DandeNumeruno: I know he has had his financial troubles, but I remember him talking about how he lean towards fun b-movies (and occasionally artsy movie), because it's more fun and relaxed than big budget productions, and he has freedom to do what he wants with the character. Compare to Bruce Willis who films for like 1 day, and thereafter goes home with $1 million tax free for his troubles, Nic is the consummate professional.
Some of Nic Cage straight-to-dvds are hidden gems. I've watched quite a good number of them, and in every one, Cage gave his 100%.
Mandy, Color Out of Space, Kill Chain, Between Worlds, The Frozen Ground, Seeking Justice, Mom & Dad, Trespass...
I rate these movies very highly. You should try them sometime. Low budget straight-to-dvd movies don't necessarily equate to trash. I really liked Mandy, It's the perfect example of style over substance. Have you watched Beyond The Black Rainbow? It's from the same director. |

Karleb: That picture did not do justice to his face. In Fallout, Tom Cruise looked like a fellow in his 30s.
I had to check his age only to be shocked.
Even Paul Rudd (and man) is in his early 50s, he looks like a fellow in his 30s too.
I think the correct term is not baby face, it's not because their good look either.
These guys just have good genes that makes them look younger than their age in appearance.
I believe it's the greatest gift of nature. Agreed. |

JackBizzle: Una don start again. Tom Cruise does not have a baby face. The guy is just handsome.
Tom Cruise looked more mature when he started doing action movies. Before mission impossible 1 in 1996, he has many drama, romance and romantic comedies under his belt.
Before top gun in 1986, he already was a golden globe award winning actor from a comedy movie.
Taylor lautner should have done romance and comedy to build himself up before taking on leading action movies.
Lastly, Tom cruise is only 4 centimetres shorter than Taylor. Marginal difference.
Compare Tom Cruise in mission impossible Taylor laughner in abduction Baby face is a face that makes a person look much younger than they appear. Tom Cruise has always had a baby face. Even now at 58, he looks 10 years younger or less. https://www.gstatic.com/tv/thumb/persons/378/378_v9_bd.jpgFor context, let's compare his face with Ralph Fiennes' (who is also 58). https://www.abc.net.au/cm/rimage/12026288-1x1-large.jpg?v=2Fiennes' looked noticeably older.Even better, let's compare his face with Top Gun co-star, Val Kilmer (who is 2 years older). https://img.srgcdn.com/e//VGlaUDA2b3FGUHBXOVJiN05mRHYucG5n.jpgKilmer looked his age, and is much older looking, and yet only 2 years older than Cruise.Taylor Lautner has got the looks like Cruise, deficient in height just like Cruise, but unlike Cruise hasn't got the talent to help him overcome his anatomical limitations. |

JackBizzle: The guy should have continued doing teen romance or romantic comedies.
How the hell can a short man with baby face be an action star? Tom cruise is one inch taller than Lautner, has a baby face, and yet by all accounts, is still one of the best action stars in Hollywood. Talent trumps height. If you've got the talent, other shortcomings are surmountable. |

Kaycee7: You said priorities, didn't you? Which was more important to Supes? His life or his mother's?
If Supes knew, he'd probably have led with that. Let's just agree to disagree. Nickshrapnel was right, i'll never convince you and you'll never be able to convince me. We share difference of opinions and it's not a bad thing. |

Nickshrapnel: VerifiedStalin, see when you start over analyzing movie plots like this, it would always lead to more arguments because you won’t back down and neither will your opponents. The scene was stupid/unnecessary to you and I agree but it wasn’t to me, why won’t you also agree with me? Your mental gymnastic is something else. You can't agree with me that's it's a stupid scene and the same time believe it's not a stupid scene. Either you agree with me or you don't. just choose one. |

Kaycee7: Seeee! You do understand. Sarcasm bro. You're about to die and the first word out of your mouth is your mother's Christian name? Hey now. Kaycee7: More dialogue to convince him not to damn a human woman to her death? This is Batman, not Deathstroke we're talking about here. These guys are having a battle to near death, then half an hour later, are having a joke with each other, all because of the magic noun "Martha". Really? Going by your line of thought, the fight should never have happened. Superman could have simply dropped his mom's Christian name, and they would have become fast friends. |

TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by VerifiedStalin: 8:53am On Feb 02, 2021 |
Kaycee7: Someone who needs to get through to an adversary whose mother shares the same first name with his mother Superman could barely get a word out and when he was able to, his first words were "Save Martha". Really? Priorities I guess. Kaycee7: Y'all always spew this line like Batman hugged Supes and started crying the moment he heard the name. It simply shocked him out of his murder frenzy and allowed him to finally hear Clark out, something he'd been unwilling to do from the beginning of the fight.
It's not top notch writing, but it's most definitely not stupid. It's a stupid writing, admit it. Could have been done better. They should have had more dialogue, superman should have convinced him more than just "My mom is Martha". |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by VerifiedStalin: 8:44am On Feb 02, 2021 |
Nickshrapnel: I know people who call their step-mum by their first name, but I don’t know why Superman called his by that.
Main reason Bats was fighting Supes was because he doesn’t trust him, after spending years in Gotham man has gone crazy On a more serious note, when he wanted to deliver the killing blow, Superman still didn’t beg for his live but instead asked for his mother to be saved. This somehow triggered Bruce’s PTSD and made him have a rethink that this dude is as human as him if not more.
This was how I interpreted the scene, not an official explanation, you may not see it that way and it’s okay like that Great story. Lai Mohammed would be proud. PSTD indeed. Where was the PTSD when he was curbstomping the bejesus out of Superman? Your Lai mohammad impression doesn't take away from the fact that the mighty Superman was one wrong name away from being exterminated like a cockroach. On a more serious note, I know it was supposed to read like Superman has human family and connections, but trust Snyder in his infinite mediocrity, a beautiful moment was ruined, and it ended up coming off like "two enemies become buddies when they realize their mom has the same name". Pure garbage script. I have zero expectations about the upcoming Justice League: Snyder Cut. Zack Snyder is a pretender and has always been. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by VerifiedStalin: 7:42am On Feb 02, 2021 |
Kaycee7: Ah! The old Martha scene that no one can explain exactly what's wrong with it. I can. For starters, who call their mom by their first name? Xenophobic Batman is beating the living hell out of Superman, and is about to murder him, in cold blood too, then all of a sudden, oh wow, your mommy has the same name as my mommy! Its like we are brothers! Gimme a break! It's a stupid scene. You'd have to be a staunch DC fanboy to not see it. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by VerifiedStalin: 7:01am On Feb 02, 2021 |
pu7pl3: If DC films are so trash why do you keep on watching them? Just totally look away na instead of going through all that stress with your expectations and all Watching DC movies is not stressful in the least. Shitty movies can't stress you out when your expectations are zero.

pu7pl3: False prophet Nah just a realist. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate DC, it's just that i've given up on them. Keeping my expectations to zero is the only way I can look forward to the trash they call films. At least this way, I won't be disappointed since my expectations can't get any lower, you grab? |

CuteMercury: Who have seen the movie called the old guard by Netflix?
I know this thread is for series but i think netflix has really made a mistake by making the old guard a movie.
Those of us that have seen the old guard knows that if netflix had made it a series, it would have been one of the most interesting series ever made, so many history, so many exciting personalities from the pasts and presents, it's emotional, it's captivating, the fight scenes are one of the best I've seen in a while.
If they had made the old guard a series, it would have been trending worldwide. You're delusional mehn.
