@Oyinda. National Eye Centre is a real place, lol. What wife? I'm a free agent. Didn't think of a husband earlier but then I wasn't the one leaning too close into someone. Don't tell me you read Dostoyevsky. I do but it feels like undertaking a project. He's so full of thought. Off topic. I think Kafka is over rated. @Topic. Some stuff about Scientology |
I'll let teeluv comment on my behalf |
A free/enslaved lance human. Only me? |
I'm an African and black. I do not like blaming some sumbitches that have been recycled by Gaya for our recent troubles. I especially do not think claiming Jesus as black means anything but some kinda creepy us versus them mentality. So what if he was black? Does that make us chosen by God? The white man didn't do us any favours but we harm ourselves more now and even back then. If there were more Mandelas and less Idi Amins we wouldn't be where we are now |
Quite pointless abi? Very forgettable |
Make I no talk. |
This Alloy Emeka must be aiming to open the highest number of threads ever! Na wa o! What next? A thread on whether it rains on a flooded town? |
Lol. I even watched the movie by accident. Never knew it existed and for that reason my expectations weren't very high. I like the narratives though. I like all films with narratives come to think of it. |
Where did the Infinitesimal Hulk go? And I thought I was gonna work up a good sweat. Eja, if you were interested, I'd have lost interest. I don't rant by the way. I'm cold blooded. |
Yeah, Spike. I've seen it. It's not as funny as the book though. Plus much of the satire was lost in adaptation. It's funny in its own way. Somewhat like Dan Arkroyd's Coneheads funny. Mos Def's voice is funny on its own. Prince Caspian wasn't as good as the first but it is a visual fest like iice likes. Frankly, I'd have been ok with only one installment but the book after all is not one book. |
You've watched it twice and you love watching it again and again? |
Lol. Prince Caspian is good of course, merely misjudged how not so long ago I had seen it. I remembered almost every scene. I hate it when that happens, you know, cara |
Well, you're sincere. Sincerely mistaken too. If Jesus was a black man, great. Let's all have a ball. If you knew me, you'd know how much I value truth. I still think you're somewhat racist though. You don't have to be violent to be. |
Everytime I wanna retire, another eager Don Quixote comes at me with manning up rites on his mind. You?! You that still have your testicles undescended in your abdomen wanna come test me? Are you getting high on gutter sludge? Maybe it's the viagra. It's for old men dude. Can't be steroids though, or can it? It makes a normal man's balls shrink but we know you're deficient in that department. What do you know of the Eco-system. You pilot fish of yesterday who won't remember that you can never outgrow your natural adult size? Just swim behind me or I'll make a snack of you. You're only alive this long cuz you're not even good enough to eat. Hardened? My goons are hardened. Maybe you should go get a form. I offer pension and injury benefits. As for you Eja, go to my room. You turn me on. Anything else you say will only make you more desirable, mi corazon du Amazon |
Prince Caspian. Na by mistake. I thought it'd been long enough to watch it again. |
Bleh. Nothing can redeem my kinda first born. @Oyinda. The last few books I read are small ones. The Road is small too. Don't actually read much as it seems. Funny you should mention my eyesight for I was at The National Eye Centre today for a check up. The sexy lady doctor after having dyed my eye leaned so close peering into it, I thought she was gonna kiss me. Not an entirely problematic scenario. |
Eja, I offer to share my whole stash with you. Let's go smoke the weed by the train station. |
Men, Godspeed. You sound like a hero dude. Don't worry, at the end of it all, chics dig scars. See you soon! |
Lol. Yeah, I figured this news was religious since IBB is the Anti-Christ. |
Hmmm. The non-spiritual points make sense but I don't think or know if there's any self-servicer who doesn't prefer the real deal |
Why don't you just ignore people? They'll tire. Replying them is like validating their existence and spuring them on. |
Can you read at all through your pitiable racist tinted glasses? Where did the poor Kay17 insinuate all the disjointed massa episode you're spouting? You're suffering from severe inferiority complex. We don't need your kind fighting the black man cause. Or any cause, I'd say |
Danke. Will check it out now |
Lol, jesus. Usually people's hair don't give them extra ordinary powers now do they? A miracle doesn't always have to involve spiritual philantropy. Anything that transcends the probable qualifies. |
I vexed that they were making Ghost Rider 2 but it now seems stupid since they no fit force me to watch. What's the Spielberg produced J. J. Abrams movie, iice. And why does loving Atonement surprise you? |
Jesus, black, pink, transparent, what difference does it make? Really. For what it's worth, I don't think he would have been a blue eyed blonde Aryan like he's depicted. But I don't think he's black either. A prejudiced scholar is the worst kind. But no matter how much bullshit he spouts, there's bound to be some truths to what he says. Simple law of averages. I'm more interested in laying my hands on a copy of the goings-on of the Nicene council that he alluded to. Also the bit about reincarnation being removed. I'm uneducated about that. I'm sure you know all about that MyJoe. Is there any relevant literature you know of? |
Bleh. The NT is pretty boring compared with the OT. I used to read this JW book: My Book of Bible Stories. I dunno who illustrates their publications but damn! I loved Samson and Delilah most |
I agree with MyJoe. I have poems to share too though they have nothing to do with God. I need critiquing actually. They're part of a short story collection. Deep, you fit make God blush o |
Lol. 93.5? You're a basket case? Muki, say hi to mini me, v3 for me. Truly awful stuff. Just when you thought he was safe. From atop a building though? Lord! |
Movie adaptations of great books that turn out as great are very rare. Schindler's List, The Godfather and LOTR are among a very select few I know of. Silence of the Lambs is no doubt one of best adaptations I've ever come across. Anthony Hopkins' best performance ever and this is probably the greatest still respiring. Rookie Jodie Foster made more than just a name for herself (and her lovely accent which probably only she, Tom Hanks and Matthew McEtc get away with) with a 'Sterling' performance. If I remember correctly both of them won best actor Oscars that year, a tour de force that I remember with K versus K, As Good as it Gets and a few others. Serial Murderers fascinate me for some reason. The really smart ones though. This Hannibal Lecter is one step crazier. He actually ingests his victims. In the book, he and Clarice (whose fascination turned to worship/brain washing) actually had a live meal/lobotomy straight out of a nosy cop's skull while he was still alive and even talking. The book ends there. The film is no less fascinating and I coulda done with either. And to think this film was made way back then, Hopkins brought Lecter to life: his intellect, his diction, his charisma, his acute sense of smell, his exquisite palate, his stride and surprising strength, his mesmerizing gaze and even his even small teeth. Jodie Foster was not bad at all herself and to not get completely overshadowed by Hopkins'/Lecter's awesome presence is a mean feat on its own. She enabled him beautifully. If a less gifted actor had played her part, Hopkins may not have turned out so good. Enough said. I rate the film 95%. Anyone who doesn't it can swim with the fishes. |
Uno momento. . . . . . . Silence of the Lambs wins! As if I didn't always know it would. I'll give my review tomorrow though. Happy reviewing. AT LAST |
The movie is called 127 hours (2011) mind I think we talked about this movie earlier or is this deja vu? I'm lukewarm about Darren's project. We'll see. He's dark though, pretty complicated and doesn't overwork himself so it might not be bad. I've not read Bourne Legacy. I'll try to before the movie comes out. I never knew Matt wouldn't be lead. I'm not shaking like a leaf in fear but I'm not over confident it will be awesome like the rest. I'm losing hope with the Matarese Circle. Sigh. |
