@Gamine, you're just not diabolically inclined. You're like Dr. Carmen in House. M. D. minus the agnostic part though.

All the more reason why he's a sublime actor.

@Max, I meant Foxx probably deserved his oscar but that doesn't make him a good actor. Permit me to make an analogy; Two nice guys were walking along a street. A kid abruptly crosses the road and almost got hit by a car. One of the nice guys saves the kid. Daringly too. But that doesn't make him nicer than his friend. It means he just got the opportunity to save the kid and thus everybody applauds the 'savior' and ignore the really nicer guy. Jamie is the 'savior' and all other better actors without an oscar are collectively the nicer but unrecognised, uncelebrated , overlooked guy. I hope I make sense.

@Gamine I hope you mean Scara of Lion King cuz he was one bad mutha*bleep*bleep*

Fancy that! A Spikyn thread. I loved The Joker along with everyone else but I think there was a flaw in his disposition: He's the only self-acclaimed nutjob I've ever heard of. The dude KNOWS he's crazy.

@Max, what I meant about Foxx was that the role fit him perfectly. That doesn"t make him a good actor. He was great in Ray, but that's just about the only film he was great in. And he happens to win an oscar for it. Whoopdeedo! Just imagine, Depp, Burton etc are still plague with insecurity and uncertainty of their genius and Foxx, Berry get on the of Racial condescension. They were given oscars because they saw their performances as a window to appease their collective guilt. Don't confuse me. I just want to think of the few oscars that black people have won to be for sensible movies and sensible roles.

About Joaquin, it's really sad. I saw him recently in "We own the night" he was great as usual. When was this purported announcement made? I hope it's a publicity stunt. Like MJ's, Michael Jordan not the moving veggy.

I'm beginning to get really frigging pissed here. What kind of anomaly would get all y'all off all at the same frigging time. I'm so jobless today and there's no one out to play. Why won't anyone play with Vesc. My boredom made me foray into the romance section and frankly that's not my strong suit. So if y'all don't want to lose a fairly passable dude, come hither and let's play. Heck, I don't want to lose myself.

Well, it sure seems y'all are having a slow morning.

What say y'all we rant. I could always rant if there was something to rant about which there isn't at the moment. I'm so pissed that I cannot rant about anything right now. So I'm gonna see how many times I can say rant in a sensible sentence. To rant or not to rant seems to be the question most ranters are faced with but they do not know that they're ranting whilst pondering whether to rant or not to rant whichh is really not that difficult but ranters just seem to make a decbacle all the time about not ranting when they actually are, but there's no problem like that for a ranter runt like me who rants at any given rantable opportunity to rant and even when there's hardly and opportunity I create the opportunity to rant like I'm doing presently hoping in my heart of hearts that y'all would label me insane whcih I don't mind as long as my name is spelt right or any first few letters as long as they follow like they're supposed to

My shift and comma keys are broken grin

Rant in the name of loooove, Rant in the name of loooove, Rant in the name of loooooooooooove!

I played both installments of Max Payne on PC. I liked the storyline in both of them. Especially the first. Sounded like something Frank Miller would write, draw (is there a word for what he does?) depict. Anyways from what I hear of the film, I'll see it if I can just to satisfy my curiousity. I dunno where they got the demon bits from. Except if Payne was hallucinating in the film. Either way they've spoiled my guy's persona. The Maximum Pain in bad guys' collective asses

Well, it's nice to see everybody being blunt. Refreshing grin

@Lubracasi. You'll learn to think of Baby_Jinx as Dr. Gregory House if he was cute and cuddly and smiling and saying A while meaning B. And the worst part is that if you don't get it the first time, well, goodluck, you might do a rhinoplasty when all that's needed is a simple dosage. I kid.

Seriously I feel you Lubracasi, and we need more people like you. But frankly you gotta realise the position me and my goons are in. There are these people who love nollywood the way it is. Nollywood that will show you a scene of someone taking a leak for 5 minutes just so you'd get the idea that "This is John Smith. This is John Smith here taking a leak. He should be through in a second. Almost there. Almost there. There, done, see? That was John Smith taking a leak" Point is, naija folks see nothing wrong with things like these. That's why nollywood movies go into pentalogies. They film what's supposed to take a minute in twenty. Dude you're even in Manchester. You don't know what we go through. You'd be watching a local station and all of a sudden a rabid maniac's voice will flood the room and after spilling his brouhaha end thus: "GET UR COPY NOW!!!!!!!!!" But I digress.

I can hardly talk about nollywood without getting worked up. What I'm trying to say is that I have no other means of making an impact than making nollywood lovers realise that they are wasting their time with the present crop of crap parading as films. They'd be better off reading newspapers. Frankly nollywood has negative vibes as it is. Makes you dumber, superstitious and all kinds of ills.

In short, I'm on a mission to open the eyes of the people. Better placed folks will do the actual revolution.

P.S. I believe we do not really lack the actors. The directors and producers are the real problem. The actors just need motivation (materially, socially and intellectually). We have some quite good series. What're they doing right that nollywood can't seem to find if it gave them an uppercut? The one I don't miss is Paradise Boulevard or something. I can't remember.

P.S. P.S. Sisi, when are you gonna review my writs?

@doyin13. Long time. You're now doing cameos? What the woman is trying to say is that my parents are so similar to hers they might as well pass for them. And type Vesc in Vescucci's stead. It really does give me those involuntary muscular twitches at the corner of my mouth.

Sisi, I don't wanna sound like I don't care about women folk and all that but you should quit the activist persona and come here more often. Besides those orthodox guys (and few dumb girls) aren't about to change. They're averse to it. They couldn't if their lives depended on it. I want to have more of you here making guys scratch their heads and making them fun quizzes.
