Free thinking is simply thinking for yourself. It doesn't have to be smart or critical or anything. It merely has to be original and not recycled or even influenced. So not all thinking can lead to the same conclusions as far as God is concerned. It's like having three numbers in a series, depending on how your thinking process plays, you can have several suitable numbers for the 4th, 5th, 6th etc numbers in the series. No belief system is better than the other. Some are merely grander, more convoluted or ridiculous than the others. Lol. |
The Losers. Not extremely terrible but it's on the best picture shortlist? Dang. The Idris is there o. I've noticed it's women who like it &*!@ and &%* that think this dude is hot. |
This version of Emeka alone has opened 911 topics. I hope my less than subtle point is not too subtle still |
Shrek Forever After. Thank God it was short. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Little in the way of suspense here but it wasn't catastrophic or ridonkeylous |
Lol. No love am make I break your head there. I'm high. I was just thinking the same thing with Steven. I was wondering why they'd never worked together. Thank God Leonardo is not in that category. I'm not terribly optimistic about this film though. I don't see it making much money but it might be an Oscar contender. Been a while, Stevie, eh? There's nothing in there about their time table cara. |
Be My Man by Asa. Divine as usual |
You're insulting 1984 by calling it a very good book o. Do you know how many very good books there are? |
Lol, to each his own. I was more interested in the things it set off in my mind more than the acting or whatever which I think was cool nevertheless. I loved the film jare. Bite me. |
A few films of which the most notable is The Oxford Murders. It was awesome and very English. Contained a lotta elementary but beautiful bullshit |
I didn't have any director in particular in mind, iice. All I was thinking of were the many mediocre actors that seem like different people under certain directors. To me there're really few outstanding actors. Casting is what makes an actor good or bad. Actors are almost insignificant in this hierarchy. Storylines and directors are the two pronged genius. Maybe a chip of iice is enough punishment for Ewww Boll. |
Thank you, InesQor. I think I understand you somewhat. Yours is a another way of looking at things, Jenwitemi. |
Hmmm. Benodic, you coulda just said yes na. Thanks for your answers InesQor. In other words you think God in essence does our thinking for us? Cuz that's what your analogy suggests. I think maybe you meant God was like an all powerful Oracle in The Matrix. As far as info is concerned anyways. Pretty standard fare, I'd say. And the question was indeed CAN and not WILL. I find it hard to understand your view of judgement o. Once it looks like an appraisal given certain information. Later it looks like karma resultant from God's machinations. Perhaps you mean both. In any case, I didn't mean judgement in terms of direct consequence of our thoughts. I meant it more like the appraisal part of your understanding. When dealing with God, can we be our hair, so to speak. I'm interested in how God's judgement visits us. Is it on earth or later or in both times? Can he make one happy or miserable vicariously as in through the joy or distress of someone else? Etc. Things like that. |
Interesting Benodic. I assume you're an adherent of the message of the grahl or something similar. |
Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce |
And these films are? Obinna? |
Never mind. I think those three factors matter in a way that any one that is below par contaminates badly the efforts of the other two and spoils a film. To realise the most important, we need not look at which one helps make a film awesome but which one has the greatest power to botch a movie. In my opinion, this is the director, then the story and lastly the actors. Next time I may elaborate on my reasons. |
Runts rant. Grunts |
Will wait till you're done with camp then. Hope you can swing a bat now, v3? Hurry up and be fully fit so I can resume picking on you |
Hey Obinna 5k. Glad to see you too. Movie gists? I'm too lazy to scour the internet for info. Besides iice knows what interests me. I'll let her do the hard work. Lol. Ijaw girl. No let uncle Obinna vex o. Put a leash on your boy too. |
If this culled, you oughta give credit. |
Lol. Why should Seun give your wishes priority over |
Just in case you fellas don't know I'm reading, I am o. And that post by Pastor which MyJoe called A-grade is excellent. Did you contrive to write it? Lol. I agree patapata. MyJoe. Interesting interests and hobbies you have. When Pastor said he found it improbable that there were organs responsible for multiple intelligences, I'd agree with him than not. The reason is because modern intelligence testing draw mainly on the abilities of the brain that are known to us like logic, memory etc. and not emotional, musical etc. But on the other hand, the brain remains on organ or network of organs that man has little knowledge about. What then is to say that there really aren't parts of the brain responsible for every kind of intelligence that can be imagined? One thing I don't understand though is how one can have an ability or intelligence and be oblivious to it till by some accident one discovers it. I'd imagine this was highly improbable. A distinction should be made then between intelligence which births excellence as Pastor put it and ability plus contrivance which can lead to high skill. I remember hating Chemistry. Further maths is supposed to be harder than General maths but I did way better in Additional maths. Mainly this was because I was more interested in pure maths and ideas and absolutes and not really how we make use of this knowledge. Ability vs inclination. |
Trinity. Trinity. Trinity. Religion. Religion. Religion. A leap of reason is usually harder to take than a leap of faith |
Lol. Tell me why you think all the things you think. Cuz I want to scripture doesn't mean I'm doing a poll na. I just didn't want recycled thoughts is all. |
The fates conspired to make me miss all this. Thanks cara. I heard of that Olatunde. But forgot about him soon after. My mouth is shut about Milla. I think she'd have been a banging model though. I dunno why she acts. Tintin! I think I just wet myself. Ijaw girl. You dunno how pleased I am to hear of your displeasure at Stomp the Yard which I've not and won't see. |
There's only one God. The question is not whether Christians and Muslims worship the same God. It is whether they worship God at all. |
I have been wondering about these things for ages and have decided once before that the answers may not really matter. But the doggone questions still come back to me. I wanna hear other people's views. I'd appreciate it very much if only opinions are given and no scripture is quoted or even alluded to. 1. Can God read our minds? Does He know what we think and conceal in our hearts? 2. Does He judge us on these thoughts? Is there such a thing as an unclean thought? 3. Is God truly omniscient? 4. If so, does He merely know or can He change whole courses of events? |
Arthur and the Invisibles. Magical foolishness. I wish I was truly young enough to truly enjoy it |
Around the World in Eighty Days. Jules Verne. Did ACD rip this guy off? |
Lol. I won't hooze in your hears anymore. |
