borntoexcel2000: The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari last Friday, has debunked the rumour gaining traction online on Monday that he has resigned.
Onnoghen, whom President Muhammadu Buhari replaced with the next most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Tanko Mohammed, as Acting CJN, debunked the rumour in a statement on Monday.
The statement was signed by his media aide, Awassam Bassey, who described the CJN’s rumoured resignation as “fake news circulated by mischief makers.”
“Mischief makers are still circulating this fake news. Once again, no truth in it whatsoever. The Hon CJN, Hon Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, GCON, has not resigned,” Bassey said.
The rumour came less than 24 hours to the emergency meeting summoned by the National Judicial Council to deliberate on Onnoghen’s suspension and Muhammad’s emergence as the Acting CJN.
The Buhari administration has since Friday, come under scathing and widespread criticism locally and from the international community for being ill-timed, coming in the eve of the imminent general elections.

Press Statement
PDP: Uyo Rally Shows Buhari Has Lost All Political Footholds
The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) says the unprecedented crowd that received its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at the State Presidential rally in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state on Monday, is a direct statement to President Muhammadu Buhari that he has come to the end of the road.
The PPCO recalls that the energetic crowd at the rally made mockery of the scanty attendance at President Buhari’s much hyped Presidential Flag-off rally at the same venue on December 28 last year, and further confirmed to Mr. President that he no longer commands the followership of Nigerians.
The fact that Atiku Abubakar’s state rallies had always had much more crowd than President Buhari’s campaign flag-off in Uyo, which has the attendance of his supporters from all the states of the federation, further confirms that Nigerians have decided on Atiku Abubakar as the next President of our country.
The deafening cheers, enthusiasm and passion with which the people received Atiku Abubakar in Uyo as against the cold response and sneers that greeted Mr. President at his campaign flag-off, also serves as an eye opener to him that he is only being deceived into thinking that he has any form of support in the Niger Delta region.
The PPCO further recalls the pitiable sight where President Buhari could only slur and failed to articulate any clear message as his rented crowd, which refused to carry APC brooms, abandoned him and started leaving the venue while he was still making his speech.
From the rousing reception being accorded to Atiku Abubakar in all our rallies in the various geo-political zones and states he has so far visited, it is clear that Nigerians, irrespective of states, ethnicity, sectional and political affiliations have attained a consensus on Atiku Abubakar as our next President.
The PPCO therefore counsels President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to note the tide and end their desperate shenanigans including the assault on the opposition and our democratic institutions, as such will never change the determination by Nigerians to vote them out of office come, February 16, 2019.

The man who condemned the manner in which students are being allegedly flogged in the Army-operated school, narrated on how his classmates were beaten for not making noise and also stated that hardly is there any student of the school that is not brutally beaten in their 6-year duration in school.
He wrote:
Command Secondary Schools should be reevaluated. They flog and beat their students in a manner that is so inhumane. When I was there, I was flogged countless times till I bled. 6 years of learning in fear and terror. No command student hasn’t bled from flogging before.
I remember my first day in command as a js1 student. I was spinning that ring sweet thingy. I think we called it blay blay das. A teacher came in and felt the appropriate punishment for a noiseless, harmless fun was 7 strokes of a heavy cane. Lmao. Command=hell.

Politics › Re: Heavy Protest Rocks Lagos Over Onnoghen As Nigerians Hail Buhari’s Courage by verifiablefacts: 7:50pm On Jan 28, 2019 |
ToriTori247: Protesters on Monday paralyzed commercial activities in Lagos State in support of President Muhammdu Buhari's decision to suspend the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
The protesters, who carried placards with various inscriptions, declared that Onnoghen lacks moral standing to remain in office as CJN.
Comrade Festus Akintola, Convener of the protest, said Justice must take its full course to serve as a deterrent to others that it is no longer business as usual.
He said, "We have all gathered here to express our disgust with the actions of some segment of the country that have viewed the action of the president in placing the Chief Justice of Nigeria on suspension for false declaration of assets in contravention of the Code of Conduct Bureau Act for public office holders in the country.
"Nigeria is not a country where anyone should be viewed as above the law as the law is no respecter of persons. And what an irony that the chief law officer of the country would violate the law and would still want to evade justice. If that should ever happen, then Nigeria is no longer a country but a banana republic.
"We stand in absolute solidarity with our dear and amiable president who has risen in defense of the country by suspending the Chief Justice of the country and thereby sending a strong message to all that no matter how highly placed, once you violate the law, there would be consequences.
"We are also at a loss as to what case or position some people to want to canvass in a situation as glaring as this. Are they trying to deny the fact that the Chief Justice of Nigeria did not commit any offense? Are they trying to say that the president didn’t do the right thing by asking the Chief Justice to proceed on suspension pending the determination of the suit before the Code of Conduct Tribunal?
"We wish to state that it amounts to moral bankruptcy for the Chief Justice to cite “forgetfulness” as the reason for not declaring a part of his estate. And we now wonder how someone of such high standing would think he can take over 180 million Nigerians for a ride.
"And quite ironically some ethnic and religious champions have taken turns to give the actions of the president all manners of ethnic and religious coloration at the detriment of the fact of the matter.
"But they shall be all put to shame because the majority of Nigerians are with the president and supports wholeheartedly the action of the president in the quest to rid the judiciary of corrupt elements such as the suspended Chief Justice.
"In Nigeria today, under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari, we have indeed seen how and what it takes to fight the cancerous corruption. That is what President Muhammadu Buhari has displayed in the bold action of his.
"We are all gathered here despite our busy schedules to show solidarity to the man of the people. The man who has the interest of the country at heart. The man who has dared the path where no one dares venture. The man that has an unshaken belief in the unity of Nigeria. The man who says a yes and it is a yes. A man who would not dip his hands in government coffers and a man who has shown us what it takes to have integrity in a country like ours.
"The case of the Chief Justice of Nigeria presents us with one of such instances in which our president has risen in defense of the country.
"And it takes more than a commitment and belief in the national development agenda for such actions to protect the people from dubious and corrupt minded individuals such as the suspended Chief Justice Walter Onnoghnen.
"We are angry at the audacity if Justice Walter Onnoghnen to insult our intelligence as a people by wanting to whip up ethnic and religious sentiments through paid political jobbers.
"If Justice Walter Onnoghen has any atom of morals as the Chief Justice of the country, the rational thing for him to have done was to honorably resign from office to save the judicial arm of the country the shame and denigration that has it brought upon us.
"So bad is this case that Nigeria has become a laughing stock among countries. And the ethnic champions do not see anything wrong with it the shame Justice Walter Onnoghen has brought upon our country.
"We support President Muhammadu Buhari wholeheartedly in the fight against corruption in the judiciary. We are consequently of the firm opinion that if the judiciary is not sanitized, then we might be in for considerable trouble." Lagosians no dey disappoint at all,na dia sense finish, yeye PDP. |

Blacksodje: The Chamber of the Nigerian Senate The Nigerian Senate has filed a case at the Supreme Court to seek clarification on the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.
Relying on an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), President Muhammadu Buhari last Friday suspended the chief justice replacing him with another Supreme Court justice, Tanko Mohammed.
On Monday, the Senate approached the apex court seeking its interpretation on whether President Buhari acted within the provision of the constitution in his suspension of Mr Onnoghen.
The Senate also wants the court to determine whether the action of the president does amount to usurpation of the powers of the Senate as provided for in Section 292 of the constitution.
The section states conditions for removal of a chief justice but fails to clarify the difference between temporary removal and permanent removal.
“Following the filing of the case, the matter of the suspension of the CJN which is the main issue for which the Senate had planned to reconvene tomorrow, has become subjudiced,” a statement signed by Yusuph Olaniyonu, media aide to Senate President Bukola Saraki says.
“Therefore, in line with the standing rules of the Senate not to debate issues that are already pending before the court, the reconvening of the Senate tomorrow has been put off. The previous adjournment of the Senate till February 19, 2019, stays

Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has asked Justice Walter Onnoghen to quit the bench, following the allegations levelled against him at the code of conduct tribunal.
The human rights activist made this call on Sunday while featuring as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He said, “The government should as a matter of urgency, lift the suspension on the Chief Justice since the Chief Justice as so much to on his own admitted that he did not declare his assets, he should do the needful by calling it quits”.

Falana said after the suspension has been lifted, the Chief Justice should quit the bench because he has already admitted that he failed in his duty to declare his asset as required by the constitution.
The Senior Advocate further argued that the Executive and the Judiciary arms of government have failed Nigerians with regards to the case of Justice Walter Onnoghen.
He said it was wrong for President Muhammadu Buhari to have suspended Justice Onnoghen based on an ex parte order of the code of conduct tribunal.
He said by so doing the President did not follow due process, stressing that the government must learn to obey the rule of law.
“You can’t fight corruption without following due process,” Falana said.

faithfull18: A lot of people went to school but they aren't educated. Not everyone who has sagged breasts are promiscuous as a lot assume they are.
Weight fluntuations can make breasts sag. For someone who can't maintain a stable weight, today she is big, the breasts grow bigger. When such person reduces in size, the breasts reduces/shrinks too. If the weight reduction is drastic, then you can imagine what happens to the breasts.
For ladies, who have big breasts, it tends to sag faster due to size and weight.
Sleeping on the breasts can make them sag too.
A whole of other reasons why breasts sag but we are always quick to bodyshame people which isn't good.
Back to the topic, ladies need to cover up more whether they have a perfect body or not. supporters club |

hadjipapiey: In the time past as old as ancient, names are regarded as a symbolic means of identification, Ditto names of things and objects.
We however, by the way of church CHRISTENING, TRADITIONALLY, or in the way of Islam which is called AQEEQA, have a name given to us which connotes different meaning and at the same time expecting resultant positive effect of the name of the BEARER.
Sometimes, either by ignorance or by duress a child may be named a nomenclature that is archaic, doesn't have good meaning. In the west are names of Traditional deities, or objects whereby the bearer,as he or she grows older and wiser they despise those names. Vis-à-vis the UK and US .
We hear of different names like AJANLEKOKO, OGUNGBRMI, OYALEKE, ERINJOGUNOLA, BLIND, STONE, KEY Etc..
The question is Are you cool with your name and the meaning it connotes? If no, are considering changing it?
