Haba mallam! Look at the greater good. More peeps will be in grief if I'm gone than those that'll be glad (like thou).
TV/Movies › Re: Review Any Movie by vescucci(m): 4:09pm On Nov 20, 2008
Very funny. I'm sure there a perfectly good explanation from the movie. Since they ran out of Ian Fleming titles they came up with a quasi-Fleming one. Only it is NOT

Ok. You're all good. Eat your cake and have it and send me some. There's this saying about not dying more than once. At least for brave folks. So you can infer either of two things. You either are a coward if you live long or turning thirty is NOT a death sentence. Pick whichever suits you. I don't even know what I mean. I'm going to the ranting thread.

Richard Gere could act. But he doesn't blow me away. He has this patronising look he puts on like "whatever you're thinking, I know it already" Gives me the creeps

Endorsement from u means I'll be seeing it sooner than later. Ex liked it better too. So I guess my mind is at rest

TV/Movies › Re: Review Any Movie by vescucci(m): 1:46pm On Nov 19, 2008
Ex just made me feel better about the whole Bond thing. Bale is fast becoming one of my all-time favorites. I don't think I'll like the prequel thingie. Especially if the frequent flash backs from the first movie is anything to go by. Let em give it a rest.

TV/Movies › Re: 4400 (t.v Series That Will Keep You Glued To Your Television Set) by vescucci(m): 12:58pm On Nov 19, 2008
I recommend House, first and second season of Prison Break, Heroes. Steer clear of Lost cuz they really were lost and so you'll be.
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? by vescucci(m): 12:54pm On Nov 19, 2008
@Max, I often hear you say "my younger brother's kids" so I'm not exactly blown away by your age. Trouble is most people your age act like there's no more hope but to just sit around pouting and be as boring as they can be. They're all about their careers and such. You seem to be like the type who takes time to have fun, hence "young at heart"

My dad's idea of fun is to waltz into my room and look for something to complain about like "why is your remote control lying all the way over there?" or "Are those cobwebs I see?"

DeepZone:
Sani Abacha
IBB
Idi Amin
Murtala Mohammed
Pieter Botha
Samuel Doe
Charles Taylor

Evil in that order.
Whatever did Murtala Mohammed do wrong? Or you just hate him for being Murtala Mohammed? How can you pack with this lot of proven evil-doers?

@Bluespice. It was initially meant to be a 'ranting' thread of sorts but now it's basically where our 'clique' hang out and do 'catch-up'

Where have YOU been?
Literature › Re: My Book Of Rants! by vescucci(m): 10:21am On Nov 18, 2008
@Stillwater. This is why my colleague Dr. House hates clinic duty. He says patients wanna know too much and he runs out of wise cracks or they fly over. Not to say the same thing of you though. That's House. But I wish you'd take the prescriptions with no questions, will ya? There're good for I assure you. You'd wake up refreshed like the morning mist.

@Kay9. Wouldn't want to be your boss. I just you don't come back with your tail between your legs and confess you couldn't muster the courage to lose your own 8-5.

@Sir Rantalot, nice to have you back. God knows I've had my share of Malaria this lifetime and the next.

So, Ice_Zik. They give y'all leeway to mark buffdays and use the internet in Alcatraz?

@Gamine, you must be so happy to have done ur time, but what was ur crime?

@Ex, that picture really looks like that Korean defiant. Really funny! At least it ain't Bush.
TV/Movies › Re: 4400 (t.v Series That Will Keep You Glued To Your Television Set) by vescucci(m): 9:57am On Nov 18, 2008
I swear to Jah! I bought 4400 season 1 to 3. I watched like half a dozen episodes and concluded that it wasn't worth my time. It's not even like some series that have a dull concept but have a riveting character that brings you back all the time like T-Bag in PrisonBreak. Funny thing is that I like the 4400 concept but hate the way they went about it. We all know that the U. S. of A. would never release the 4400 to live their normal lives after their different lengths of sojourn. It's very irresponsible and very unlikely. Bottom-line 4400=Heroes/X-men wannabe

Romance › Re: Is Beauty A Curse. by vescucci(m): 4:49pm On Nov 17, 2008
Some are, some ain't. Most are, most ain't. Which kind wahala be this.

Seriously though. If you pack a thousand girls consisting of 500 "fine" ones and 500 "homely" ones. I bet you 350 out of the "fine" ones will be dumb blondes who think they made themselves "fine". The rest are a mix of OK, smart and actually brilliant. Out of the 500 "homely" ones, you'd fine exactly the reverse the case. Meaning instead of dumb people, you'd have 350 that consist of OK, smart and actually intelligent people. The rest harbors the dumb, dirty and dare I say ugly ones.

BUT, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, while once in a while I like the rest get carried away by a "fine" woman but most girls I find attractive, I find attracive because they are stimulating to be with. Stimulating, I mean here, mentally. When I see a chic in flat soles and a long skirt wearing glasses, my radar starts beeping, I might actually be able to converse with this one. And to the "fine" ones. Y'all are ok but fineness is skin deep unlike finesse.

I'm sure Sisi is homely  grin
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? by vescucci(m): 3:02pm On Nov 17, 2008
It's strange I'm not watching anything now. I just finished season 3 of House though, but have nothing to watch now. I'm trying to catch up on movies if I can.

Jeez Max, Thirty-something is what I thought. I couldn't have a ninety year old sis. My dad just clocked fifty!

@iice, welcome back from your, sabbatical
TV/Movies › Re: Review Any Movie by vescucci(m): 2:56pm On Nov 17, 2008
Quantum of Solace is giving people no solace. Me, am torn between two schools of thought. I actually agree with Ex on the need to revise the franchise but like Justkunmi and Debosky, I do not think they ought to overdo it. Spies do carry gadgets and cannot always ass-kick their way outta every situation.

@Ex, hehe, black agent dude in an impala? Mike Myers would be unemployed.

Sir Rantalot obviously sneaks outta his hole every now and then. Nice. How are the plasmodia chilling? I hope you're sending the armed forces in. Don't want you unable to rant. Where's Stillater? Are you taking your vitamins. Vitamins V?
Poems For Review › Re: Excercise In Exorcism by vescucci(m): 2:13pm On Nov 17, 2008
Methinks you is righto, old boy! Poster's block? You need a muse. Sisi woulda been a good candidate but upon monitoring her, I see she gets taken with a thread and absolutely won't leave it till she's done and good with it. So, you'll just have to settle for second best. Say the shit you would rather not say and we'll berate you and you'll defend yourself and we'll berate you some more and you'll defend yourself some more. That way we'll all never run out of stuff to say.
