense of patriotism and selfless service as demonstrated in his act of sacrifice, to answer the call to serve his country as a sign of his patriotism and selfless service. As a successful businessman in his own right who has been comfortable in life, he has carved a niche for himself in his character, deep sense of responsibility and successful feats.

“Dr. Pantami’s integrity and credibility precede him, and his fight against corruption in both official and personal capacities have become a reference point not only nationally, but globally.

“The general public is advised to ignore all attempts to slander the name and image of the Honourable Minister. In the same vein, we plead with the Nigerian media to deploy the strategies of investigative journalism and avoid false sensationalism in order to uphold the tenets of the noble pen profession.“

Buhari is Father of the Nation, If Not He Could Have Dealt With Wike And Fayose – Femi Adesina

Mr Femi Adesina says President Muhammadu Buhari refused to move against Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose because of his role as the father of the nation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said his principal did not make a move because he is a father willing to tolerate his many children, irrespective of their differing idiosyncrasies, propensities, and predilections.

In an article published on his website, Mr. Femi Adesina said Wike was particularly combative, truculent, if not at times insulting; but the President did not let that influence his decision.

Femi Adesina argues that Buhari did what was right, fair and just, irrespective of party affiliations, or personal inclinations.

It came like a bolt out of the blue. Early this week, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, issued an advertisement, which went in a completely different direction compared to what he had always said of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Wike we knew was either usually crying wolf where there was none, alleging that the Federal Government wanted to kill him, or claiming that he was not answerable to the central government at Abuja in any way, or even pontificating that the President and his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), had failed the country in diverse ways.

If not for the maturity, and the avuncular attitude of President Buhari to all state governors, it would have been easy for one to conclude that he and Wike were enemies. Forsworn ones.

There was also the then Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who had formed a tag team with Wike in the anti-Buhari tendency. The President could have dealt with them in many ways, either overtly or covertly, but he let them be. He was a father ready to tolerate his many children, irrespective of their differing idiosyncrasies, propensities and predilections.

A couple of weeks back, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), of which President Buhari is the Chairman, had approved the refund of N148 billion to five states in the country for repair of Federal roads. They included Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Ondo and Osun.

Of the five states, only Ondo and Osun belong to the APC. The other three are of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Rivers, under Wike, was particularly combative, truculent, if not at times insulting. But the President did not let that influence his decision. He did what was right, fair and just, irrespective of party affiliations, or personal inclinations.

Rivers State got the highest figure of N78.9 billion, and I remember some people asking me why the President should give such money to a governor who would call him names the next day. But that was where Wike surprised everybody. Last Monday, he issued newspaper advertisements with the title, ‘Thank You Our Dear President.’

Dear President. False? True. Was it the Printer’s Devil? Not so. The Governor boldly appended his signature to the document.

He thanked the President for approving the refund, noting: “Mr President has by this remarkable and heart-warming gesture shown not only your love for the Government and people of Rivers State, but also, demonstrated expressly that you are, indeed, a President for every State of the Federation and all Nigerians.”
False? True. Printer’s Devil? Not so.

The Governor went on:

“I assure you that the Rivers State Government is willing and ever ready to cooperate and partner with the Federal Government to advance the developmental aspirations of Rivers State in particular, and our nation in general.”

On seeing the above, I am sure millions of people must have cleaned their eyes, wondering if they were reading correctly. Having satisfied themselves that there were no cataracts, they went ahead:
“I wish to, therefore, appeal to Mr President to kindly oblige us a State visit when invited, to see what we have accomplished for the State and our people with the money.”

Wike, inviting President Buhari on a State visit. False? True. Printer’s Devil? Not so. He meant every word of it, and therefore appended his signature.

Many times, I had responded as spokesman to the President, to wolf cries by the Rivers State Governor. At a point, I began to ignore such cries, just as I did to Fayose before him. Mr President simply took all the wild allegations in his strides, and continued working for the country, all parts of the country.

In January 2018, there had been vicious killings in some parts of the country. States affected were; Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Yobe, Rivers and Zamfara. The President decided to embark on sympathy and solidarity visits to the states. All the Governors were receptive, except Wike, who said the visit was a smokescreen, meant to revive the dying APC in Rivers State.

“Apart from Jesus Christ, we don’t know of anyone who has risen a dead thing. APC is a dead party in Rivers State. No matter how you fast and pray, it will never wake up, “ [/i]he had said.

Again, he declared at another time, talking of the President: “We are the only state that the Federal Government refused to pay us our money used to execute Federal projects, because I don’t go to see him in the night, and I won’t go. He is not my friend, he is not doing well…”

When about 20 people were killed on New Year Day 2018, in Omoku area of the state, and the President wanted to visit, Wike demurred. He said there were killings everyday all over the country, and it meant the President must visit every State on a daily basis.

The circle has turned fully round, and Governor Wike is inviting the President to visit. Femi Adesina says he’s “a President for every State of the Federation and all Nigerians.” Wonderful!

Some people say it is N78.9 billion that is working, and the Governor is clearly inebriated by that windfall. But I don’t think so. Rivers is by no means a poor state. The amount is handsome, no doubt, but the state is oil rich, and can hold her own when it comes to finances. I rather choose to believe that Governor Wike had been playing a curious kind of politics all along, and now, fairness and justice have touched him in a positive way.

“He is not my friend, he is not doing well, ‘ he had said. Now, he is calling the man “our dear President “ asking him to be “assured of our profound esteem.” Wonders, indeed, shall never end.

There are millions upon millions of us round the country, who love President Buhari, and believe in him. We are called Buharists, and we have no apologies. They abuse us, deride and malign us, at times, they even threaten us. But we remain who and what we are: Buharists. Come rain or shine.

Why do we love the President, and unconditionally too. Is he a flawless, perfect man? Does he run a perfect, flawless government? Not exactly so, and I’ve not seen any in this world. But we stand by him, through thick and thin. Like Dr Okolo Oteri Eme, one of the Buhari Amazons posted on Facebook earlier this week, “We do not support him because we like him but because he gives us solid, verifiable reasons to love him on a daily basis.”

I see a man with solid integrity, honesty, sense of accountability, in a forest of crooked, perverse people, and you ask me not to follow him? I will follow him from Benin to Beijing, from Cape to Cairo, anywhere, everywhere.

I see a man bringing enduring change to agriculture, to infrastructure; roads, rail, bridges, airports, laying a $2.8 billion gas pipeline, money he could have craftily diverted for himself and for generations unborn, and you ask me not to believe in him? #We Believe! Ask Maryam Shetty, another Buhari Amazon.

I am glad Governor Wike has now seen what we had seen long ago, some of us as far back as 1983. And he has realized that it was time to stop the kind of politics he had played all the while.

My friend, Lorenz Mba, summed it all up in a message he sent to me on Wednesday. “For those who constantly maligned PMB, and called him all sorts of unprintable names, N78.9 billion is your answer. You simply won’t give those you hate N78.9 billion. I see that this gesture has truly humbled Nyesom Wike.

Politics is all about propaganda. I salute PMB for his show of maturity in all these grandstanding by Southeast and South-south politicians. Go to Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Onitsha-Enugu, 2nd Niger Bridge today. Talk was cheap. PMB showed up. Enough of rhetoric, Biko.”

We said it that President Buhari hates no part of the country. He has come to serve, and not to be served. He is fair and equitable to all. But they said our mouths were smelling, and we should shut up. Governor Wike has now vindicated us. We are glad. We Believe!
